For a full surround setup with separate rear speakers and height channels, choose the Hisense AX5140Q. If you want a subwoofer but cannot fit rear satellites, consider the Samsung HW-B750F. For a narrow, standalone bar with no extra boxes, the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) is the compact option.

Three soundbars, three different setups
“Best” depends on what your room can accommodate. These picks trade off physical surround hardware, bass, width, and setup complexity rather than offering one universal winner. RTINGS says it has tested more than 245 soundbars; that is its stated count, not an independently audited sample. Its rankings also take price, visitor feedback, and availability into account.

| Pick | Configuration | Best fit | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hisense AX5140Q | 5.1.4 kit with dedicated subwoofer and two discrete satellite speakers | Buyers who want surround and height channels from included hardware | Needs room for the satellites and subwoofer; room correction requires a supported Hisense TV |
| Samsung HW-B750F | 5.1 soundbar and subwoofer; no discrete satellites | Buyers who want a subwoofer and a more spacious presentation without rear speakers | No Dolby Atmos support or room correction |
| Sonos Beam (Gen 2) | 5.0 standalone bar; no included subwoofer; less than 26 inches wide, according to RTINGS | Small rooms or setups where minimizing width and boxes matters | No included subwoofer; Trueplay room correction is iOS-only |
All three are listed by RTINGS in its under-$500 category, but the available evidence does not establish stable live U.S. checkout prices for each. Treat the price ceiling as something to verify at purchase, not a guaranteed current shelf price. See RTINGS’ current under-$500 shortlist.
#1 Best Overall

Hisense AX5140Q: best for an immersive surround kit
The AX5140Q is the strongest match if you want a complete package rather than a bar that tries to simulate a larger system. Its 5.1.4 configuration includes a subwoofer, two separate satellite speakers, and height-channel hardware. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. RTINGS describes its sound as having balanced vocals and immersive surround and height effects.
Its controls include graphic EQ, individual channel-level adjustment, night mode, and dialogue enhancement. Room correction, however, requires a supported Hisense TV, so check compatibility if that feature matters to you. Also make sure there is practical space and a suitable location for the satellites; the added hardware is part of what makes this configuration distinct.

Samsung HW-B750F: best when rear satellites will not fit
The HW-B750F pairs a 5.1 soundbar with a subwoofer but does not include discrete rear satellites. RTINGS recommends it for people who do not have room for satellites. Side-firing drivers provide some spaciousness, while a dedicated center channel supports dialogue. RTINGS characterizes its balance as warm and punchy, with clean, clear sound.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2): best compact standalone bar
The Beam is less than 26 inches wide and operates as a 5.0 standalone bar, with no subwoofer included. Its small footprint makes it the most convenient fit when shelf width and fewer components matter more than dedicated subwoofer bass. Do not assume a compact bar’s virtualized spatial effects are equivalent to separate rear speakers and physical height drivers.
The Sonos app can integrate the Beam with other Sonos products and offers Trueplay room correction. RTINGS says Trueplay is available only on iOS; Android users can adjust bass and treble manually. If you expect strong standalone low bass or want an included subwoofer, the other two configurations are a better fit.

How to choose between them
- Choose the Hisense AX5140Q if you can place satellites and want the included height and surround hardware, plus Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support.
- Choose the Samsung HW-B750F if you want a subwoofer and some spaciousness but cannot place discrete satellites, and you are comfortable giving up Atmos.
- Choose the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) if a narrow, one-piece setup is the priority and you accept having no included subwoofer.
Before ordering, measure the available space for the bar and any separate speakers, check the subwoofer’s placement options, and confirm the current price, stock, seller, and exact model number. Retail prices and availability can vary by seller and region.

The Samsung HW-Q600F is a separate 2025 model, not the recommended HW-B750F. Samsung’s U.S. product page described it as a 3.1.2-channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X, and Q-Symphony; on October 7, 2026, the page displayed $699.99 and no delivery or pickup availability. That page’s displayed price is not evidence of an under-$500 offer. Some features require a compatible Samsung TV, and the model has no app support. RTINGS says the SWA-9250S wireless rear-speaker kit can add satellites, but check compatibility and regional SKU suffixes before considering it.

Other published guides provide context, not a like-for-like price comparison: What Hi-Fi?’s 2026 budget guide also discusses the Beam (Gen 2), Sony HT-S2000, and JBL Bar 300MK2, and describes the Beam’s Atmos presentation as virtualized.
