Reported resolution and frame rate
The third-party Backwards Compatible database reports a single mode of 1080p at 60 FPS for the PS4 edition running on PS5. Its entry is labeled “Backwards Compatible, 2021” and was updated on February 11, 2021. The same entry notes that characters and stages are rendered at lower resolution. This is a database report, not a Sony or Arc System Works specification, and it should not be treated as a measured input-latency result. Because the report describes backward compatibility, its 1080p/60 FPS figure applies only to the PS4 software being executed on PS5. It does not establish what the future native PS5 edition will render, whether that edition will offer multiple display modes, or whether its assets will be rebuilt at a higher resolution.
What “60 FPS” does and does not tell you
A 60-FPS report describes the output cadence reported for the compatible PS4 edition. It does not provide a controller-to-display latency measurement, a frame-pacing analysis, or a guarantee that every television, monitor and capture setup will behave identically. Display processing, connection mode and other equipment can affect what a player perceives, but no game-specific measurement for those variables was established in the cited material.
It also does not mean that the game has a selectable 60-FPS toggle. The database describes one reported mode, not a menu of options. What the native PS5 version announcement confirms
Arc System Works Asia’s October 12, 2026 notice says production of a PS5 version has been decided. Three features are explicitly named:
- Rollback netcode is planned for online play.
- Steam cross-platform play is planned.
- An upgrade from the PS4 version to PS5 is planned.
The notice does not state the native version’s resolution, frame-rate target, graphics modes, HDR support, loading-time behavior, input-lag figure, controller options, release date or upgrade price and eligibility rules. “Upgrade planned” therefore should not be read as an upgrade that can already be claimed. Rollback netcode is not an input-lag specification
Rollback netcode predicts and corrects online game states so that remote play can remain responsive when network conditions vary. The announcement does not say that rollback changes the local delay between a button press and the image appearing on screen. Online responsiveness and local controller-to-display latency are separate measurements; one cannot be used as a numerical substitute for the other.
Rollback can also involve an occasional visual correction when a prediction differs from the remote player’s actual input. That networking behavior should be evaluated separately from offline training-mode response. Until the developer documents the implementation, it is not possible to say whether local input handling, online delay, or frame pacing differs from the PS4 edition.
Can you reduce input lag with a PS5 setting?
No validated Centralfiction-specific input-lag setting has been identified. The reviewed official announcement and product listing do not name a latency option, and no reliable measurement establishes a particular console, game, controller or display setting as reducing this title’s delay.
That means there is currently no evidence-backed path such as a menu toggle, graphics mode or frame-rate switch that can be recommended as a tested fix. Be wary of guides that present a specific number of milliseconds or promise a guaranteed reduction without identifying the exact game version, display chain and measurement method.
What not to infer from common advice
- A 60-FPS report is not proof of a particular input-lag value.
- Rollback netcode is not proof of lower offline controller latency.
- Using a PS5 controller or fight stick is not established as necessary or as a proven latency remedy for this game.
- A television’s low-latency or game-oriented mode may be general display advice, but it has not been validated here as a Centralfiction-specific result.
If you change display or controller options, describe the result as your own setup-dependent observation rather than an official game feature. A meaningful comparison would need the same console, game build, display, connection and test procedure before and after the change.

Requirements, purchasing and upgrade status
There is no separate native PS5 product available to purchase in the cited PlayStation Store listing. The directly listed product is the PS4 game, and Sony’s compatibility note is the relevant requirement for playing it on PS5. Do not assume that buying a PS5, a new controller or an arcade stick unlocks a native build or an input-lag improvement.
The planned upgrade has no published price, eligibility rule, region restriction, expiration date or claim procedure. It is therefore impossible to calculate an upgrade cost or say whether a disc, digital purchase, or a particular regional SKU will qualify. Wait for Arc System Works or PlayStation to publish those terms rather than relying on retailer labels or user speculation.
How to identify which version you are playing

- On PS5, confirm that you are launching that PS4 software rather than a separately labeled native PS5 application. The backward-compatible release and the announced native release are different versions.
- Do not assume that an “upgrade” is available simply because it has been announced. Arc System Works has not published the upgrade terms, timing or eligibility details in the cited notice.
- Record the version identifier, system software, display and controller before comparing screenshots or latency. Mixing editions can make an apparent performance difference meaningless.
Knowing the version matters when comparing performance reports. A 1080p/60 FPS entry from a backward-compatibility database cannot be used as a specification for the native PS5 build.
Controller and fight-stick questions
Search results included community wording about a controller question for Centralfiction on PS5, but that wording does not establish compatibility for a particular controller or arcade stick. The available official material does not provide a complete accessory-compatibility matrix, nor does it identify any accessory as required to obtain lower latency.
Use the accessory maker’s compatibility documentation and the console’s own support information for a specific model. Keep that hardware question separate from the game’s latency specification: even a compatible controller would not, by itself, supply a published controller-to-display measurement for either edition.

Move lists and the pause menu: useful, but not a latency control
The official FAQ says character move lists can be viewed through the in-game pause-menu command list or the online manual. The command list is unavailable during network matches, spectating and rooms. This is why a complete native-versus-backward-compatible performance verdict is not possible yet. Only the version identities, the secondary 1080p/60 FPS report for the PS4 edition, and the announced online and upgrade features have published support.

When official specifications or reliable testing become available, check these items separately rather than treating “PS5 version” as a single performance claim:
- Resolution mode: whether the game uses a fixed resolution or offers selectable quality and performance modes.
- Frame-rate target: whether 60 FPS is specified and whether frame pacing is consistent.
- Input latency: a measured controller-to-display result with the test conditions disclosed.
- Online behavior: how rollback is implemented and whether Steam cross-play is enabled at launch.
- Upgrade terms: eligible editions, regions, pricing, expiration dates and whether the upgrade is automatic or manually claimed.
- Release timing: the actual launch date, since the October announcement gives no schedule.
- Feature parity: whether any PS4 options, modes or accessories are missing, changed or newly supported.
Until those details are published, avoid converting the backward-compatible PS4 report into a promise about the native release.

The native PS5 version announced on October 12, 2026 should add rollback netcode, Steam cross-platform play and a planned PS4 upgrade, but its resolution, frame rate, latency, release date and upgrade conditions remain unpublished.
