1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a self-managed VPS in India, Hostinger is the clearest option in the available published plan details: its India page lists a KVM 1 with 4 TB of bandwidth, but the displayed monthly price applies to a two-year upfront term and renews at a higher rate. AWS Lightsail is another candidate, though its Mumbai-region bundles include half the transfer allowance shown for the corresponding bundles. Neither listing establishes end-to-end streaming reliability, and this is not a ranking of the entire Indian VPS market.
For a 24/7 prerecorded stream, bandwidth is as important as CPU or RAM. A continuous 10 Mbps stream uses roughly 3.24 TB over 30 days before overhead, so check the plan’s applicable outbound allowance, location, overage terms, renewal price, and the work required to keep the encoder running. If you want to avoid server administration, StreamNeo is the managed alternative: it loops uploaded video to YouTube from the cloud.

What makes a VPS suitable for a prerecorded YouTube Live stream?
A VPS is a rented virtual server that you administer. For this workflow, it must have enough capacity to read the video and run an encoder continuously, plus enough outbound data allowance to send the stream to YouTube for the intended duration. It also needs a server location and network route that work for your needs. A provider’s published specifications do not, by themselves, demonstrate that a particular stream will remain stable.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →YouTube receives an encoder feed over RTMP or RTMPS. YouTube recommends RTMPS, describing it as “a secure extension to the popular RTMP streaming video protocol.” Its encoder guidance recommends H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and a keyframe every two seconds, not more than every four seconds. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for current guidance.

A VPS does not automatically provide a ready-to-run prerecorded streaming workflow. You generally need to make the media available on the server, configure an encoder and YouTube stream key, keep the process running, monitor it, and decide how to recover if the encoder or connection stops. Those are administration responsibilities, not included guarantees of a VPS plan.
Estimate bandwidth before choosing a plan
Estimate outbound transfer using the stream bitrate and total hours, then compare it with the allowance that applies to the specific plan and location. A useful approximation is:
Outbound data in GB ≈ bitrate in Mbps × streaming hours × 0.45
Recommended Free Tools
This uses decimal bit and byte units and excludes protocol overhead and retries. For a continuous stream, YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate of 10 Mbps for 1080p30 works out to about 108 GB per day, or about 3.24 TB over 30 days, before overhead. These are calculations from bitrate and duration, not provider quotes or measured VPS performance.
| YouTube H.264 output | YouTube-recommended bitrate | Approximate outbound data over 30 days, continuously |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 6 Mbps | 1.94 TB |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps | 2.59 TB |
| 1080p30 | 10 Mbps | 3.24 TB |
| 1080p60 | 14 Mbps | 4.54 TB |
The bitrate recommendations come from YouTube’s encoder settings page; the monthly estimates use the formula above and assume 30 days of uninterrupted streaming. Actual traffic can be higher because of overhead or retries. YouTube’s automatic transcoding creates playback formats for viewers, so do not mistake a viewer’s playback quality for your encoder’s upload bitrate.
Check the allowance rules, not just the headline plan
Confirm the outbound-transfer allowance for the selected region, how overages are handled, and whether the displayed limit is monthly. Do not assume bandwidth is unmetered. For a stream running all month, even a modest bitrate can consume terabytes of outbound data.
VPS providers and managed streaming options
The following comparison uses each provider’s published information and does not claim tested streaming performance. Prices and plan terms can change; verify the location selector and checkout details before buying. Provider locations, prices, bandwidth allowances, and product limits are not directly interchangeable.
| Option | Published location and plan details | What to weigh for a continuous stream |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo (managed) | Cloud service for looping uploaded videos to YouTube. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps without re-encoding. | Less server administration than running your own VPS. Check that the storage and one-stream-per-slot arrangement fit your media and channel needs. The service is for YouTube, not other platforms. |
| Hostinger VPS | Its India VPS page lists KVM 1 at ₹599/month for the stated two-year term, renewing at ₹999/month, with 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe disk, and 4 TB bandwidth. The page also lists KVM 2 at ₹799/month and ₹1,199 renewal; KVM 4 at ₹1,099/month and ₹2,399 renewal; and KVM 8 at ₹2,199/month and ₹4,399 renewal. It lists 1 Gbps network speed, weekly backups, and worldwide data centers. | The displayed monthly amount divides an upfront multi-month plan; account for the full initial payment and renewal price. Hostinger’s company report includes Mumbai among data-center locations, but that does not establish Mumbai availability for every plan. Confirm the location selector for the plan you choose and check how its bandwidth allowance applies. |
| AWS Lightsail | AWS publishes bundle prices, memory, vCPUs, SSD, and transfer allowances on its pricing page. It states that Asia Pacific (Mumbai) bundles include half the transfer allowance shown for the corresponding bundles. Prices are displayed in USD. | Compare the applicable Mumbai transfer allowance with your bitrate estimate. If billing from India, confirm the billing currency, tax, and current rates. Do not compare headline prices with another provider without normalizing transfer, term, renewal, and currency. |
Sources: Hostinger’s India VPS page, Hostinger’s sustainability report, and Amazon Lightsail pricing. Hostinger’s report identifies Mumbai as a data-center location at the company level; verify that the specific VPS plan can be provisioned there.
Hostinger’s listed 4 TB bandwidth for KVM 1 is close to the estimated 3.24 TB for a continuous 10 Mbps stream over 30 days, but the calculation excludes overhead and retries. At 14 Mbps, the comparable estimate is about 4.54 TB. That makes actual stream bitrate, plan terms, and allowance rules central to the decision—not just CPU and RAM. The provider listings do not establish an uptime advantage for either VPS option.
How to choose between a VPS and managed streaming
Choose a self-managed VPS if you want server control
A VPS can suit someone comfortable administering Linux and maintaining the encoder workflow. Before committing, confirm the plan’s location, total first-term payment, renewal price, transfer allowance, and overage treatment. Then size transfer for your actual bitrate and planned stream hours. You are responsible for setup, stream-key protection, monitoring, and recovery.
StreamNeo’s commercial comparison of PC, VPS, and managed streaming also describes the VPS work involved: transferring media, configuring ffmpeg, protecting the stream key, setting up services and log rotation, and arranging watchdogs and reboot testing. This is a provider’s category discussion, not independent performance testing; see StreamNeo’s comparison and verify current service terms before subscribing.
Prefer a managed service if avoiding server operations matters more
A managed service can remove much of the server-administration work, but it has its own limits. Check stream count, storage, quality, duration, and recovery terms against your use case. Do not assume every managed service supports the same resolution, number of simultaneous streams, or media library size.

