For charging phones, tablets, and laptops, match a USB-C charger’s output and cable capability to the devices’ requirements. A power bank is optional backup power, but it is subject to airline battery rules.
Start with the destination plug and device voltage
A plug adapter changes the shape of the connection so it fits a wall socket. That physical fit does not, by itself, convert electricity from one voltage to another. Before choosing an adapter, confirm the socket system for every country on your itinerary, then check the input rating on each device and power supply. Dell’s international travel guidance likewise distinguishes destination plug compatibility from the device’s input requirements.

Check each device’s input label
Look on the charger or device label, or consult the manufacturer’s documentation, for its supported mains input. If it does not accept the destination’s voltage, a plug adapter alone is not enough; follow the manufacturer’s guidance on whether a suitable voltage converter is required. Do not assume an appliance is compatible just because its plug fits.

Verify coverage for the whole itinerary
“Universal” is a product category, not proof that an adapter fits every socket or suits every device. Check the exact countries and socket systems covered, especially on multi-country trips. Also inspect the adapter’s rated voltage and current and whether it supports the grounding your equipment requires. IEC 60884-2-5:2017 defines requirements for travel adaptors within a stated scope of over 50 V through 250 V and current not exceeding 20 A; those are limits describing the standard’s scope, not recommended consumer ratings or certification of any particular retail adapter. See the IEC standard listing.

Choose a USB-C charger by output, ports, and cable
USB-C describes a connector ecosystem; it does not guarantee a specific charging speed. Count the devices you expect to charge at the same time, then compare the charger’s output with each device’s requirements. If you are consolidating several chargers, confirm that the charger can supply the needed power when multiple ports are in use; do not infer that from the number or type of ports alone.
Match the cable to the charging setup
The cable also needs to support the required charging capability. Dell’s guidance calls out cable capability for USB-C travel charging. Check the specifications for both the device and the cable rather than assuming that any USB-C cable will deliver the needed power.

- Universal Plug Compatibility: Type A (US / Canada / Japan / China), Type C (EU), Type G (UK / Singapore), and Type I (Australia).
- Power 5 Devices at Once: Includes 1 AC outlet, 2 USB-A ports, and 2 USB-C ports. The USB ports support up to 20W total output or 15W max when shared. A single USB-C port delivers up to 20W and charges iPhone 16 to 50% in 28 minutes. The maximum current is 6A.
- Exceptionally Compact: Measuring just 3.39 × 1.97 × 0.98 in (86 × 50 × 25 mm), it has a credit card-sized footprint and is 43% smaller than similar models. See image 4 for the size comparison. Foldable and retractable pins make it even easier to carry.
- 2-Pin to 2-Pin Connection: The safe 2-pin design helps reduce the risk of electric shock for worry-free travel. The AC outlet does not support 3-prong grounded plugs, including EU Schuko, UK 3-pin, or grounded laptop chargers.
- What You Get: 1× Anker Nano Travel Adapter (5-in-1, 20W), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The standards help explain why the connector alone is not a performance promise: IEC 62680-1-3:2026 defines USB Type-C receptacles, plugs, and cables, while IEC 63002:2025 addresses external power-supply interoperability. IEC says the latter specification’s power range was increased to 240 W; that is a standard capability range, not a claim that ordinary travel chargers or consumer devices operate at 240 W. Details are available from the IEC USB Type-C specification and IEC power-supply interoperability listing.
Compare adapters against your actual needs
Use a checklist rather than relying on a “universal” label or a product’s port count:

Travel adapters are electrical accessories with rated limits and safety requirements. IEC’s standard establishes requirements within its scope, but citing that standard does not establish that an individual retail product is certified or safe. Check the specific product’s ratings and compliance claims rather than treating a marketplace category or “universal” wording as verification.

A power bank is a spare lithium battery, so plan its carriage and use under the rules for your airline and route. ICAO announced updated passenger rules with a stated effective date of 27 March 2026: passengers are limited to two power banks and may not recharge them during flights. Its 27 April 2026 announcement describes those restrictions. Confirm how the operating airline applies them to your itinerary.

For U.S. passenger guidance, the FAA says spare lithium batteries and power banks must be carried in cabin baggage. It says power banks from 101 to 160 Wh require airline approval and notes that carriers may impose stricter limits. Check the FAA’s passenger battery guidance, your airline’s current requirements, and IATA’s lithium-battery travel guidance before departure. Battery rules can differ by carrier and route, so do not rely on an old packing checklist.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- [Worldwide Compatibility] decqle universal travel adapter is designed with 4 interchangeable plugs which meet international plug standard: 1.Type C(most of the Europe) 2.Type G(such as UK, Ireland, Singapore) 3.Type A(such as America, Canada, Mexico) 4.Type I(such as China, Australia, New Zealand). It can cover 224+ countries plug standards. *Note: NOT for Type D (mostly used in India), Type M (mostly used in South Africa) and Korea. If used in countries where it is not applicable, such as South Korea, South Africa, or India, problems such as failure to power on, overheating, or loose plugs may occur. Please carefully confirm the applicable countries before purchasing.
- [AC Socket Power] The adapter has 2000W max AC power and input voltage: 100-250V, it's compatible with various high power devices. This adapter dose NOT have convert function, please make sure that your appliance supports dual voltage (with"100-240V,50/60Hz" printed on it). This product supports PD20W charging, not 70W or 100W charging. If your device requires more than 20W of input power, you may experience problems such as inability to charge, slow charging, or overheating. Please carefully check the applicable power input range of your device before purchasing.
- [3 Additional Interfaces] The adapter has 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port, with a PD 20W max output. It could work as a regular charger for your phone and watch. The intelligent chip can automatically distribute power when multiple appliances are in use simultaneously, protects your devices even though charging the whole night.
- [Compact Design] You could slide out the pins for use and press the button on the side to recall the pins. After you recall the pins, the adapter could be pack as small cube(size: 7.6*5.3*5.9cm, weigh: 148g). So it’s portable to pack into backpacks or suitcases. The hard external PC case can protect the device inside in case of dropping. When storing the plug prongs, be sure to press the button on the side before storing them. If you store them directly, the plug may be damaged and the prongs may not be able to be pushed out or retracted.
- [Multiple Protection] The adapter has multiple protections to ensure safe use, such as Over Temperature Protection, Overvoltage Protection, Overcurrent Protection, Overcharge Protection, Short Circult Protection, Overload Protection, etc. The adapter has 2 8A fuses, one is on duty, the other is a replacement. The fireproof external PC case can withstand a 750°C fire.
Put together a practical charging kit
- List the devices you will bring. Note their mains input and charging requirements from their labels or manufacturer documentation.
- Map the destinations. Identify the socket system in every country and select an adapter that explicitly covers those sockets.
- Separate plug fit from voltage support. Confirm that each device or charger accepts local mains input; use conversion only as directed by its manufacturer.
- Select the USB-C charger and cables. Match output, the number of devices charged at once, and cable capability to the devices you listed.
- Decide whether to bring a power bank. If you do, check its Wh rating, permitted quantity, cabin-baggage handling, and in-flight restrictions with the operating airline close to travel.
