1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor most PS5 and PS5 Pro buyers choosing from current test-based recommendations, the Samsung S95H OLED is the strongest starting point: RTINGS names it its best TV for PS5 and lists four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR and support for up to 4K/165Hz. That is a publication’s ranking, not a universal verdict. Consider the LG C6 OLED for a similar gaming feature set, the Sony BRAVIA 8 II for Sony-specific integration, or the Samsung QN90F if a bright room and reflections are the priority.
Best TVs for PS5 in 2026: the shortlist

| What you need | Model to consider | Evidence and trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Top all-around gaming recommendation | Samsung S95H OLED | RTINGS names it its best TV for PS5 and lists four HDMI 2.1 ports, up to 4K/165Hz capability, VRR and low input lag. The ranking is RTINGS’ assessment; whether it fits depends on price, room and market. |
| Upper-mid-range OLED alternative | LG C6 OLED | RTINGS says it has four HDMI 2.1 ports, up to 4K/165Hz capability and VRR. RTINGS notes that bright colors and some HDR highlights are less vivid than on the S95H. The guide identifies the 77- and 83-inch variants as C6H. |
| Sony-specific PS5 integration | Sony BRAVIA 8 II OLED | TechRadar names it its best gaming TV for PS5 and points to Auto HDR Tone Mapping when connected to a PS5. TechRadar reports two HDMI 2.1 inputs and 16.3ms measured input lag, so it may be a less suitable fit if you need several high-bandwidth HDMI connections or prioritize the lowest measured lag. |
| Bright room or strong reflection handling | Samsung QN90F | TechRadar highlights its Glare Free screen and brightness, as well as four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR and ALLM. TechRadar measured 2,087 nits peak brightness and 667 nits full-screen brightness; treat those as that publication’s measurements, not guaranteed results for every size or picture mode. Its LCD/Mini LED picture characteristics differ from OLED. |
| Mid-range Mini LED option | TCL QM7L | TechRadar reports two HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K/120Hz passthrough, FreeSync Premium Pro and a gaming settings bar. Its 144Hz panel and advertised Game Accelerator capability do not raise the PS5’s documented 120Hz output ceiling. |
What matters most for PS5 gaming
4K at 120Hz
Sony says the PS5 supports HDMI 2.1 and 4K 120Hz video output. A 120Hz-capable TV is only one part of the setup: the game must also offer a high-frame-rate mode, and the console, TV input and connection must support the output. A TV’s advertised 144Hz or 165Hz maximum can be useful for some PC setups, but it does not make the PS5 output above 120Hz.

VRR and ALLM are separate checks
Variable refresh rate (VRR) can help a supported game’s changing frame rate look smoother. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) lets supported equipment switch to a low-latency picture mode. Check both in the specifications for the exact TV model rather than assuming one feature comes with the other. Sony explicitly answers the HDMI 2.1 assumption this way: “No, please check the instruction manual that came with the display device to check if it supports ALLM.”

Count the HDMI inputs you will actually use
Check how many inputs on the specific TV support the gaming features you want; the count of ports on a set does not by itself establish that each input supports the same bandwidth and features. This matters if you plan to connect a PS5, another console and a PC without swapping cables. The published counts above are the cited outlets’ reports for the named models.
Match the screen to the room
OLED and Mini LED/LCD sets can suit different viewing conditions and picture preferences. If daytime glare or reflections are a recurring problem, the QN90F’s Glare Free screen is a relevant reason to consider it. If you prefer OLED, compare its overall picture and price against the C6 and S95H rather than treating one technology as best for every room.

How to confirm your PS5 and TV are using the features
Sony says the PS5 detects the connected TV’s capabilities and automatically selects the best available resolution. You can also inspect the connected HDMI device’s reported resolution, VRR and HDR in the console settings. For Sony televisions, feature support can differ by model series, year, regional code and firmware; Sony’s BRAVIA support information lists differences across models, and some older sets require software updates for particular functions.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Connect the PS5 to a TV input documented as supporting the output and gaming features you want. Use the TV manual or specifications for the exact regional model code to identify the correct input.
- On the PS5, open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output and review the information for the connected HDMI device. Sony says the console displays supported information including resolution, VRR and HDR.
- Enable 120Hz output in the PS5 video output settings if you want to use it. Sony says this applies only with a TV and game that support a 120Hz frame rate.
- Confirm VRR and ALLM support separately in the TV’s manual and settings. If a feature is missing, verify the selected HDMI input and check whether the TV requires a firmware update.
Sony notes that some 4K/120Hz issues may occur during the transition to the technology. If the expected option does not appear, confirm the model’s stated capability, input assignment and current firmware before concluding that the console or TV cannot support it.

Which pick should you choose?
- Start with the Samsung S95H if you want the current RTINGS top pick and multiple HDMI 2.1 inputs.
- Compare the LG C6 if you want an OLED alternative with the core gaming capabilities RTINGS describes, and its picture or price is a better fit.
- Choose the BRAVIA 8 II for its Sony-specific PS5 integration only after weighing its two HDMI 2.1 inputs and TechRadar’s measured input lag against your priorities.
- Look at the QN90F for a bright or reflective room if its LCD/Mini LED presentation suits your preference.
- Consider the TCL QM7L as a mid-range Mini LED option if its reported feature set and local price make sense for your setup.
Before ordering, compare the exact size and regional suffix, current local price, input-level feature support and firmware requirements. The recommended rankings and measured figures above are attributed to the named publications; they are not guarantees for every unit or market.
