Bitwise said its spot NEAR fund, the Bitwise NEAR ETF (NYSE: NRR), would begin trading on NYSE Arca on September 29, 2026. Separately, TechBullion reported on October 2 that Remittix plans to debut RTX on November 24. The ETF details are backed by Bitwise’s announcement and prospectus; the Remittix date and product updates remain claims attributed to TechBullion, not independently confirmed launch information.

When did the NEAR Protocol ETF debut?

Bitwise announced that the Bitwise NEAR ETF, ticker NRR, would start trading on NYSE Arca on September 29, 2026. The fund is designed to provide spot exposure to NEAR through shares in a trust holding the cryptocurrency. This is a sponsor-announced trading start, not evidence of how the fund has performed since launch.

Fee and staking approach

Bitwise disclosed a 0.75% management fee. The sponsor says it intends to stake the fund’s NEAR in-house. Staking rewards belong to the trust and accrue to shareholders through an increase in the fund’s net asset value (NAV) per share; they are not described as a guaranteed cash distribution.

Bitwise cited an approximately 5% average staking reward rate, based on an annualized rate as of September 25, 2026, using official NEAR onchain metrics. That figure is an estimate of staking rewards at that point in time—not a promised return or NRR performance. Bitwise says rewards can change and are not guaranteed.

What the fund does—and does not—promise

The prospectus describes NRR’s primary objective as providing exposure to the value of the NEAR it holds, less expenses. Its secondary objective is to derive additional NEAR through staking. Neither objective guarantees a positive return. NEAR’s price can fall, and NRR shares trade at market prices that can differ from the trust’s NAV.

The prospectus also identifies risks involving volatility, liquidity, regulation, blockchain technology and staking. Staking-related risks include lost rewards, slashing penalties and operational uncertainty. These risks sit alongside the possibility that the ETF’s market price may not match the value of its holdings.

When will Remittix launch RTX?

TechBullion reported on October 2, 2026, that Remittix planned an RTX debut for November 24. That date is a reported plan, not a confirmed launch: the claim was not independently corroborated by an official Remittix source here. Readers should treat it accordingly rather than assume RTX will be available on that date.

What Remittix products can buyers follow before launch?

The same TechBullion article said Remittix’s iOS wallet and Markets platform were available and that PayFi testing was opening to invited existing holders. Those availability and testing claims also come from that article and were not independently verified. They should not be read as confirmation that the services are broadly available or that testing is open to everyone.

How NRR differs from holding NEAR directly

An ETF share and a NEAR token are different ways to obtain exposure. The practical differences include who handles custody and operations, how exposure is delivered, how staking is treated, and what fees or trading-price differences apply.

Consideration NRR shares Direct NEAR ownership
What you hold Shares in a trust designed to reflect the value of its NEAR holdings, less expenses. NEAR tokens themselves.
Custody and operations The trust holds the NEAR; Bitwise says it intends to stake the fund’s holdings in-house. The token holder is responsible for arranging custody and any staking activity.
Fee Bitwise disclosed a 0.75% management fee. Not stated in the cited NRR materials; costs depend on how the tokens are acquired, held or staked.
Staking rewards Rewards accrue to the trust through NAV per share and are not guaranteed; the prospectus also warns of staking risks. Any rewards depend on the holder’s chosen arrangements and applicable network or service conditions.
Trading and valuation ETF shares trade on NYSE Arca; their market price may differ from NAV. Tokens trade in digital-asset markets; this comparison does not establish a particular venue or price relationship.

NRR may suit someone seeking NEAR exposure through exchange-traded shares rather than managing tokens directly, but the fund adds its management fee and the possibility of a market-price/NAV difference. Direct ownership avoids buying an ETF share but puts custody and operating choices on the holder. Neither route removes NEAR’s underlying price risk.
