Black Wind vs. White Wind: What the Gekishin Squadra Skins Actually Change

Black Wind and White Wind are not new Saiyan transformations. They are limited-time Infinite Skin cosmetic series in DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA. The available announcements describe their appearance, rosters, team-role coverage and shop dates, but assign no transformation level, power multiplier, combat-stat increase or canon ranking. That means neither set can be responsibly called stronger than Super Saiyan Blue or Ultra Instinct.

What Black Wind and White Wind are

The names refer to two four-character skin series sold in the in-game shop, not to new stages of Saiyan evolution. The official Dragon Ball announcement labels them “Infinite Skin” series and describes their visual treatment as having “flickering neon green accents.” In this context, “Black Wind” and “White Wind” identify cosmetic collections applied to existing playable characters.

A transformation normally describes a character state in the story or a defined gameplay form with its own mechanics. The published material for these sets does neither. It does not introduce a new form in the Dragon Ball narrative, give a transformation multiplier, change a character’s established identity, or place either collection on a power ladder. The evidence supports a visual customization feature only.

This distinction matters because the names sound like form names. A player seeing a white or black visual effect may reasonably assume that the game has added another Saiyan tier. The official wording instead treats the names as product-series labels. The safest description is therefore: Black Wind and White Wind change how selected heroes look in Gekishin Squadra; they do not establish new story transformations or a new level of power.

Which characters are in each set?

Each collection contains four characters. The official announcement gives the complete rosters, while the Steam listing explains that the sets together cover a complete team structure of one Tank, two Damage characters and one Technical character. The available notices do not publish a separate role assignment for every individual skin in the announcements, so the reliable comparison is the aggregate team coverage rather than an invented character-by-character role table.

Skin series Characters named in the official announcement What the published description establishes
Black Wind Super Gogeta; Super Vegito; Super Saiyan Son Goku; Super Saiyan Vegeta A four-skin set. The Steam listing says the series participates in the full one-Tank, two-Damage, one-Technical team coverage.
White Wind Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku; Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta; Jiren (Full Power); Goku Black A four-skin set. The Steam listing says the series participates in the same full one-Tank, two-Damage, one-Technical team coverage.

The two rosters are deliberately different in character identity. Black Wind centers on fusion characters and Super Saiyan versions of Goku and Vegeta. White Wind includes the blue-haired Super Saiyan God SS versions of Goku and Vegeta, plus Jiren in his Full Power identity and Goku Black. Owning one set does not mean that the characters themselves become a different transformation; it means the listed characters receive the corresponding cosmetic treatment.

Black Wind versus White Wind: the comparison that is actually supported

Because the sets are cosmetics, the useful comparison is about presentation, roster preference, availability and team composition—not raw strength. The following table separates established facts from conclusions the sources do not support.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

On the evidence available, choosing between the sets is a cosmetic and roster decision. A player who prefers fusion characters may favor Black Wind. A player who wants the blue-haired Goku and Vegeta identities, Jiren (Full Power) and Goku Black may favor White Wind. Neither preference is a statement about which collection has greater attack power.

How the White Wind set relates to Super Saiyan Blue

“Super Saiyan Blue” is commonly used for the blue-haired form whose formal name is Super Saiyan God SS. The official announcement uses that formal name for the Goku and Vegeta characters in White Wind: Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku and Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta.

That naming tells you which existing character identities receive the skins. It does not say that White Wind creates a more advanced version of Super Saiyan Blue. The announcement does not attach a new level, multiplier, passive ability or damage value to the skin series. In practical terms, White Wind can dress a Super Saiyan God SS character in the new cosmetic style, but the word “White” is not evidence of a “White Super Saiyan” form.

The same caution applies to Black Wind. Super Gogeta, Super Vegito, Super Saiyan Son Goku and Super Saiyan Vegeta remain the named characters in the set. The black-themed series name does not convert them into a new black-haired, black-aura or otherwise higher transformation unless a future game notice explicitly adds such mechanics.

Why Ultra Instinct cannot be ranked against these skins

The published sources for Black Wind and White Wind do not discuss Ultra Instinct. They provide no matchup, tier list, multiplier, animation-based power claim or developer statement comparing either cosmetic series with Ultra Instinct.

It would therefore be misleading to write that White Wind is above, below or equal to Ultra Instinct. That conclusion would require evidence such as a documented stat change, a defined ability, a transformation rule or an explicit narrative ranking. None is supplied for these skins. The absence of a comparison is not a hidden power result; it is a limit of what the announcements establish.

Readers should also avoid treating visual intensity as a power measurement. Neon accents, a darker palette, a brighter aura or a more elaborate effect can make a skin look more dramatic without changing damage, defense, cooldowns or any other gameplay value. Unless the game publishes a mechanical change, appearance remains appearance.

