There is no single best Xbox-and-PC preset for every Gears of War game. If camera movement is what makes you uncomfortable, try turning camera shake off in Gears of War: Reloaded; a Windows Central reviewer reported that the change helped them feel comfortable and focus, though individual results vary. Other useful options depend on the release, platform, and the controls it actually offers.
Start with the setting causing discomfort
Change one setting at a time, then play briefly to see whether it helps. That makes it easier to identify what is working for you rather than assuming a preset will suit everyone. The options and menu paths below are tied to specific releases: do not assume that a control documented for Gears of War: E-Day or Gears 5 also appears in Reloaded.

If camera shake makes you uncomfortable
For Gears of War: Reloaded, Windows Central Managing Editor Richard Devine reports that the camera-shake control is in the game settings menu, not display settings. Look in that menu for the camera-shake option and turn it off if available in your build. Devine described his personal response: “I’m comfortable again, I can focus properly, and I can play the game for more than a few moments at a time.” That is one reviewer’s experience, not a medical claim or a guaranteed result for other players. If controller inputs are uncomfortable
Reloaded supports controller button rebinding, according to Windows Central’s review. Use remapping to put frequently used actions where they are easier for you to reach, if the option is present in your version. The E-Day guide documents controller aiming options that include toggle aim and aim-assist choices; those are distinct from remapping and are not evidence that Reloaded has the same controls.
Improve readability without assuming every game has the same options
Turn on subtitles if they help you follow dialogue, then look for text size, color, and background controls in the specific game. Microsoft’s Xbox Accessibility Guideline 104 recommends scalable subtitle text and a background whose opacity can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent. There is a specific limitation in Gears of War: Reloaded: Windows Central reports that subtitle and ammunition text size cannot be adjusted. If those elements are too small, the review does not establish an in-game size control to fix them. E-Day’s official guide lists subtitles and subtitle-size options, so check that release’s guide rather than expecting the same behavior in Reloaded.

Color distinction
Windows Central’s Reloaded review says team-marker and damage-indicator colors can be changed. If those indicators are difficult to distinguish, look for their color options in that game’s settings. The official E-Day guide lists color options and threat indicators, but the available choices and menu path may differ between releases.

Audio balance
For E-Day, the official accessibility guide documents separate audio controls for music, dialogue, effects, and environmental audio. Adjust the relevant slider if a particular sound category is distracting or difficult to hear. Do not assume that Reloaded exposes the same individual sliders; the cited review does not establish that.

The available evidence does not establish complete Xbox-and-PC settings parity for every Gears of War release, or a universal best preset. Reloaded is available on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, but a setting documented for one release or platform should not be presented as universal. Confirm the option and its location in the exact game and build you are using.

- Camera movement: Look for a camera-shake control in the game that is causing discomfort.
- Controller comfort: Check for remapping, toggle aim, or aiming assistance; these are different kinds of controls and availability varies by release.
- Readability: Enable subtitles and use size or background controls only if the game provides them.
- Color and sound: Use the relevant indicator colors or audio sliders where the specific release exposes them.
