How to build Blackbird for damage
Skills and stats
For a damage-focused Blackbird, level her Ultimate first, followed by her Skill, Basic attacks, and QTE. The character-data page’s stat order favors CRIT DMG, then Psyche DMG Bonus, ATK, CRIT Rate, and Universal DMG Bonus. Treat this as a priority order rather than a requirement to reach a particular threshold; the cited sources do not establish an ideal stat target.
Cartridge: Devil’s Blood: Curse
Neverness.app lists a two-piece effect of Psyche DMG +10% and a four-piece effect that gives 18% damage, rising to 36% against enemies affected by Nova or Stain. Icy Veins also recommends the set for Blackbird’s personal damage, tying its value to her use of those two cycles. The stronger four-piece effect therefore depends on having Nova or Stain active on the target.

Arc: Crime and Punishment
Crime and Punishment is Blackbird’s signature Arc. Icy Veins connects its Cycle Intensity to her Redirect Skill-driven cycle and its critical-damage window to the start of Witch of Deliverance after her Ultimate. Neverness.app also lists Cosmos Daze and Wild Reverie as alternative Arcs. For a more support-oriented setup, Icy Veins recommends considering Good Boy’s Grand Adventure; it lists Watch Your Heads! as a lower-ranked A-Rank fallback.
Console and modules
Neverness.app says Type III Specialization adds 8% CRIT Rate for each Type III Module equipped. Icy Veins illustrates a damage setup with four Type III modules, totaling 32% CRIT Rate, and a separate support-oriented example using Speedy Hedgehog. These are guide examples, not prerequisites for making Blackbird usable.

Why Blackbird can fill several roles
Blackbird’s Redirect Skill, Netherplume Rite, applies Forsaken Feather to an enemy. While the mark is active, attacks from another active ally can trigger Blackbird’s coordinated Psyche attack. Icy Veins describes the mark as enabling up to five coordinated attacks, with a trigger no more often than once every two seconds.
Her Ultimate, Requies Animarum, enters Witch of Deliverance and increases team ATK. The duration does not decrease while Blackbird is off-field, according to the game-data wording reproduced on Neverness.app. That makes it possible to use her Ultimate, swap to another character to refresh effects or attack, and return while the state remains active.

- Main DPS: Spend meaningful field time attacking during Witch of Deliverance.
- Sub-DPS: Let another character attack while Forsaken Feather triggers Blackbird’s coordinated hits.
- Support or quickswap: Bring Blackbird in to mark an enemy, help advance a cycle, and use her Ultimate for the team ATK increase.
Icy Veins identifies all three as viable roles. The best fit depends on whether the team needs Blackbird’s own on-field damage or values the attacks and amplification she contributes around another carry.
Blackbird rotation: mark, trigger a reaction, then swap
- Apply Forsaken Feather: Use Netherplume Rite, Blackbird’s Redirect Skill, to damage and mark the target while gaining Malice.
- Trigger Nova or Stain: Swap to a Chaos teammate for Nova or a Lakshana teammate for Stain. Those reactions matter for Devil’s Blood: Curse’s enhanced damage against affected enemies.
- Use the marked target: Attack with the active teammate to trigger Blackbird’s off-field Forsaken Bird attacks, respecting the mark’s trigger interval and limit.
- Cast Blackbird’s Ultimate when ready: Use Requies Animarum to enter Witch of Deliverance and grant the team ATK increase. Attack during the window or rotate to another character; the state’s duration pauses while she is off-field.
This sequence combines Icy Veins’ suggested rotation with the character-data descriptions of the mark and Ultimate. Adapt the order to the team’s needs and the reactions it can actually trigger.

- Reaction access: Check whether the lineup can activate Nova, Stain, and, with Incantation, Discord.
- Field-time plan: Decide who should use the main on-field damage window: Blackbird or another attacker.
- Damage style: Prefer coordinated off-field hits or damage over time according to the team’s goal.
- Support slot: Account for whether you need the lineup’s support or healing slot before committing to a damage-focused configuration.
NTEBUILD.COM’s version 1.4 tier list, marked updated September 30, 2026, labels “Blackbird Nova” T0 and lists Blackbird, Lacrimosa or Daffodill, Zankou, and Sakiri. This is that fan site’s assessment, not an official developer rating; its page says team ratings account for synergy, ease of access, and endgame performance.

Icy Veins gives different Awakening orders depending on Blackbird’s job. These are the guide author’s recommendations, and the guide notes that Awakenings can be changed to suit the use and situation.
