Best Touchscreen Treadmills in 2026: Displays, Incline, Subscriptions, and Fit

The best touchscreen treadmill depends on how you train and what you are willing to maintain. NordicTrack’s X24/X16 models emphasize large pivoting displays and unusually steep incline-and-decline simulation; ProForm’s Carbon Pro 9000 pairs a 16-inch screen with 12% incline; Peloton’s Tread uses a Full HD, 360-degree-moving screen that also supports floor workouts. All three are connected products, so membership requirements, Wi-Fi, room dimensions, warranty terms, and service matter as much as the screen.

The specifications below come from manufacturer product information available in October 2026. They are not results from a common laboratory test, and prices, stock, software features, and warranty language can change by model and country.

Quick answer: which touchscreen treadmill fits your use?

Choose the machine whose physical specifications match your workouts before you compare entertainment features. NordicTrack’s X Series is the strongest match for runners who want steep virtual terrain: the company lists up to 40% incline and -6% decline, with either a 24-inch or 16-inch pivoting HD display and speeds up to 12 mph. ProForm’s Carbon Pro 9000 is a simpler fit when a 16-inch touchscreen, 12 mph top speed, and 0–12% incline cover your training. Peloton’s Tread is the most flexible for people who alternate running with instructor-led floor sessions because its Full HD touchscreen pivots through 360 degrees; Peloton lists a footprint of 6 by 3 feet.

None is automatically “best.” The final decision should account for deck and clearance dimensions, maximum user weight, folding and storage, noise, connectivity, membership cost, delivery and assembly, return charges, and local service. Manufacturer product pages do not provide consistent values for all of those fields, so verify the exact configuration before ordering.

  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

What a touchscreen treadmill actually adds

A touchscreen treadmill combines a motorized running deck with an onboard display and software. The screen can show speed, incline, workout cues, scenic routes, classes, or entertainment, while the machine may change speed or incline automatically during a coached session. That convenience is different from the basic ability to run: a treadmill should still be judged on deck size, motor behavior, controls, stability, and serviceability.

Connected features are commonly cloud-dependent. NordicTrack and ProForm state that paid iFIT access and Wi-Fi are required for full content and features on the cited series. Peloton’s Tread is built around its connected experience as well. Ask the seller exactly which workouts, metrics, manual controls, and software functions remain available if you do not renew a membership.

Model or series Screen and movement Published speed and terrain Connectivity Warranty information in the cited material Best comparison angle
NordicTrack X24 / X16 24-inch or 16-inch HD pivot display Up to 12 mph; advertised range up to 40% incline and down to -6% decline Paid iFIT and Wi-Fi required for full content and features Model- and market-specific; check the exact terms Largest display option and widest terrain simulation, balanced against space, membership, and warranty details
ProForm Carbon Pro 9000 16-inch touchscreen Up to 12 mph; 0–12% incline Paid iFIT and Wi-Fi required for full content and features Model- and market-specific; check the exact terms Connected workouts in a potentially more compact-oriented series, subject to the buyer’s running and room requirements
Peloton Tread Full HD touchscreen with 360-degree movement Comparable speed and incline figures were not stated in the cited material Connected Peloton experience; app integrations with Apple Health, Garmin Connect, and Fitbit were described as applying from January 2026 12-month limited warranty; 3-year belt and motor guarantee; 5-year frame guarantee, as listed by Peloton Screen movement for cross-training and a distinct connected class ecosystem

These figures are manufacturer claims, not a side-by-side test. NordicTrack’s own comparison page with Peloton was updated April 15, 2026; its prices or judgments are company-authored and can become outdated. Treat every number as belonging to the named model and market, not to an entire brand.

Screen size and movement: the differences you will notice every session

NordicTrack X24 and X16

The X Series gives you a choice between a 24-inch and a 16-inch HD display, and the screens pivot. A larger panel is easier to read when the treadmill is several feet from your eyes, while the smaller version may suit a tighter room or a lower visual footprint. Pivoting is useful when you want to follow a class beside the treadmill, but it does not remove the need to leave safe space around the deck and moving parts.

