BGMI tournament hosting checklist: brackets, rooms, rules and result verification

Run a reliable BGMI tournament by fixing the roster and rules first, choosing a bracket that fits your field, releasing room details on a predictable schedule, and requiring verifiable end-screen evidence. The workflow below covers registration through final standings, including events with more than 64 players.

Start with the event brief

Publish one versioned rules document before registration opens. It should answer the questions that otherwise create disputes: game mode, map pool, perspective, squad size, number of matches, lobby capacity, bracket format, advancement, scoring, tiebreakers, device policy, conduct standards, room-access timing, restart policy, evidence requirements and protest deadlines.

Give the document a version number and timestamp every correction. If a rule changes after registration, highlight the change and obtain captain acknowledgement. Do not rely on an announcement buried in a chat channel; the event brief is the controlling record.

Assign operational roles

  • Room administrator: creates and tests custom rooms, assigns slots, releases credentials and records join status.
  • Score administrator: enters placement and finish points, keeps the standings sheet and performs a second-person check.
  • Dispute reviewer: receives protests, checks screenshots or recordings and logs each decision.
  • Event lead: owns schedule changes, restart decisions and publication of provisional and final results.

Lock the roster and eligibility rules

Collect every player’s exact in-game UID, current nickname, squad, captain contact and registration name. A single-character mismatch can make identity verification difficult, so copy the UID directly from the game where possible. Record each approved player in a master roster and assign a team or slot identifier.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

KRAFTON’s official competition rules require roster submission before competition and generally lock changes after the registration period. Allow substitutions only under the exceptions stated in the rules, and record the approving administrator, original player, replacement and reason in an admin log.

State device and region limits

Write eligibility in operational language rather than assuming players know the convention. Specify whether the event is phone-only, whether tablets or emulators are prohibited, the eligible age or region, and what happens when the in-game identity does not match the registration.

Publish the prohibited-conduct list before sign-up. Fair-play policies for BGMI events commonly prohibit mods, hacks, emulator use in non-emulator matches, glitch abuse, teaming, stream-sniping and other attempts to gain an unfair advantage. State the consequence—match loss, disqualification, prize cancellation or another defined sanction—and the evidence standard used to apply it.

Registration fields to keep

  • Player UID and exact nickname
  • Squad name and captain contact
  • Assigned flight, lobby and slot number
  • Device declaration and region or age confirmation, where applicable
  • Captain acknowledgement of the rules version

Choose a bracket that fits the field

For up to 64 individual players, or up to 16 four-player squads, one lobby is the simplest arrangement when the game mode and room capacity support it. A clearly defined multi-lobby league also works when you need repeated matches rather than a single elimination round.

When a leg exceeds 64 players, use seeded or random flights (also called group pools), then advance a published number of teams or players from each flight to a final. A published BGMI rulebook describes this draw-based group-pool format for legs above 64 participants. Treat it as a format example, not a permanent capacity guarantee: confirm the current game room limit and competition rules before announcing your bracket.

Define advancement before registration closes

Your bracket must state the number of flights, players or teams per flight, number of matches in each stage, and exactly how many advance. Explain whether seeding is based on registration order, prior results, a random draw or a qualifying score. Publish the draw time and a method for recording it, such as a numbered spreadsheet or livestreamed randomizer.

Include the tie rule at the advancement boundary. For example, if four teams advance from each flight and two teams tie for fourth, specify whether the published tiebreak sequence decides the place or whether an additional match is played. Do not improvise this after scores are known.

Build a complete schedule

Milestone What to publish or record
Registration close Final time for entries and corrections
Roster lock Locked list, approved exceptions and version number
Check-in Captain confirmation, assigned flight and slot
Room release Room ID, password, map, perspective and join deadline
Match start Actual start time and any approved delay
Screenshot deadline Cutoff for end-screen evidence uploads
Provisional standings Time the score sheet will be posted
Protest window Opening and closing time, submission channel and reviewer
Final standings Time results become final and archived

Publish the scoring table and tiebreak order

Use one scoring table for every lobby and put it in the event brief. The KRAFTON rulebook assigns placement points as follows:

Placement Placement points
1st 10
2nd 6
3rd 5
4th 4
5th 3
6th 2
7th–8th 1
9th–16th 0

Every finish is worth 1 point. Express the calculation as total score = placement points + finish points. A team finishing second with seven finishes therefore receives 6 placement points plus 7 finish points, for 13 total points.

Use the official tiebreak sequence unless you publish a different one

  1. Number of first-place finishes
  2. Accumulated placement points
  3. Accumulated finishes
  4. Placement in the most competitions

If your community event uses another sequence, display the difference prominently and obtain captain sign-off before the first match. Keep placement points and finish points in separate columns so an arithmetic correction can be audited without changing the underlying match result.

Prepare and operate custom rooms

Create each custom room early enough to test the map, perspective, team slots, spectator permissions and match settings. Capture an admin screenshot of the configured room before players join. Prepare a slot sheet that maps every team to its assigned number and flight.