Season 7 gameplay context: the separate Super Saiyan God SS addition

The same official update introduces Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku as the third new Season 7 hero and assigns him the Damage role. That is a gameplay addition, but it is separate from the Black Wind and White Wind cosmetic names.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The update also states that deploying Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku together with Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta under the stated conditions activates the merged “Kamehameha & Galick Gun” attack. This is a team interaction tied to the Season 7 heroes and their deployment conditions. It should not be presented as proof that the White Wind skin itself grants a new transformation or raises either character to an Ultra Instinct-like tier.

In other words, there are two distinct pieces of information in the update:

  • The game adds or features named playable heroes and a combined attack in Season 7.
  • The Black Wind and White Wind labels identify limited-time visual skin series for specified characters.

Combining those facts into a new power form would go beyond the published wording.

When the skins are available

The Steam news listing gives the shop period as October 14, 2026, at 06:00 UTC through November 4, 2026, at 05:59 UTC. That is a single stated availability window for the White Wind and Black Wind sets.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Convert the UTC times to your local time before planning a purchase. The end is early on November 4 in UTC, so a calendar date that appears to be November 4 in one region may already be outside the window elsewhere. The Dragon Ball Official Site also warns that event duration and content can change without prior notice. Check the live in-game shop before buying or relying on the event’s final day.

The announcements reviewed do not state a recurring schedule, a guaranteed rerun, a permanent unlock, an individual-skin purchase option or a price. Do not assume that a missed set will return on a fixed date or that every character can be bought separately unless the current shop screen says so.

How to choose between Black Wind and White Wind

Use a cosmetic decision process rather than a transformation ranking. These checks answer the practical questions the published information can support.

  1. Start with the roster. Choose Black Wind if the four listed characters—Super Gogeta, Super Vegito, Super Saiyan Son Goku and Super Saiyan Vegeta—are the characters whose appearance you want to change. Choose White Wind if you prefer Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku, Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta, Jiren (Full Power) and Goku Black.
  2. Check your team plan. The Steam listing describes each set as covering the complete one-Tank, two-Damage, one-Technical structure. Confirm that the characters you actually deploy fit your preferred lineup; the set description alone does not publish every individual role assignment.
  3. Inspect the live preview. Look at the in-game model, effects and animation treatment. The official announcement highlights flickering neon green accents, but a shop preview is the authoritative place to see how those effects appear on your platform.
  4. Verify the shop timer. Use the displayed countdown and current event notice rather than relying only on a saved calendar date, because the official site says event timing and content can change without prior notice.
  5. Separate cosmetics from mechanics. Do not pay for a set expecting a transformation multiplier, an Ultra Instinct interaction or a hidden stat boost unless the current game description explicitly lists one.

Common claims that the available evidence does not support

Claim What can actually be said
“Black Wind is a new Saiyan transformation.” It is identified as an Infinite Skin cosmetic series.
“White Wind is a stronger form of Super Saiyan Blue.” White Wind includes characters formally named Super Saiyan God SS, but no stronger form or stat increase is published.
“White Wind beats Ultra Instinct.” The sources do not discuss Ultra Instinct or provide a ranking.
“The black and white names indicate different power tiers.” The names distinguish two cosmetic collections and their rosters; no tier system is attached to them.
“The new skins permanently change Season 7 heroes.” The Season 7 hero and team-attack information is separate from the limited-time skin series.
“The sets will definitely return after the event.” No recurring schedule or guaranteed rerun is stated.

What would be needed for a real power comparison?

A defensible comparison with Super Saiyan Blue or Ultra Instinct would need published mechanical or narrative evidence that these skin names do not currently provide. Useful evidence would include an official transformation designation, a character-stat sheet showing a change caused by the skin, a skill description with altered damage or defense, a developer explanation of the form’s place in the story, or a clearly defined in-game tier interaction.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Until such information appears, the correct analytical boundary is straightforward: compare Black Wind and White Wind by their four-character rosters, visual effects, team-role coverage and limited shop window. Treat transformation power, multipliers, canon status and Ultra Instinct superiority as unestablished rather than filling the gap with speculation.

Bottom line for players

Black Wind and White Wind are time-limited cosmetic collections in DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA. Black Wind covers Super Gogeta, Super Vegito, Super Saiyan Son Goku and Super Saiyan Vegeta. White Wind covers Super Saiyan God SS Son Goku, Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta, Jiren (Full Power) and Goku Black. Both are described as four-skin sets with full Tank/Damage/Technical team coverage, and neither has a published power multiplier or canon transformation ranking.

White Wind’s Super Saiyan God SS names identify the blue-haired characters receiving the skins; they do not announce a form stronger than Super Saiyan Blue. Ultra Instinct is not addressed in the available notices, so no winner can be declared. For a purchase decision, use the roster you play, the appearance you prefer and the live shop timer—not an assumed power scale.