ProForm Carbon Pro 9000

ProForm lists a 16-inch touchscreen. That size is comparable to the smaller X Series option, so compare the complete console dimensions, viewing angle, control layout, and the amount of tilt or rotation offered by the exact unit rather than assuming that all 16-inch displays behave alike.

Peloton Tread

Peloton describes a Full HD touchscreen that moves through 360 degrees. The full rotation is the clearest reason to consider this treadmill for users who switch from running to strength, mobility, or other floor-based sessions. Confirm that the room allows the screen to rotate without striking a wall, shelf, light, or person.

Incline, decline, and the kind of workouts each machine can represent

Terrain range changes how a treadmill can structure a workout. A machine that only inclines can still support hills and intervals, but it cannot reproduce downhill portions that load the legs differently. NordicTrack advertises the broadest range in this group—up to 40% incline and -6% decline—for its X Series. That is an advertised capability, not a promise that every class or route uses the full range.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

ProForm lists 0–12% incline for the Carbon Pro 9000. This covers walking, steady running, and moderate hill intervals, but it is not equivalent to the X Series’ stated high-incline or decline range. Peloton’s Tread product information did not state a comparable speed or incline range, so obtain the exact specification if hill training is central to your plan.

Before relying on any terrain number, check whether it applies to the precise model, whether automatic adjustments can be overridden, and whether your floor, ceiling height, and user weight allow the deck to operate safely at maximum elevation.

Running performance: specifications you must verify separately

Manufacturer product information does not establish a consistent set of deck dimensions, maximum user weights, folding mechanisms, motor ratings, noise measurements, or shock-absorption tests for all three options. Do not infer equivalence from screen size or price. For each exact model, locate and record:

These checks protect you from buying a treadmill that has an impressive display but an unsuitable running surface or footprint.

Memberships, Wi-Fi, and what happens when you stop paying

iFIT on NordicTrack and ProForm

For the NordicTrack X Series and ProForm Carbon Pro 9000, the manufacturers say paid iFIT access and Wi-Fi are required for full content and features. That may include the complete coached library, adaptive plans, scenic sessions, automatic terrain changes, progress tracking, or other software functions. The exact offline and non-member behavior is model-specific.

Peloton’s connected experience

Peloton’s Tread is designed around its own class and account ecosystem. The cited information notes integrations with Apple Health, Garmin Connect, and Fitbit as applying from January 2026. Integration support can change with app versions and regional availability, so confirm compatibility for your phone, watch, and account before purchase.

Questions to ask before subscribing

  1. Can the belt run in a manual mode without an active membership?
  2. Which on-device metrics and controls remain visible when the account is inactive?
  3. Can downloaded sessions be used without an internet connection, or is Wi-Fi required at every start?
  4. Is a membership tied to one household, one machine, or a number of user profiles?
  5. What happens to saved workouts, settings, and history after cancellation?

Do not treat a treadmill’s included trial, if any, as its long-term cost. Current subscription prices, trial lengths, or regional taxes were not provided in the cited manufacturer material, so check the checkout terms for your country.

Space planning: measure more than the showroom footprint

Peloton lists a 6-by-3-foot footprint for the Tread. That is a useful starting point, not a complete installation plan. A treadmill also needs room in front, behind, and at the sides for access, ventilation, safe mounting and dismounting, and the movement of a pivoting screen.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

For NordicTrack and ProForm, obtain both operating and folded dimensions for the exact configuration. Incline can raise the front of the deck and change overhead clearance. A large display may swing into a different arc than a smaller one. Measure doorways, stairs, elevators, and turns along the delivery route, not just the final room.

Place the unit on a stable, level surface and follow the manual’s clearance instructions. A floor mat can be an optional installation accessory, but the cited material does not establish that any particular mat is required or compatible with every floor.

Warranty coverage is not interchangeable

Peloton lists separate periods: a 12-month limited warranty, a 3-year guarantee for the belt and motor, and a 5-year guarantee for the frame. Those periods cover different components and may have exclusions, labor limits, or regional conditions.

