If you want a Star Wars game with a substantial solo story, start with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for a focused Jedi adventure. Choose Jedi: Survivor to continue Cal Kestis’s story, Star Wars Outlaws for an open-world scoundrel tale, or Star Wars Zero Company for turn-based squad tactics. Squadrons offers a starfighter campaign, while Battlefront II includes a campaign but also puts considerable emphasis on multiplayer.
Which Star Wars games are best for a solo story?
There is no objective ranking for this preference: the best choice depends on whether you want lightsaber combat, an open-world adventure, tactical squad battles, or spaceflight. These games differ in both story focus and how much multiplayer matters to the overall package.

| STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor | Continuing Cal’s story | Third-person action-adventure set five years after Fallen Order. | EA says it is single-player, has no co-op or PVP, and offers five selectable difficulty levels. Choose by the kind of story and gameplay you want
For a focused Jedi adventure: Fallen Order
Fallen Order is the clearest starting point if you want one protagonist, a Jedi-centered narrative, and solo action-adventure. Cal Kestis’s story begins after Order 66, giving this recommendation a straightforward entry point rather than requiring knowledge of another game’s plot.
For the next chapter: Jedi: Survivor
Survivor continues Cal’s journey five years later. EA says it can be played on its own, but the release order is the more natural choice if the characters and events matter to you. Its five difficulty settings let players adjust challenge without changing the fact that it is a solo game.
#1 Best Overall
- The following games are included in the cartridge: STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (3.6 GB)
- STAR WARS Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (1.1 GB)
- STAR WARS Episode I Racer (254 MB)
- STAR WARS Republic Commando (2.5 GB)
- STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed (3.4 GB)
For an open-world scoundrel story: Outlaws
Pick Outlaws if you would rather play a scoundrel navigating the original-trilogy era than a Jedi wielding a lightsaber. Its open-world format and single-player story make it the distinct choice among these recommendations for that kind of adventure.
For planning and squad tactics: Zero Company
Zero Company shifts the focus from a lone hero’s real-time combat to turn-based tactical decisions and a squad campaign set during the Clone Wars. It is the option here for players who enjoy positioning and planning more than direct action.
Rank #2
- Standard Edition for PlayStation 5 (disc) includes the full Star Wars Zero Company game. Single-player turn-based tactics set in the twilight of the Clone Wars—lead Hawks and Zero Company in an intense campaign.
- Build your squad from clone troopers, scoundrels, astromechs and even a Jedi—combine abilities and gear in deep Tactical-Strategy combat.
- Plan at your base, adapt on dynamic battlefields and make decisions that shape missions and replayability in this cinematic Star Wars story.
- Customise Hawks and your operatives, tailor loadouts and unlock powerful squad synergies designed for Strategy, Turn-Based and Sci-Fi fans.
For a starfighter campaign: Squadrons
Squadrons is the specific pick for piloting and space combat, with a solo story near the close of the Galactic Civil War. Its multiplayer modes are part of the package, so it is a better fit for someone who wants a campaign than for someone seeking a game built solely around single-player.
For a campaign plus multiplayer: Battlefront II
Battlefront II has a single-player story, but EA’s own description also highlights large multiplayer battles. Treat it as a campaign-containing game rather than a solo-first recommendation.
Rank #3
- The galaxy is yours with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Play all nine saga films and experience fun filled adventure in a galaxy far, far away
- Play through all nine films in a new, fun filled adventure
Platform and availability checks
Before buying, confirm the edition and platform on the storefront for your country. Availability, physical stock, and local pricing can vary. EA lists Jedi: Survivor for PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, and Xbox Series X|S and One; PlayStation’s US page for Fallen Order lists PS4 and PS5, one-player mode, and offline play. Those listings do not establish what is currently in stock or available in every market. No specific physical edition or retailer stock is established here for Outlaws or Zero Company.
The Knights of the Old Republic remake should not be treated as an available recommendation on the basis of its official page, which does not establish a current release status. StarWars.com’s Knights of the Old Republic page surfaces remake material; check local platform listings before considering any version.
