The two main options serve different purposes. Xbox says its Series X|S Storage Expansion Cards match the internal SSD’s performance. A USB external hard drive can add storage, but it should not be treated as an equivalent performance option. Check the requirements for each game before deciding where to install it or whether it needs to be moved.

Headsets: match the connection and audio features to your needs
A headset can make voice chat more convenient and give you a more personal listening setup. The Xbox Stereo Headset is listed for Series X|S and connects through the 3.5 mm audio jack on the Xbox Wireless Controller. Displays: check the screen, not just the console
Xbox specifies 4K gaming, up to 120 FPS, HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low-latency mode (ALLM) for Series X. Those are console capabilities, not a guarantee that a particular TV or monitor can use them. Before replacing or upgrading a screen, confirm its own resolution, refresh rate, HDMI features, and support for the modes you care about.
