Choose the BISSELL Little Green 1400B if you want a lighter portable cleaner for occasional spills, upholstery, stairs, or car interiors. Choose the Little Green Pet Pro 3909 if its larger listed tanks and pet-focused tools better match frequent cleanup. Both are corded spot cleaners; this comparison is based on BISSELL’s published specifications, not a hands-on head-to-head test.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the Little Green 1400B for lighter, occasional cleanup
At 9.65 lb with a 48 oz clean-water tank, the 1400B is the more suitable pick if you expect short jobs and value carrying a lighter machine. Its listed kit includes a tough-stain tool, spraying crevice tool, and HydroRinse hose tool. It is a practical fit for occasional spills, upholstery, stairs, and vehicle interiors, provided the surface can be cleaned with a water-based machine.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteChoose the Pet Pro 3909 for recurring pet messes and larger listed tanks
The Pet Pro is listed with a 64 oz clean tank, a 48 oz dirty tank, and an 11 lb weight. Its kit includes a pet-hair removal tool and a self-cleaning tough-stain tool, alongside a spraying crevice tool. Those features make it the stronger specification match if you clean frequently or want tools aimed at pet hair and post-use tool cleanup; they do not guarantee a better result on every stain.

What the suction claim does—and does not—tell you
BISSELL describes the Pet Pro as having the strongest suction versus leading portable deep cleaners, based on ASTM F558 sealed suction measured at the hose. That is a specified hose-suction comparison, not a direct independent test showing that the 3909 removes stains better than the 1400B in real-world use. The published material reviewed here does not establish a head-to-head stain-removal winner.

Check fit, care instructions, and package details before buying
- Confirm the exact SKU and kit. Tool inclusions can vary by package. The 1400B page states a 4 ft hose in its specifications but says 4.5 ft in newer descriptive marketing copy, so verify the package listing if hose reach matters.
- Plan around the cord. Both models list a 15 ft power cord and require an outlet.
- Check the fabric care label. BISSELL says water-based cleaning is generally suitable for upholstery marked W or WS in its Pet Pro FAQ. Follow the upholstery manufacturer’s label; do not assume every fabric is safe to wet-clean.
- Use the right formula. Use a formula intended for portable carpet cleaners, following both the machine manual and the bottle directions. BISSELL lists portable-cleaner formulas on both product pages.
- Verify warranty and support for your model. BISSELL’s 1400B Product Support and Pet Pro 3909 Product Support identify the relevant support families and provide routes to manuals, parts, and warranty resources. The product-page warranty information reviewed here confirms a three-year limited warranty for the 3909 only; it does not establish the 1400B’s warranty.
