There is no single best VPN for Finland for every reader. If you are abroad and need a Finnish IP address, choose a provider that offers a Finnish endpoint; if you are in Finland, you may instead want a nearby connection for your traffic. VPNmestari’s Finnish comparison, updated October 5, 2026, ranks NordVPN first overall and identifies Proton VPN for its free version. Those are that publisher’s assessments, not independent results from this article. Streaming access, privacy needs, device limits, and the full subscription cost should shape your choice.
What “VPN for Finland” can mean
The phrase can describe two different needs:
- A Finnish IP address while abroad: connect to a provider’s Finland endpoint so websites see a Finnish IP address. NordVPN and Proton VPN both advertise this capability on their Finland pages.
- A VPN connection while you are in Finland: choose an endpoint based on your purpose. A nearby endpoint may suit ordinary browsing; connecting to Finland may be useful when you need a Finnish IP while traveling within the country.
A Finnish IP masks your apparent network location. It does not make you anonymous, and it does not guarantee that a website or streaming service will allow access.

Which VPNs are worth considering?
The available evidence supports a short list, but not a hands-on performance ranking. The comparison below separates provider statements from VPNmestari’s editorial assessment.
| Provider | Finland and privacy information | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| NordVPN | Its Finland page advertises Finnish IP access and 60+ servers in Finland. This is a changing, vendor-reported count, not an independently verified measurement. The page also describes specialty servers and a 30-day money-back guarantee; confirm current availability and terms directly. NordVPN’s Finland page | VPNmestari ranked it first overall in its comparison updated October 5, 2026. That is the comparison publisher’s judgment, not a test result here. VPNmestari’s comparison |
| Proton VPN | Proton advertises Finnish servers and Finnish IP access, lists AES-256 or ChaCha20 encryption, and says the company is headquartered in Switzerland. These are provider statements; headquarters alone do not establish a particular privacy outcome. Proton VPN’s Finland page | VPNmestari identifies its free version as a free-tier pick. The available evidence does not establish the free tier’s current limits or whether it meets a particular streaming or location-access need. VPNmestari’s comparison |
VPNmestari also named a price leader, but no current Finland-specific prices or promotion terms were verified here, so a price ranking would not tell you what you will pay now.

How to choose for your use
If you need a Finnish IP from abroad
Confirm that Finland is selectable in the provider’s current server list and that the connection assigns a Finnish IP address. A provider’s location page is a useful starting point, but service availability and endpoint counts can change. If a particular Finnish site or account is the reason for connecting, check that service’s own access rules as well.
If streaming is the priority
VPN services may advertise streaming use, but platform access can change when services detect or block VPN endpoints. None of the evidence here establishes current, independently tested access to a specific platform. Treat access as uncertain rather than relying on a guarantee, and check the provider’s current terms before subscribing.

If privacy is the priority
Look beyond the provider’s country of headquarters. Read the current privacy policy for what data is collected, why it is processed, and how long it is retained. An audit claim is useful only when you can inspect its date, scope, and conclusions; those report details were not established for the providers covered here.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFinnish law is relevant context, but the cited provisions should not be stretched into a general VPN rule. Section 157 of Finland’s Act on Electronic Communications Services describes retention duties for designated telecommunications companies and specified data. It says the duty does not cover message content or browsing traffic data. That provision alone does not establish whether a particular VPN provider falls within scope or whether VPN use is prohibited. Finland’s Data Protection Act supplements and specifies the application of the EU GDPR in Finland, but it does not replace checking a provider’s entity structure and data practices. Finlex: Act 917/2014, section 157; Finlex: Data Protection Act 1050/2018.

If you need coverage across devices
Check the provider’s current device and simultaneous-connection terms for the devices you actually use. Router support depends on the specific model, firmware, and provider instructions; the available evidence does not confirm particular router compatibility.
