Amazon Business is the broadest Udaan alternative for mixed-category procurement. Choose Jumbotail for grocery and kirana supply, METRO for wholesale resale, and Moglix for industrial, tools and MRO purchasing. The right choice depends on category fit, minimum order quantities, GST documentation, delivery to your pincode, payment protection and credit terms—not on a single nationwide “cheapest” or “fastest” claim.
This guide compares those four platforms against the buying needs Udaan highlights: smaller lots, bulk pricing, seller verification, transparent tax and logistics costs, doorstep delivery, escrow protection and refunds for eligible problems.

Udaan’s buyer page says businesses can source products from wholesale and manufacturing centres, order smaller lots instead of taking unwanted inventory, access bulk pricing, inspect seller credentials and see tax, logistics and product pricing. It also describes escrow protection, doorstep delivery and full or partial refunds for eligible issues.
#1 Best Overall
Those promises create a practical checklist for alternatives:
- Assortment: Can the platform supply the categories, brands, pack sizes and specifications you actually sell or consume?
- Lot flexibility: Is there a minimum order, carton quantity or sample option that fits your cash flow and storage?
- Trust and disputes: Are seller details, invoices, inspection options, escrow or refund rules clear?
- Delivered cost: Do the quoted price, GST, shipping, handling and credit charges appear before checkout?
- Business administration: Can you obtain compliant GST invoices, give staff controlled access and export purchase records?
- Reach: Does the service deliver reliably to your exact pincode, not merely to your state or city?
Amazon Business India: the broadest mixed-category option
Amazon Business presents itself as a B2B wholesale marketplace for organizations that need business pricing, quantity discounts, GST invoices, procurement analytics and fulfillment support. Its listed categories include IT products, office supplies, cleaning products, industrial and MRO goods, pantry items and hospitality supplies.
Why it fits
A single business account can be useful when a company buys unrelated items—printer supplies, safety equipment, cleaning chemicals and pantry stock—from one procurement workflow. GST invoices and business pricing are especially important when purchases must be reconciled with company records or allocated to departments. Quantity discounts can make repeat orders more predictable, although the actual discount depends on the item and seller.

Published scale figures
The Amazon Business homepage reviewed in 2026 states “15+ crore products with GST Invoice,” “3.5+ lakh sellers from all over India” and “99.8% pincodes in India covered.” These are the platform’s named figures, not an independent audit; confirm the current values and serviceability when opening an account.
Checks before placing a bulk order
- Compare the GST invoice details with your company’s legal name and registration requirements.
- Check whether the listing is sold by one seller or split across sellers, because quality, warranty and delivery can differ.
- Read the exact quantity-discount tier, minimum quantity and delivery date for your pincode.
- Confirm return restrictions for consumables, opened cartons, customized items and business equipment.
- Calculate the delivered unit cost after GST, shipping and any handling charge rather than using the headline price.
Jumbotail: specialist supply for food, grocery and kirana retail
Jumbotail describes itself as “India’s leading B2B Marketplace and New Retail Platform for food and grocery.” Its model connects small grocery retailers and supermarkets with brands and staples producers. The company also describes sourcing and quality-control services, full-stack supply-chain and logistics operations, payment solutions and working-capital credit provided through lending partners.
Why it fits
For a kirana shop, the key problem is usually not finding a single product online; it is replenishing many fast-moving items in commercially sensible case sizes. A grocery-focused network can align assortment, delivery routes and retailer workflows more closely with that need than a general marketplace. It may also help a store source packaged foods, staples, personal-care products and home-care products through one supply relationship.
Operational questions to ask
- Is the marketplace active in your city and does it serve your store address?
- Which brands, pack sizes and expiry windows are available in your area?
- Are prices shown per unit, case or bundle, and what is the minimum order for each?
- How are short deliveries, damaged cartons and near-expiry products credited?
- If you seek working capital, what lender eligibility checks, fees and repayment schedule apply?
Availability, assortment, credit and delivery economics can vary by geography. Treat the service as a city-specific supply option rather than assuming the same catalog or terms across India.

