The Blackview BV9000 Pro is a genuine rugged Android phone released around 2018. Its 5.7-inch 2160×1080 display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB storage, NFC and IP68 rating were competitive then. In 2026, however, it is a discontinued Android 7.1 device best treated as a cheap, tested secondary phone—not a secure primary smartphone.
Quick verdict
- Release era: Around 2018
- Software: Android 7.1 Nougat at launch
- Hardware: MediaTek MT6757CD/Helio P25-class chip, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage
- Current status: Discontinued through Blackview’s official store
- Best use: A low-cost backup for basic calls, texts, maps and simple field work
- Avoid if you need: Current banking or work apps, reliable carrier compatibility, 5G, modern cameras, security updates or a manufacturer warranty
Blackview’s own review says the model stopped selling through its official store. Historical reviews describe launch-era performance and battery life; they do not establish the condition of units offered second-hand in 2026.
What is the Blackview BV9000 Pro?
The BV9000 Pro/BV9000Pro is an older 4G rugged phone identified in a device-branding document as a Blackview retail model. Related names create substantial marketplace confusion:
- BV9000: Related non-Pro model with less memory and storage.
- BV9900 Pro: Later rugged model with thermal imaging.
- BV9000 Pro-F and BV9000Pro-RU: Regional or related variants that may use different network bands.
- BL9000 Pro: A much newer 5G thermal-imaging phone with a different naming prefix.
Confirm the model in Settings > About phone rather than trusting a listing title. The device designation is documented at this identification document.

Retailers may call the processor simply “Helio P25”; MT6757CD is the more specific designation reported in technical coverage. Camera descriptions can also differ because the secondary rear sensor is not always explained.
Design, durability and the IP68 rating
The phone is thick and heavy by conventional smartphone standards. TechRadar describes a metal band and ruggedized exterior evolved from the BV8000 Pro, while Blackview’s review notes a rubberized back and metal frame. That construction can help with ordinary knocks, but it does not make an old handset indestructible.
IP68 describes protection under specified test conditions when the device is intact. It is not a promise of unlimited underwater use. On a used unit, seals, adhesives, port covers, buttons and the display assembly may have deteriorated or been compromised by a repair.
- Inspect the frame, screen edges and USB-port cover.
- Assume water resistance is doubtful if the phone has been opened, dropped or has a cracked seal.
- Do not deliberately submerge a second-hand phone.
- Buy only with a return window if water protection matters.
Display and everyday usability
The 5.7-inch 18:9 panel’s 2160×1080 resolution was unusually sharp for a rugged phone of its period. TechRadar questioned whether the extra pixels justified the additional graphics workload. Blackview’s reviewer found sunlight readability less than ideal.
Recommended Free Tools
The large chassis provides room for the display and battery, but replacement screens may be difficult or uneconomical to source. Check for dead pixels, touch gaps, burn-in, lifting glass and uneven backlighting before accepting a used device.
Performance and gaming
The MT6757CD/Helio P25-class platform and 6GB RAM were respectable at launch. TechRadar recorded 867 single-core and 3,994 multi-core in Geekbench, 64,227 in AnTuTu and 678 in 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme. Those are historical review measurements, not a measure of 2026 Android performance.
Calls, messaging, light browsing, maps and simple compatible apps may still work. Android 7.1 can prevent newer apps from installing or limit their functionality, especially banking, workplace, password-management, streaming and other security-sensitive software. It is not a sensible modern gaming recommendation.
Cameras
The 13MP + 5MP rear cameras and 8MP selfie camera can document scenes adequately in daylight. Blackview’s review found portraits acceptable for a budget phone but criticized front- and rear-camera video. Expect weak low-light results, limited stabilization and none of the computational photography common on current phones. Lens-cover scratches and aging software can further reduce quality.
Rank #2
- The Blackview BL7000 Pro features a 6.78‑inch display with a sharp 1080×2460 FHD+ resolution and a silky 120Hz refresh rate, delivering fluid visuals for gaming, video streaming, and map navigation. The high‑refresh panel ensures responsive touch interactions and reduces motion blur, making outdoor use more comfortable even under bright sunlight.
- Powered by a massive 7500mAh battery, the device supports 6W OTG reverse charging to top up other gadgets like wireless earbuds or smartwatches on the move. This long‑lasting endurance keeps you active for multiple days without hunting for a power outlet, ideal for extended fieldwork or remote adventures. Please note that the charger is not included in the retail package, so you may use your own USB‑C power adapter for recharging.
- With 8GB of physical RAM (which can be virtually expanded up to 24GB) and 256GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot that accepts up to 2TB of extra space, the BL7000 Pro provides generous room for all your apps, high‑resolution photos, and large video files. The virtual RAM enhancement also boosts multitasking performance, ensuring smooth switching between multiple applications.
- The rear camera system combines a 50MP main sensor with a dedicated 20MP night‑vision lens, while the front houses a 32MP camera for crisp selfies. This versatile setup captures detailed daylight shots, clear low‑light scenes, and vivid portraits, making it a reliable companion for documenting work sites, travel memories, or daily life.
- Built to withstand tough conditions, the BL7000 Pro meets IP68/IP69K waterproof and dustproof standards, along with MIL‑STD‑810H drop resistance, so it easily handles heavy rain, dust storms, and accidental falls. However, its camera is not designed for underwater photography; you can confidently use it in wet or muddy environments without worrying about damage, as long as you avoid submerging the lens for shooting.
Battery and charging
The battery is rated at 4,180mAh. Blackview’s reviewer reported roughly seven hours of screen-on time, while TechRadar lists a 24W charging setup. The seven-hour figure was a historical, non-standardized observation and says nothing about an original battery after years of use.
- Request a battery-health screenshot if the seller can provide one.
- Charge from a low percentage for several minutes and confirm that the level rises normally.
- Watch for rapid percentage drops, heat, charging interruptions or unexpected shutdowns.
- Reject any phone with swelling or a display being pushed upward.
Software, updates and app compatibility
The BV9000 Pro shipped with Android 7.1 Nougat. TechRadar reported that buyers should not expect Oreo at the time and described a Google-license error during one firmware update that apparently cleared after restarts.
No verified evidence establishes a current final Android release or dependable security-patch program for every regional variant. Treat each handset as Android 7.1 unless its exact software is demonstrated otherwise. Do not buy it for long-term security, and do not assume a stable custom ROM exists.
NFC hardware is present, but Google Wallet and banking compatibility also depends on Android version, Play certification, security status and device integrity. Contactless payments should not be assumed.

