What TV specs matter most for Destiny 2?
For PS5 and Xbox Series X, prioritize these capabilities when comparing televisions. Confirm them for the exact model and HDMI port rather than relying on a broad label such as “HDMI 2.1.”

- 4K/120Hz input: Useful if you want the console display capability and Destiny 2’s supported 120Hz Crucible mode. Verify that the port connected to your console accepts 4K/120Hz.
- VRR: Check that the TV supports HDMI Variable Refresh Rate and that it works on the input you will use. PlayStation announced VRR support for Destiny 2 on PS5 in 2022; using it requires a compatible display.
- ALLM or low-latency mode: Verify this in the TV’s specifications or manual. PlayStation notes that HDMI 2.1 televisions do not all support ALLM.
- HDR: PS5 supports HDR, but HDR support alone does not establish how bright, contrast-rich, or accurate a TV’s picture will look. Compare model-specific picture performance rather than treating the HDR label as a quality ranking.
PlayStation says PS5 can output 4K/120Hz, but the television must also support the desired output. Its guidance is to check the TV manual: PS5 4K resolution guide.
What resolution and frame rate does Destiny 2 support on console?
Bungie’s next-generation console table, published October 15, 2020, lists Destiny 2 at 4K resolution and 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. It separately lists 120Hz Crucible support for those consoles. When that mode is enabled, Bungie says the game switches to 120Hz while lowering resolution and some advanced graphics settings. That is not 4K/120fps gameplay.

The same Bungie table lists Xbox Series S at 1080p/60fps and does not list 120Hz Crucible support for that console. These are the specifications in Bungie’s cited 2020 announcement, not a newly conducted 2026 performance test. Bungie maintains separate platform support information for consoles and PC storefronts: Destiny 2 platform support.
How to choose between TV listings
- Match the TV to your console. If you play on PS5 or Xbox Series X and want the 120Hz Crucible option, shortlist TVs that accept 4K/120Hz from the specific HDMI port you will use. If you have Xbox Series S, Bungie’s cited table does not list 120Hz Crucible support for it.
- Check the exact input’s features. Confirm 4K/120Hz, VRR, and ALLM separately in the manufacturer’s model specifications or manual. A capability listed for one input should not be assumed for every port.
- Compare picture quality independently. Check model-specific evidence for HDR brightness, contrast, and tone mapping. A TV’s 4K or HDR label does not establish that it will look better than another model.
- Compare current price and availability in your region. Prices, stock, and specifications can vary by market and model variant; confirm them with the seller and manufacturer before choosing.
The official PlayStation announcement identifies Destiny 2 among the games receiving PS5 VRR support: PS5 VRR support announcement. PlayStation says supported games require a compatible HDMI 2.1 VRR display to use that feature.

Can you name one “best” TV from these requirements?
Not responsibly without current, model-level comparisons. The specifications above establish useful screening criteria, but they do not rank televisions or verify a particular model’s input lag, HDR performance, port behavior, regional variant, current price, or stock. Treat “4K 120Hz gaming TV” as a capability checklist, not a model recommendation. A real shortlist should be checked against manufacturer specifications and independent measurements for the exact models available where you live.
