If you need an Ecuadorian IP address, start with VPN services that currently list an Ecuador location: ExpressVPN, Proton VPN and NordVPN. Surfshark is another option included in a recent Ecuador-focused comparison. A listed Ecuador endpoint can help a website see an Ecuadorian IP, but a listing alone does not prove the server hardware is physically in Ecuador.
Which VPNs list an Ecuador location?
These services have relevant evidence, but they are not equivalent endorsements or independently tested recommendations. Provider pages describe their own features; rankings and speed results from review publishers reflect those publishers’ methods and conditions.

| Service | What the source establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| ExpressVPN | ExpressVPN says users can connect to an Ecuador server so services see the connection as coming from Ecuador. It also describes encryption and its no-activity/no-connection-logs position. ExpressVPN’s Ecuador page. | The provider’s privacy statements are not independent verification. The page does not make this comparison a hands-on test. |
| Proton VPN | Proton VPN says users can connect to Ecuador servers for an Ecuadorian IP, and describes support for major platforms, encryption, a strict no-logs policy, OpenVPN and alternate routing. Proton VPN’s Ecuador page. | The provider’s claims are not independently verified here; its page does not establish that blocked content can be accessed in every circumstance. |
| NordVPN | Its official Spanish server-location page lists Ecuador as “1 ciudad” (one city). NordVPN’s server-location page. | The Ecuador row does not name the city or identify whether that endpoint is physical, virtual, or another server category. |
| Surfshark | VPNAlert’s Ecuador comparison, updated September 16, 2026, includes Surfshark and describes it as a value alternative. VPNAlert’s Ecuador comparison. | This is the publisher’s assessment, not an independent test performed for this article. VPNAlert says it is reader-supported and may earn commissions. |
Choose for your route, not just the country name
An Ecuador VPN can serve different needs. If you are abroad and want a site to see an Ecuadorian IP, choose a provider that lists an Ecuador location. If you are in Ecuador and need a foreign IP, choose a provider with an endpoint in the country or region you actually need. For public Wi-Fi privacy, focus on the provider’s security practices and the protection available in the app you will use; an Ecuador endpoint is not inherently necessary.

Streaming access and access to blocked sites are separate use cases. A server location alone does not guarantee that a particular service will work, and using a VPN does not grant permission to violate copyright or a service’s terms. Proton VPN describes OpenVPN and alternate routing as options related to access, but those statements are not a test of conditions in Ecuador.

How to compare the providers
- Confirm the exit country. Check the current server list for the country you need. A country listing says where the service offers an endpoint; it does not, by itself, establish the physical location of the hardware. NordVPN’s Ecuador listing specifies one city but does not name it or classify the Ecuador endpoint.
- Separate privacy claims from proof. ExpressVPN and Proton VPN publish encryption and no-logs statements. Treat these as provider claims unless you have current, relevant independent audit evidence. A no-logs promise is not the same thing as proof that no data is retained.
- Check your devices and limits. Verify supported operating systems, simultaneous connection limits, router support and any plan restrictions on the provider’s current product pages. Proton VPN says it supports major platforms, but you should confirm that your own devices and intended setup are covered.
- Read performance evidence in context. TechRadar’s 2026 general VPN comparison reports provider-specific speed measurements, but its results are tied to that review’s testing context and are not Ecuador-specific measurements. Do not treat them as a performance promise for your route. TechRadar’s 2026 VPN comparison.
- Compare the whole checkout. Check the billing period, amount charged now, renewal price, taxes, refund terms and promotion end date. A headline monthly equivalent can obscure a longer upfront billing period.
What does an Ecuador VPN cost?
ExpressVPN gives a general estimate of US$2–US$6 per month for Ecuador VPNs, varying by provider and subscription length. This is not a quote for a named plan or a survey of current checkout prices. Individual prices and promotions change, so confirm the full amount and renewal terms on the provider’s checkout page before subscribing.
Can you use an app or a VPN router?
For one phone or computer, a provider’s app is generally the straightforward option. A VPN-compatible Wi-Fi router can route traffic for multiple devices through a VPN, but compatibility depends on both the router and the VPN service. No particular router model or compatibility matrix is established here, so verify support before buying hardware.

Is using a VPN in Ecuador legal?
ExpressVPN states on its Ecuador page that VPNs are legal in Ecuador, but the available source set does not include an Ecuadorian law or regulator source that independently verifies that legal conclusion. Do not treat the provider’s statement as legal advice; check current local law for your circumstances.
