Choose a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard that includes its own USB receiver if you need the highest-probability match for a Lenovo ThinkCentre M910 SFF. The desktop has documented USB ports, while Bluetooth was optional and configuration-dependent. A Bluetooth keyboard can work, but only after you confirm that your particular M910 SFF has Bluetooth hardware and that it is enabled in Windows.
This guide explains the connection choices, what to verify before buying, how to set up either type, and what to do when pairing or recognition fails. It does not rank current keyboard models by feel, battery life, latency, price, or durability because those characteristics are not established for this computer or tested here.

What Lenovo’s M910 SFF specifications actually establish
Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M910 SFF Platform Specifications (August 2017) list “Some: Lenovo Calliope Wireless Keyboard (2.4GHz via USB receiver), black.” That entry shows that Lenovo designed at least some M910 SFF configurations to use a wireless keyboard with a dedicated 2.4GHz receiver. It is evidence of a compatible connection type, not proof that the Calliope is still sold or that it is the best current retail keyboard.

| USB connectivity | Four front and four rear USB 3.1 Gen1 ports are listed in the 2017 Lenovo PSREF; optional port configurations existed. | A receiver-based keyboard has a documented host connection path. Check the ports on your individual tower before purchase. |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth 4.1 appears on some configurations as part of a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter; Lenovo also marks Bluetooth as optional in support information. | Bluetooth is not guaranteed on every M910 SFF. Confirm hardware and Windows availability first. |
| Preloaded operating systems | Windows 7 Professional, Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home are listed as options in the 2017 platform specification. | Do not assume every later Windows release, edition or third-party driver has been validated by that document. |
| Document status | The PSREF is dated August 2017, notes regional variation, and the current product page identifies the model as withdrawn. | Use it to understand the platform, not as a current-stock or current-price list. |
Those facts lead to a practical order of preference: a standard 2.4GHz keyboard with an included USB receiver first; Bluetooth only when your machine’s configuration confirms support; wired USB as the fallback when wireless is unnecessary or unavailable.

2.4GHz receiver or Bluetooth: which connection fits your desktop?
2.4GHz wireless keyboards with a USB receiver
A receiver keyboard has two separate pieces: the keyboard and a small USB dongle. The dongle handles the radio link and appears to Windows as a USB input device. Because the M910 SFF platform documents multiple USB ports, this approach does not depend on the tower having Bluetooth hardware.
- Best for unknown configurations: it avoids the M910 SFF’s optional-Bluetooth issue.
- Check the package: some wireless keyboards use Bluetooth only, and some receiver models pair to a proprietary dongle. The receiver must be included and compatible with that keyboard.
- Use a direct port first: plug the receiver into a tower USB port rather than assuming a hub, monitor or docking accessory will provide reliable startup recognition.
- Budget one USB port: the receiver remains connected while you use the keyboard.
The phrase “wireless” alone is not enough. The product listing should explicitly say “2.4GHz” and “USB receiver” (or “USB dongle”) and identify the receiver as included.
Bluetooth keyboards
Bluetooth removes the dedicated dongle, which can be useful when every USB port is occupied. However, Lenovo lists Bluetooth 4.1 only on some M910 SFF configurations, through an optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter. A Bluetooth-only keyboard is therefore conditional, not a universal recommendation for this desktop.

- Verify Bluetooth in the machine’s original configuration or service information.
- In Windows, look for a Bluetooth section in Settings or Control Panel and an adapter in Device Manager.
- If there is no adapter, a Bluetooth keyboard will not pair without adding compatible Bluetooth hardware.
- Do not treat the presence of Wi-Fi alone as proof that Bluetooth is installed; the 2017 specification describes a combined adapter on some systems.
Bluetooth can be a sensible second choice after those checks. It is not safer than a receiver keyboard when the computer’s configuration is unknown.
How to choose a current keyboard without relying on unsupported rankings
No current model has been tested with this article, so compare the specifications that affect compatibility and daily use rather than looking for an unverified “best” brand.
1. Confirm the connection method
For the lowest-risk purchase, select a model that clearly states 2.4GHz wireless via USB receiver. Avoid listings that say only “wireless” unless the detailed specifications identify the radio and receiver. If you prefer Bluetooth, confirm that the keyboard supports the Bluetooth mode your computer can use and that it does not require a separate vendor hub.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
2. Confirm that the receiver is included
Receiver and keyboard are commonly paired at the factory. A replacement receiver may not work just because it has the same shape. Check the contents list for one USB receiver and keep it with the keyboard when moving the desktop. If a listing offers “keyboard only,” it may require an existing receiver that you do not have.

3. Match the layout to your work
Choose a full-size layout when you enter numbers frequently or need a dedicated navigation cluster. A tenkeyless or compact layout saves desk space but moves or removes the number pad. Check the language and physical layout (for example, key legends, Enter-key shape and placement of punctuation) before ordering; Windows’ keyboard-language setting cannot change the printed legends on the hardware.
4. Check power and charging details
Record whether the keyboard uses replaceable batteries or a rechargeable battery, what cable is supplied for charging, and whether it can be used while charging. These are product-specific specifications that Lenovo’s M910 SFF documentation does not establish, so verify them on the current product page. A battery indicator or low-power warning is useful for an unattended desktop, but its availability varies by model.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
5. Check physical placement and USB access
The M910 SFF is a small-form-factor tower. Make sure the receiver can remain plugged in without being blocked by a neighboring cable or a wall. If the tower sits under a desk, a short USB extension can reposition a receiver, but treat that as an accessory choice rather than a guaranteed fix. Confirm that at least one usable USB port remains after connecting your other devices.
6. Treat operating-system claims narrowly
Lenovo’s 2017 platform document lists Windows 7 Professional, Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home as preload options. That does not certify every later Windows version, every edition, or every optional keyboard utility. Basic USB keyboards generally rely on standard input support, but consult the keyboard maker’s current compatibility statement if it requires special software, macro keys or a configuration app.