NordicTrack and ProForm warranty terms are model- and market-specific in the cited material. A headline warranty length is therefore not enough for comparison. Read the actual document for:

  • Coverage for the frame, motor, belt, electronics, display, and labor.
  • Whether parts and labor are handled separately.

How to choose the right model: a practical decision process

  1. Define your primary workout. For steep hill and downhill simulation, start with the NordicTrack X Series’ advertised 40% to -6% range. For ordinary walking and running with up to 12% incline, the ProForm Carbon Pro 9000 may meet the stated requirement. For frequent floor classes beside the machine, prioritize Peloton’s 360-degree screen movement.
  2. Set a running-surface minimum. Write down the belt width and length you need, then reject any model whose exact specification is missing until the manufacturer or retailer supplies it.
  3. Measure the room and route. Include the treadmill at maximum incline, the display’s rotation path, and the clearance required by the manual. Check every doorway and stair turn.
  4. Decide how you will use connected content. If you expect coached or scenic sessions, budget for the required membership and reliable Wi-Fi. If you want to train without a subscription, confirm manual-mode behavior in writing.
  5. Compare component warranties. Put frame, motor, belt, electronics, and labor in separate rows. Do not compare Peloton’s component-specific periods with an unspecified NordicTrack or ProForm headline.
  6. Confirm delivery and service. Ask who assembles the treadmill, whether old equipment is removed, how long delivery takes in your area, and where repairs are performed.
  7. Check the return policy. Verify the inspection window, pickup responsibility, restocking or return fees, and whether a membership cancellation is separate from returning the hardware.

Setup and first-use checklist

  1. Inspect the package for shipping damage before signing delivery paperwork; photograph damage and note it immediately.
  2. Assemble the treadmill exactly as the manual specifies. Do not operate it with covers, handrails, or the safety key assembly missing.
  3. Place it on the intended level surface with the manual’s required clearance on every side.
  4. Connect power directly as instructed, attach the safety key, and complete any firmware update while the treadmill is unloaded.
  5. Create or sign in to the required account, connect Wi-Fi, and check that the screen, speakers, speed controls, incline controls, and emergency stop work.
  6. Run a short manual session at low speed. Listen for unusual noises, watch for belt tracking, and stop if the deck slips or controls respond unpredictably.
  7. Test the display’s pivot range slowly and ensure it cannot contact nearby furniture or a person.
  8. Record the model number, serial number, purchase date, and warranty-registration details.

Safety and everyday ownership

Follow the exact treadmill manual and attach the safety key as directed. Keep children and pets away from the moving deck, especially when the screen is rotated for floor workouts. Manufacturer instructions do not establish one universal clearance standard, so use the model-specific instructions rather than a generic number.

Keep the belt and surrounding floor free of objects, wear suitable footwear, and mount or dismount only when the belt is stopped or moving at a controlled speed. If you feel dizzy, experience pain, or notice a mechanical fault, stop and follow the manufacturer’s service procedure. Do not attempt electrical or motor repairs unless the manual and warranty permit that work.

Who should buy each option?

NordicTrack X24 or X16

Consider the X Series when terrain variety and a large, pivoting display are central to your training. The advertised 40% incline and -6% decline are distinctive on paper, and the 24-inch version gives the largest stated screen. Confirm the model’s exact belt, dimensions, user-weight limit, folding method, warranty, and membership behavior before committing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

ProForm Carbon Pro 9000

Consider the Carbon Pro 9000 when a 16-inch touchscreen, 12 mph top speed, and 0–12% incline match your routine. It still requires Wi-Fi and paid iFIT for full connected content according to ProForm’s cited information. Verify whether its deck and storage dimensions suit your room and stride.

Peloton Tread

Consider the Tread when the ability to rotate a Full HD screen through 360 degrees is more valuable than a published hill range. Its stated 6-by-3-foot footprint helps with initial planning, and the listed component warranties are unusually explicit. Obtain the exact running specifications, membership terms, and local service conditions before purchase.
