How to choose the right premium tablet
Start with your apps and devices
iPadOS and Android differ in app availability, file handling and how they work with your phone and computer. The product information here does not establish a benchmarked platform winner. Check that the apps you rely on—especially specialist creative or work software—support the workflows you need on the specific platform. If you regularly move files between devices, consider how your current phone and computer handle that exchange.
Pick a screen size for how you will use it
Screen size affects more than how much fits on the display. An 11-inch tablet is easier to hold for reading or travel; 12.6- and 13.2-inch models offer more room for drawing, documents and split-screen use. The S12 Ultra’s 14.6-inch panel gives a larger canvas but makes the tablet a more deliberate desk or two-handed device rather than an automatic portability upgrade.
Rank #2
- COMPACT SIZE, COMPACT FUN – The Lenovo Tab One is compact, efficient, and provides non-stop entertainment everywhere you go. It’s lightweight and has a long-lasting battery life so the fun never stops.
- SIMPLICITY IN HAND - Add a touch of style with a modern design that’s tailor-made to fit in your hand. It weighs less than a pound and has an 8.7” display that’s easy to tuck in a purse or backpack.
- NON-STOPPABLE FUN – Freedom never felt so sweet with all-day battery life and up to 12.5 hours of unplugged YouTube streaming. It’s designed to charge 15W faster than previous models so you can spend less time tethered to a power cable.
- PORTABLE MEDIA CENTER - Enjoy vibrant visuals, immersive sound, and endless entertainment anywhere you go. The HD display has 480 nits of brightness for realistic graphics and dual Dolby Atmos speakers that provide impressive sound depth.
- ELEVATED EFFICIENCY - Experience the MediaTek Helio G85 processor and 60Hz refresh rate that ensure fluid browsing, responsive gaming, and lag-free streaming.
For display specifications, Samsung lists 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels on both S12 models and a peak brightness figure of 1,600 nits. That is a manufacturer-stated peak, not a claim that the entire screen sustains that brightness in ordinary use. Apple identifies Ultra Retina XDR and ProMotion on the iPad Pro comparison page. Compare the specifications for your use—such as motion smoothness, viewing conditions and drawing—rather than assuming that a higher tier is necessary for everyone.

Budget for the input accessories you will actually use
A tablet’s starting price may not include the pen or keyboard needed for your workflow. Samsung says an S Pen is included with both S12 models, but its Pro Keyboard Covers are separately priced at ₹26,499 for the S12+ and ₹27,999 for the S12 Ultra. Apple lists Apple Pencil Pro compatibility for the Air and Pro, and the Pro supports its model-specific Magic Keyboard; do not assume either accessory is included in the tablet price. OnePlus names the Stylo Pro and Smart Keyboard as companions to Pad 4; confirm their price and availability for the exact configuration you are buying.

Choose Wi-Fi or cellular based on where you work
Wi-Fi is usually sufficient if the tablet will be used at home, school or an office with dependable internet. Pay for a cellular or 5G version only if you regularly need mobile data away from Wi-Fi, and check that the exact model and plan support your intended network. This matters when comparing starting prices: different brands’ base prices may represent different connectivity or storage tiers.
Check storage and expansion before checkout
Compare the storage capacity of the exact configurations, not just the product family name. Samsung lists microSD expansion up to 2TB for the S12 Ultra; that is an expansion limit, not included internal storage. The shortlist’s published starting prices do not establish identical storage capacities across brands, so verify the listing before treating one as cheaper value.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12: what changes on 7 October
Samsung India announced the S12+ and S12 Ultra on 1 October 2026, with availability starting 7 October. As of 4 October, the quoted ₹129,999 and ₹149,999 amounts are official starting launch prices, not evidence that the tablets are already shipping. Samsung also announced conditional offers of up to ₹5,000 bank cashback and up to ₹5,000 upgrade bonus; check the terms, eligibility and non-combinability rather than subtracting both from the price automatically.
Galaxy Tab S12+
The S12+ has a 12.6-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and includes an S Pen. Samsung lists the Wi-Fi model at 553g and the 5G model at 555g. Its Pro Keyboard Cover costs ₹26,499, so add that to the launch price if a keyboard is essential to your purchase.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra
The Ultra has a 14.6-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and includes an S Pen. Samsung lists its weight as 692g for Wi-Fi and 695g for 5G. That footprint and weight are worth considering if you expect to hold it for long reading sessions or carry it daily. The Pro Keyboard Cover is ₹27,999. Samsung lists 12GB RAM, microSD expansion up to 2TB, Wi-Fi 7 on the Wi-Fi variant and 5G options.
What the full purchase cost looks like
Use the base prices as a starting point, then price the exact configuration and required extras. A fair comparison is the cost of the setup you will use, not the tablet alone.
- Storage: select enough internal storage for your files and apps; do not assume the base tier is the same across brands.
- Connectivity: compare Wi-Fi with cellular or 5G only when mobile data is useful to you.
- Pen: Samsung includes an S Pen with the two S12 models; Apple Pencil Pro support does not mean the Pencil is included. Confirm OnePlus accessory pricing and availability.
- Keyboard: use the model-specific cover price where available, and check fit and compatibility before purchase.
- Protection and warranty: check the seller, warranty coverage and any protection plan separately; the cited starting prices do not establish their cost.
- Offers: treat cashback, exchange value and upgrade bonuses as conditional, and compare the final payable amount at checkout.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the OnePlus Pad 4 if you want the lowest listed price in this shortlist and an Android tablet with a 13.2-inch display. Verify the store’s exact configuration and add the cost of any companion accessories you need.
- Choose the iPad Air if iPadOS and Apple Pencil Pro support fit your work, and you do not need the iPad Pro’s higher-end display and feature tier.
- Choose the iPad Pro if its Ultra Retina XDR display, ProMotion and M5 configurations justify a much higher starting price for your particular work.
- Consider the Galaxy Tab S12+ if you want Samsung’s large-screen Android experience in a 12.6-inch format; verify sale availability after 7 October.
- Consider the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra if you value a 14.6-inch screen, included S Pen and microSD expansion more than easy one-handed carrying, and have budgeted for any keyboard cover.
