Official announcements do not establish a universal price comparison. Check the current price in your country, then compare it with the number of months you expect to play and the current listing for the exact game and edition.

What Ubisoft content is included
In an Xbox Wire announcement dated July 27, 2026, Microsoft said the Xbox PC experience would include major Ubisoft catalog games such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Skull and Bones and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The same announcement describes fan favorites spanning the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, The Crew and Watch Dogs franchises. It also identifies Ubisoft+ Classics content as available with Game Pass Ultimate on PC and console.

That makes Ultimate the closest all-purpose substitute for a player who wants to move between several Ubisoft series instead of purchasing each game separately. The announcement is a catalog statement, not a promise that every entry in either franchise is permanently included. A game can have a different edition, add-on requirement or regional listing from the one you want.
Where it works
- Xbox console: use the Game Pass catalog on a supported Xbox system.
- Windows PC: use the Xbox PC experience and verify the individual PC listing before installing.
- Cross-device play: a subscription can be convenient if you alternate between a console and a Windows PC, but the supported version and save behavior must be checked for each game.
Why it can replace Ubisoft+ for a binge
Ultimate makes sense when you want several campaigns over a limited period. You can start an Assassin’s Creed game, switch to a Far Cry entry and then try another Ubisoft series without buying each title. The value is highest when you will actually play multiple catalog games during the paid months.
Important limitations
- Catalog membership is access, not ownership. If a title leaves the catalog or your membership ends, you lose subscription access unless you buy it.
- Availability can differ by territory. A game announced for one market may not appear in another.
- The specific edition matters. Standard, deluxe and complete editions can have different listings and included content.

Ubisoft’s announcement about Far Cry 6 joining the Classics library also references Assassin’s Creed titles in that catalog context. That confirms the two series are represented, but it does not mean that every game, expansion or premium edition is included at all times.
What Extra is good at
- Downloading eligible games to PS4 or PS5 instead of relying on streaming.
- Trying several Ubisoft games during a subscription period.
- Using one PlayStation membership for Ubisoft titles and the rest of the PlayStation Game Catalog.
What Extra does not guarantee
The Classics catalog is territory-dependent and changes over time. A game can be removed, replaced by another edition or restricted to one PlayStation generation. Before paying, search the PlayStation Store while signed in to your account and inspect the exact product page.
DLC and add-ons can be purchased for downloaded catalog games, according to PlayStation’s catalog information. Buying an add-on does not turn the base game into an owned copy: if the catalog license disappears or your membership expires, you may need to regain access to the base game before using that content.

PlayStation Plus Premium: when streaming changes the decision
Streaming and downloading
PlayStation says Premium members can stream Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games to PS4, PS5 or PC where the feature is supported. Streaming can save local storage and lets you sample a game quickly, while downloading usually provides more predictable performance and is the safer choice for a long campaign or an unreliable internet connection.

- Is cloud streaming supported in your country and on the device you plan to use?
- Does the particular Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry listing offer streaming, or only a download?
- Is your broadband connection stable enough for sustained play?
- Would Extra provide the same downloadable title at a lower current price in your region?
Premium is a convenience tier, not a permanent license. The streaming server, catalog membership and regional eligibility all remain conditions of access.
Buying an individual game: the ownership route
When a purchase beats a subscription
Buying one game is usually the clearer choice when you know exactly what you want and expect to replay it over many months or years. A physical copy does not depend on a catalog slot remaining active. It remains usable as long as the disc, hardware and required platform support continue to work.

What ownership includes—and what it does not

- No automatic catalog: buying Mirage does not grant access to other Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry games.
- No automatic premium content: standard and deluxe editions can contain different missions, cosmetics or season-pass rights.

Physical versus digital purchase

The franchise spans different eras, game systems and editions. If you want one particular release, search by its full title rather than relying on a franchise tile. For example, a listing for Assassin’s Creed Shadows does not establish that another entry such as Mirage is included on the same platform or in the same tier. The Xbox announcement refers to favorites spanning the franchise, while Ubisoft’s Classics announcement documents Far Cry 6 joining that library. Those statements support franchise representation, not permanent inclusion of every numbered release.
Premium editions and DLC
Subscription services may expose a standard edition while the store sells a separate deluxe or complete edition. Ubisoft+ Multi Access has historically emphasized premium editions and DLC, but current terms should be confirmed on the live product page. If a season pass is important, compare its price with the cost of the game and membership together rather than assuming it is included.

No official source in the available material establishes a universal subscription or game price, and prices vary by country, promotion and platform. You can still make a reliable decision by comparing the same time horizon:

- Write down the current monthly or multi-month price for the eligible tier in your store.
- Multiply it by the number of months you expect to play.
- Add any separate purchase for DLC, an upgrade or a premium edition.
- Compare that total with the current purchase price of the exact game edition you want.
- Choose the subscription when you will play several included games or finish your target game within a short access period; choose ownership when long-term replay matters more than variety.
A one-month binge can favor a catalog. Several years of occasional replay can favor a purchase. The break-even point is personal because it depends on your playtime, not a universal industry statistic.
Availability, territory and edition checks
Catalogs are not identical worldwide. Ubisoft’s Multi Access announcement explicitly notes that the catalog may vary between territories. PlayStation and Xbox listings can also differ by platform generation, language, age rating or local licensing.
