Should you switch from Words With Friends?
Not necessarily. If you already enjoy the classic friend match, Zynga still describes friend challenges and matching as part of Words With Friends, alongside Solo Challenge, themed challenges and other competitive modes. Staying with the original avoids asking your group to move to a different app; Wordfeud is a strong alternative when the board-game format and a high number of concurrent matches matter more than keeping the familiar title.

Is there a word game you can play with a friend in a browser?
Webfeud’s official site describes browser play and invitations through Twitter, Facebook or email, making it a possible option when someone in your group would rather not play through a phone app. It says the game supports 27 languages and includes leaderboards. Those details come from the site, whose footer is dated 2014 and which still mentions legacy devices such as Windows Phone 7.