Pre-purchase and stream-readiness checklist
- Location: verify the actual data-center location available for your chosen plan, rather than relying on a provider’s general list of locations.
- Transfer: calculate bitrate × hours × 0.45 GB, add headroom for overhead and retries, then check the plan’s regional allowance and overage rules.
- Cost: compare the full upfront term and renewal price, not just a monthly figure derived from a long commitment. For AWS, confirm billing currency and tax as well as the applicable regional allowance.
- Encoder: use YouTube’s guidance for the chosen resolution and frame rate. YouTube recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, with no more than four seconds between keyframes.
- Test: YouTube recommends testing before starting with representative audio and motion. During the stream, monitor stream health and YouTube’s messages.
- Rights and channel rules: use recordings you have the rights to stream and review YouTube’s copyright and reused-content rules. A stream running continuously does not itself establish that the content is eligible for monetization.
- Recovery: decide who will detect a stopped encoder or dropped connection and restart the workflow. A VPS provider’s published plan specifications do not promise that your streaming process will recover automatically.
Common planning mistakes
Buying by RAM alone
RAM and vCPU matter for running the encoder, but transfer can be the limiting factor for a nonstop stream. Estimate traffic at the intended bitrate and compare it with the allowance for the exact region and plan.
Treating an introductory monthly figure as the ongoing cost
Hostinger says its displayed monthly price divides the price of an upfront multi-month term and lists higher renewal prices. Compare the amount due for the first term with the renewal amount before purchase; a monthly-equivalent display is not a month-to-month commitment.
Assuming a published location applies to every product
A company-level data-center list does not guarantee that a particular plan can be deployed in that location. Confirm the provider’s location selector at checkout, especially when latency or region-specific transfer limits matter.
Assuming the provider runs the stream for you
A VPS rents server resources; the encoder workflow still needs to be configured and operated. If your priority is avoiding that work, compare a managed service’s actual stream, storage, quality, duration, and recovery limits instead.