This is an important 2026 risk. A generic “unlocked” marketplace claim is insufficient. Before buying, verify:
- The exact regional model and supported LTE bands.
- VoLTE support and the carrier’s device-approval policy.
- Whether the carrier has retired relevant 3G fallback networks.
- IMEI compatibility and blacklist status.
Imported variants can differ, so ask the carrier to check the exact model and IMEI before payment.

- Open Settings > About phone and confirm “BV9000 Pro,” RAM and storage.
- Record the IMEI and have the intended carrier verify it.
- Check Google Play certification and install the apps you actually need.
- Test charging, the USB-C port, battery behavior, speakers, microphones and the fingerprint reader.
- Test both SIM slots, microSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and cameras.
- Inspect the screen, lens covers, frame and port flap for damage or repair evidence.
- Confirm a return policy; cosmetic condition cannot reveal battery capacity or seal integrity.
Never flash firmware from another model or region without verifying the exact build and recovery procedure. A reset imported or modified phone can also present Google-service or account-lock problems.

Alternatives by need
Lowest-cost rugged backup
A tested BV9000 Pro can work when calls, texts and basic offline tasks are enough and the price is very low. Require a return policy and verify apps and network service first.
Current rugged Android
Choose a newer model with a supported Android release, a stated update policy, documented LTE/5G bands, available batteries and a real warranty.
Thermal imaging
Consider a current rugged phone with a documented FLIR sensor, or a dedicated FLIR accessory paired with a supported phone.
Business or industrial deployment
Prioritize vendor support, replacement parts, warranty coverage and explicit enterprise and carrier compatibility. The BV9000 Pro’s age makes it unsuitable for dependable fleet deployment.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Maximum reliability
A current mainstream phone in a rugged case may be safer than an old rugged handset with obsolete software and uncertain seals.
The later Blackview BV9900 Pro adds thermal imaging and lists IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810G claims on Blackview’s product page, but its age, stock, battery, software and carrier suitability still require verification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the BV9000 Pro run modern banking apps?
Do not assume it can. Android 7.1, Play certification, security status and each bank’s minimum requirements may block installation or reliable operation.
Is the BV9000 Pro waterproof when bought used?
No guarantee is possible. IP68 applied to an intact device under test conditions; age, drops and repairs can compromise seals.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

The Bottom Line
The BV9000 Pro remains a legitimate, well-equipped rugged phone for its era, but Android 7.1, battery aging, uncertain LTE compatibility, discontinued support and obsolete app security make it a poor primary phone in 2026. Buy only a very cheap, tested, returnable unit for limited secondary use.
