What is the board expected to do?
BlackDoctor says the board will contribute to medical review and advise the company across its content and services. The stated responsibilities include:
- Helping shape products and tools, and advising on product and content strategy.
- Conducting medical review of BlackDoctor content and contributing health education, commentary and other material for BlackDoctor.com and BlackDoctor.pro.
- Representing the brand at industry events and helping advance health education.
- Building relationships with pharmaceutical companies, academic medical institutions, medical schools, medical societies, foundations and health nonprofits.
These are the company’s stated plans. Its October 1 announcement does not report outcomes from the board’s work or establish that the planned partnerships have been formed.

What did BlackDoctor say about the board?
CEO Akinwole Garrett described the board as “built by and for the community we serve, with real clinicians in the room.” Cole said joining was an “easy decision.” In comments about shaping WellBot and Health on Point, Cole also said, “We’re not just adding another AI product to the market — we’re building something that actually understands who it’s talking to.” That is Cole’s characterization, not independent evidence of either product’s performance.

The October 1, 2026 announcement establishes that BlackDoctor named eight physician members and assigned them advisory, content-review, education, product and relationship-building roles. It does not establish clinical effectiveness, improved health outcomes or the success of future collaborations. Nor does it announce a consumer product for purchase.
BlackDoctor reported that it reaches more than 30 million people each year and has more than 30,000 practitioners in its healthcare professional database. Those are figures stated by the company in its announcement, not independently audited audience or database estimates.