METRO: a wholesale model built for resale
METRO’s platform terms describe its wholesale B2B shopping service as a channel where users purchase products “for further sale.” Its corporate positioning is centered on B2B wholesale customers, making the resale purpose more explicit than on a general business marketplace.
Why it fits
Retailers that prefer a wholesale operating model may value a supplier designed around resale quantities and commercial customers. It can be a logical candidate when your buying plan is to stock products for a shop, restaurant or other resale operation rather than purchase occasional office items.
Eligibility and access checks
- Confirm what business documentation or customer registration is required.
- Check whether purchasing is available through a local store, an app, delivery, or a combination of channels.
- Review membership rules, delivery radius, order cut-off times and minimum basket values.
- Compare the local assortment and case sizes with the products your customers actually buy.
- Ask how invoices, returns, substitutions and damaged-goods claims are handled in your location.
Store access, membership requirements, assortment and delivery arrangements may differ by location. Do not assume that a policy or range available in one city applies everywhere.
Moglix: industrial, tools and MRO procurement
Moglix’s supplier portal calls it a leading B2B marketplace and advertises products across more than 70 categories, with logistics support, payment terms and visibility to customers and procurement managers.
Why it fits
Manufacturers, contractors, workshops, facilities teams and construction businesses often need repeat supplies rather than consumer shopping: tools, personal protective equipment, electrical and mechanical items, maintenance consumables and other MRO products. A catalog organized around industrial procurement can make specification-driven sourcing easier than a grocery or general-retail service.
How to validate an industrial order
- Match the exact model, grade, dimensions, voltage, material and applicable safety standard.
- Request a datasheet, certificate or manufacturer warranty where the application requires one.
- Confirm whether the displayed stock is physically available or subject to supplier lead time.
- Calculate freight for heavy, hazardous, oversized or multi-location deliveries.
- Obtain written return terms for installed, cut-to-length, customized or opened industrial goods.
The 70-plus-category statement is a supplier-portal claim. It does not establish buyer pricing, stock availability or a uniform service level; those must be confirmed for each supplier and item.
How to choose among the four
1. Start with the category that drives your spend
Use Jumbotail when grocery and staples dominate. Use Moglix when specifications, tools, safety or maintenance dominate. Consider METRO when most purchases are for resale under a wholesale model. Use Amazon Business when your basket spans several unrelated business categories and consolidated administration matters.
2. Compare order economics, not list prices
For the same product or equivalent specification, record the pack size, minimum quantity, base price, GST, delivery fee, handling charge, discount tier and any credit cost. Divide the complete payable amount by the usable units you will receive. A lower item price can be more expensive after freight, smaller pack sizes, wastage or an order minimum that leaves cash tied up in slow stock.
3. Test service at the exact pincode
Enter the delivery address before comparing promises. Note the quoted date, shipping charge, cut-off time, partial-shipment policy and cancellation rules. “Pincode coverage” is not the same as every product being available for every address.
4. Examine trust and dispute protection
Check the seller’s legal identity, GST details, ratings or credentials where shown, invoice format, inspection or sample availability and the process for reporting shortages or damage. Read whether refunds are full or partial, which problems qualify, and whether the claim deadline starts at delivery.
5. Match controls to your team
If several employees buy on behalf of one business, look for separate users, approval limits, purchase history, downloadable invoices and spend reports. A slightly higher unit price may be justified when it reduces reconciliation work or prevents unauthorized orders.
6. Treat credit as a financing product
Credit or working-capital offers can improve replenishment, but compare the lender, total fees, repayment frequency, late charges and effect on cash flow. Never treat an advertised credit option as guaranteed eligibility.

A step-by-step process for replacing or supplementing Udaan
- List your recurring purchases. Record the last three months of products, quantities, preferred brands, acceptable substitutes, average order value and required delivery frequency.
- Separate the basket by buying job. Put grocery and fast-moving retail stock together, industrial or MRO items together, resale goods together and general business supplies together. A split strategy may outperform forcing everything through one marketplace.
- Shortlist platforms by category. Start with Jumbotail for grocery, Moglix for industrial procurement, METRO for resale and Amazon Business for mixed categories. Remove any service that does not deliver to your address or provide the required invoice.
- Run a small validation order. Buy representative items before committing to a large lot. Check packaging, expiry, specifications, invoice accuracy, delivery condition and how quickly a problem is resolved.
- Build a landed-cost sheet. Include product price, GST, shipping, handling, discounts, returns, payment fees, credit cost and the value of damaged or unusable units.
- Set a reorder rule. Define minimum stock, reorder quantity, acceptable lead time and who approves exceptions. This prevents a bulk discount from turning into excess inventory.
- Review performance monthly. Track fill rate, late deliveries, invoice errors, substitutions, refund time and effective unit cost by platform and supplier.
Common pitfalls and fixes
Assuming a nationwide promise applies locally
A platform can report broad coverage while a specific item is unavailable in your pincode. Fix this by checking the address against the exact listing and saving the quoted delivery window.
Best Value
Comparing different pack sizes
A case of 24 and a case of 12 are not directly comparable. Convert every quote to a per-unit or per-kilogram cost and include unusable or expired stock.
Ignoring invoice details
A purchase that cannot be reconciled to the correct legal entity can create accounting and tax work. Confirm the GSTIN, business name, tax breakup and downloadable invoice before scaling the order.
Using credit to hide weak unit economics
Deferred payment does not make slow-moving stock profitable. Approve credit only after comparing total financing cost with expected gross margin and sell-through time.

Catalog size, seller count and category count describe platform scope, not the stock, lead time or return result for your specific order. Validate those details at item level.
Skipping a trial order
One successful listing does not prove consistent fulfillment. Test representative products, including a fragile, heavy or specification-sensitive item if those are part of your normal basket.

Final checks before switching suppliers
- Confirm the platform accepts your business type and documentation.
- Verify the exact delivery pincode, lead time and order cut-off.
- Compare equivalent pack sizes and total landed cost.
- Download or inspect a sample GST invoice.
- Read damage, shortage, expiry and return procedures.
- Test a representative order before committing to a large purchase.
- Record supplier performance so the decision is based on your own order history, not only platform-wide claims.
