Bigscreen says attention around Valve’s Steam Frame launch drove increased demand for its Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e headsets, while its October 9, 2026 production update pushed the largest Halo Mount shipment estimate back by one to two weeks. The company did not disclose sales totals, and its shipping dates remain estimates.
What Bigscreen says happened to Beyond 2 sales
In its October 9 production update, Bigscreen said: “The launch of the Steam Frame has brought massive demand for the Bigscreen Beyond 2 and 2e. We’ve been selling more units per day than we did during the 2025 holiday season!” That is the manufacturer’s account of its own sales; it gave no unit totals, so the size of the increase cannot be independently assessed from the post.

Bigscreen had offered a possible explanation in a September 25 post. It said some people researching Steam Frame might be upgrading from a Valve Index or another SteamVR headset, while others might choose Beyond 2 for long VRChat sessions or sim-racing. The company also pointed to the headset’s lack of a battery as a benefit for extended use. These are Bigscreen’s suggested reasons, not findings from disclosed buyer research.
In its April 16 update, Bigscreen said Beyond SteamVR usage was 12X higher in early 2026 than in early 2024, based on its comparison of SteamVR Hardware Survey usage. That is a usage comparison, not a sales figure. Separately, the company said in July that it had shipped more than 50,000 orders since it first began shipping in 2023; that milestone does not specify Beyond 2 unit sales.

When the Halo Mount is expected to ship
The October 9 update moved the estimate for the largest October Halo Mount shipments back by one to two weeks. Bigscreen still expected to catch up on the preorder backlog in November. For new orders placed at the time of that update, it estimated shipment in December. These are forecasts, not guaranteed delivery dates; Bigscreen directs customers to its store page for the latest shipping information.
The same update gave separate headset availability estimates: the Universal-Fit Cushion was sold out, with a restock expected in about six weeks; the Universal-Fit Light Seal was in stock, and headsets configured with either the Light Seal or Custom-Fit Cushion were expected to ship in two to three business days. These are dated statements from October 9, not current inventory guarantees.

Why the mount schedule changed
Bigscreen’s July 17 update identified a potential weakness in the Halo Mount’s plastic “sledge link,” which the company said could break, particularly if used accidentally in a way it was not designed for. Bigscreen estimated the failure mode could affect 2–5% of customers and said it was changing the link from injection-molded plastic to injection-molded metal, which required more manufacturing time.

What to check before ordering a Beyond 2 or Beyond 2e
Bigscreen’s September 25 post listed the Beyond 2 from $959 with the Universal-Fit Cushion and the Beyond 2e from $1,159, and said both were then in stock with shipment in one to seven business days. Those are dated prices and shipping statements, not confirmed current offers. The October update’s later availability note was specific to cushion and headset configurations.

Fit choice matters. Bigscreen says its Light Seal may not suit every face shape and recommends the paired firm and soft Universal-Fit Cushion for most people. Its April description says the Halo Mount can be used with several cushion types or without one, but the available information does not provide a configuration-by-configuration comparison of eye relief, field of view, price, and shipping. Check the current product and checkout pages for the exact configuration before buying.