Release credentials at a fixed time

Published event rules commonly release the Room ID and password about 10 minutes before match start. Use that interval as your standard unless your own brief states another time. Send the credentials through one primary channel and one backup channel, and repeat the slot assignment beside the team name. Announce the hard close time for joining.

For an invite-only event, do not paste credentials into an uncontrolled public chat. Limit spectators to approved casters or admins, and state whether observers are allowed at all. Keep an admin capture showing when the ID and password were sent.

Use a check-in sheet

  1. Mark captain confirmation at the published check-in time.
  2. Verify the captain’s UID and squad against the locked roster.
  3. Record the assigned flight and slot number.
  4. Mark room join and ready status.
  5. Initial exceptions, late joins or approved slot changes.

State in advance what happens after a disconnect, a missed slot or a late join. Also state whether a technical restart is possible, who can authorize it and which evidence is required. Without a written rule, restarting for one team can appear unfair to every other team.

Collect evidence that proves the result

Require the team leader to submit an unedited, full end-screen screenshot for every match. The image must show placement and finishes, and it must retain enough of the interface to connect the result to the correct match and team. Cropped images that hide the scoreboard should be rejected.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Published event rules explicitly warn that fake or edited screenshots can lead to immediate disqualification. For suspected hacking or other unfair play, request the original in-game recording rather than relying on a still image. Preserve the original file, upload time, team UID, match number and the administrator who received it.

Recommended evidence record

  • Original end-screen file, not a re-saved or annotated copy
  • Match number, lobby or flight and team UID
  • Upload timestamp before the stated deadline
  • Placement and finish count visible in the same frame
  • Recording or replay file when a conduct complaint is raised
  • Admin note linking the evidence to the score-sheet row

Enter, check and publish standings

Enter each team’s placement and finishes separately, then calculate placement points from the published table. Have a second administrator re-enter the values or check the formula before posting. A two-person check catches transposed placements, duplicate rows and missed finish points.

Post provisional standings after every round. Include the match or flight, each component of the score, cumulative total and any provisional penalty. Give captains a fixed protest window and identify the reviewer. Keep arithmetic corrections separate from conduct rulings: correcting a score entry should not silently change a cheating decision, and a conduct ruling should cite the evidence and rule applied.

Resolve protests consistently

  1. Log the protest time, captain, match and issue.
  2. Check whether it arrived before the published deadline.
  3. Compare the screenshot or recording with the room and score records.
  4. Classify the issue as arithmetic, identity, technical, or conduct-related.
  5. Record the decision, evidence reviewed, rule applied and administrator.
  6. Update the provisional sheet and notify affected captains.

After the protest window closes, publish final standings and archive the roster, room records, evidence, score versions and decision log. Do not overwrite the provisional file; retain both versions so the final change history is clear.

Failure modes and practical fixes

A player cannot join the room

Check the UID, nickname, slot number and credential timestamp against the check-in sheet. If the player joined late, apply the published late-join rule rather than making a one-off exception. Document any approved correction.

A screenshot shows a different score than the sheet

Freeze the affected row, compare the original file and match number, and recalculate placement and finish points independently. Correct the arithmetic in a new version of the sheet and note who approved it.

Two teams tie for an advancement place

Apply the tiebreak order stated in the event brief. If the rules require a decider match, schedule it before publishing the next stage. Never introduce a new criterion after seeing the tied totals.

A cheating or glitch complaint arrives

Preserve the original recording, screenshots, room information and chat logs. Keep the accused team’s result provisional while the designated reviewer applies the fair-play rule. Possible sanctions include disqualification, prize cancellation or invalidation of a match reward where the published policy allows it.

A device loses power

Require players to arrive with adequate charge and backup power. An event checklist specifically names a power bank as required preparedness for LAN participants. State that personal power loss is handled under the technical-failure rule unless the organizer caused a wider outage.

Master organizer checklist

  • Publish format, maps, lobby count, advancement and tiebreakers.
  • Collect exact UID, nickname, captain contact and squad roster.
  • Lock the roster at the announced time and log exceptions.
  • Publish phone, tablet, emulator, region, conduct and spectator rules.
  • Create and test rooms, assign slots and prepare a backup channel.
  • Release credentials on schedule, normally about 10 minutes before start.
  • Record captain check-in, room join, ready status and admin initials.
  • Capture room configuration and every end screen.
  • Require unedited evidence and retain recordings for suspected unfair play.
  • Enter placement and finish points twice or use a second-person check.
  • Post provisional standings and enforce the stated protest deadline.
  • Archive final results, evidence, rule versions and decisions.

What to verify before the next event

Game updates and competition-specific rules can change map pools, room features, eligibility, capacity and scoring. Before publishing a new season, check the current KRAFTON rulebook and the rules of the specific competition. Keep your local event brief aligned with those current requirements, especially when using a format designed for more than 64 participants.