Step-by-step setup for a 2.4GHz USB-receiver keyboard
- Inspect the package. Find the keyboard’s USB receiver, battery or charging information, and any pairing instructions. If the receiver is missing, stop and contact the seller rather than assuming another dongle will work.
- Prepare the keyboard. Install the specified batteries or charge the keyboard. Set its power switch to the operating position.
- Choose a tower USB port. Start with an available front or rear USB port on the M910 SFF. Lenovo’s 2017 specification lists four front and four rear USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, but optional configurations mean your physical system may differ.
- Insert the receiver directly. Push the dongle fully into the port. Avoid a passive hub during initial setup so that an extra device is not part of the diagnosis.
- Allow Windows to detect it. Wait for the operating system to install its standard keyboard device. Do not repeatedly remove and reinsert the receiver while detection is in progress.
- Test ordinary keys. Open a text field and test letters, numbers, Enter, Backspace and the arrow keys. Then test the number pad or media keys if those features matter to you.
- Install optional software only if needed. If the keyboard works as a standard input device, special configuration software is not required for basic typing. Use only software identified by the keyboard manufacturer.
Step-by-step setup for Bluetooth
- Confirm the adapter. In Windows, open Settings and look for Bluetooth & devices (the exact wording varies by Windows release). Also check Device Manager for a Bluetooth category or adapter. Lenovo documents Bluetooth 4.1 on some configurations, not all.
- Turn Bluetooth on. Enable the adapter and make sure Airplane mode or a hardware wireless switch is not disabling it.
- Put the keyboard in pairing mode. Follow the keyboard’s instructions; this usually involves holding a pairing key until an indicator flashes. The exact key sequence is model-specific.
- Add the device in Windows. Choose Add device, select Bluetooth, then select the keyboard name when it appears. If Windows displays a code, type that code on the keyboard and press Enter.
- Test and label the pairing. Type in a text field, then note which keyboard entry is paired if you use more than one. Keep the keyboard charged or replace batteries according to its instructions.
If Windows has no Bluetooth controls and Device Manager shows no adapter, do not keep retrying pairing. Recheck the M910 SFF configuration or use a USB-receiver keyboard instead.
Windows version, login and firmware limitations
The 2017 Lenovo specification names Windows 7 Professional, Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home as preload choices. It does not establish support for every later Windows release or guarantee that a third-party utility will install on those systems. For ordinary typing, prefer a keyboard that advertises standard USB or standard Bluetooth input and does not make a proprietary application mandatory.
The available material does not verify whether any particular wireless keyboard functions in the M910 SFF’s firmware setup, boot menu or pre-login screen. Do not buy on the assumption that a wireless device will work before Windows loads. Keep a wired USB keyboard available if you must enter BIOS settings, recover a system or troubleshoot Windows without relying on radio pairing.

The receiver is not detected
- Move the receiver to another physical USB port on the tower.
- Check whether the keyboard’s power switch is on and its battery is charged.
- Remove the receiver from a hub or monitor and connect it directly to the desktop.
- Test the receiver and keyboard together; a different receiver may not be paired to this keyboard.
- Restart Windows with the receiver connected, then test again.
Some keys work, but special keys do not
- Test standard letters and navigation keys first to separate basic input from optional features.
- Check the keyboard’s manual for a function-layer lock or a required configuration utility.
- Verify that Windows is using the intended keyboard layout and language.
Bluetooth pairing fails
- Confirm that the M910 SFF actually has a Bluetooth adapter; Lenovo identifies it as optional.
- Remove an old keyboard entry from Windows and repeat pairing mode.
- Move the keyboard close to the tower during pairing and turn off other nearby devices temporarily.
- Replace or charge the battery, then retry.
- If Bluetooth controls or an adapter are absent, switch to a USB-receiver keyboard rather than treating the failure as a keyboard defect.
The keyboard stops responding after moving the tower
Check that the receiver remained in the tower, that no USB cable is pressing against it, and that the keyboard has power. If the receiver was lost, replacement compatibility depends on the keyboard model; a generic dongle is not automatically interchangeable.
When a wired USB keyboard is the better answer
A wired USB keyboard is a practical fallback when the desktop lacks Bluetooth, a receiver is missing, batteries are inconvenient, or you need predictable input during firmware and recovery work. Lenovo lists USB keyboards among its options and documents USB ports on the platform. It gives up cable-free placement, but removes radio pairing and battery management from the setup.
Buyer checklist
- Does the listing explicitly specify 2.4GHz and include a USB receiver?
- Have you confirmed an available, accessible USB port on your individual M910 SFF?
- If choosing Bluetooth, have you verified an installed and enabled Bluetooth adapter?
- Is the physical layout correct for your language and work, including number-pad needs?
- Are battery type, charging method and replacement availability acceptable?
- Does the manufacturer state compatibility with your Windows edition, especially if special software is required?
- Have you avoided assuming support in BIOS, boot menus or the login screen?
- Do you have a wired USB keyboard available for recovery or configuration work?
Bottom line
For most ThinkCentre M910 SFF owners, the safest purchase is a standard 2.4GHz wireless keyboard with its own USB receiver. It matches Lenovo’s documented historical configuration and uses the tower’s documented USB connection without depending on optional Bluetooth. Choose Bluetooth only after confirming that your particular M910 SFF includes and enables Bluetooth; otherwise, a receiver model—or a wired USB keyboard for maximum simplicity—is the more defensible choice.
