The best robot vacuum-and-mop combo depends on your floor mix and the messes you expect it to handle. For mostly hard floors, the Roborock QV 35S has the strongest published debris results in this group. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a lower-cost, feature-rich option if occasional navigation errors and extra rug passes are acceptable. Homes where mopping is the priority should consider the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai, while the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete targets buyers willing to pay premium prices for more automated dock and mop features.
No model is a universal winner. Hardwood, low-pile rugs and high-pile carpet produce materially different pickup results, and a dock that empties dust, manages water and dries pads still needs space and consumables. Use the surface-by-surface evidence below rather than choosing on suction figures alone.

How to choose a robot vacuum and mop for your floors
Start with the dominant surface
Hard-floor results are not a reliable proxy for carpet performance. The QV 35S illustrates the gap: in Tom’s Guide’s 2026 testing it collected 92% of test hair, 94.5% of puffed-rice cereal and 98% of flax seeds from hardwood. On low-pile carpet, the same review recorded 60% hair, 93% cereal and 99.5% flax. Hair and smaller debris were more difficult on high-pile carpet.

- A DEEPER CLEAN—EVEN WHERE DIRT LOVES TO HIDE. With advanced DualClean Mop Pads and PerfectEdge technology the Roomba Plus 505X reaches deeper into corners and along walls, covering 18% more floor area* so spills, crumbs, and sticky spots don’t get left behind. * Compared to standard vacuum & mop mode on coffee and grime.
- THE DOCK THAT HANDLES THE DIRTY WORK. The AutoWash Dock empties debris for up to 75 days and washes, refreshes, and heat‑dries mop pads—so you enjoy up to 4 weeks of hands‑free mopping* with consistently fresh results.
- POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR REAL‑LIFE MESSES. From scattered cereal to muddy pawprints, enjoy confident cleaning with up to 70× stronger suction* paired with dual mop pads, a multi‑surface rubber brush, and edge‑sweeping brush. * As compared to Roomba 600 series robots.
- AVOIDS CORDS, SOCKS—EVEN PET ACCIDENTS. PrecisionVision AI instantly recognizes common household obstacles and steers around them. It also detects wet and dry messes ahead and automatically makes extra passes for a noticeably cleaner result.
- SMARTER NAVIGATION, FEWER WORRIES. ClearView Pro LiDAR maps your home precisely and cleans efficiently day or night, while built‑in cliff sensors help prevent falls near stairs and ledges.
If most of your home is tile, sealed wood or another hard surface, prioritize debris pickup, stain handling and the dock’s water workflow. If you have thick rugs, look for carpet sensing plus a physical way to prevent wet pads contacting the rug, and read carpet-specific test results rather than the headline suction rating.
Separate dry debris from wet mess performance
Vacuuming and mopping are different jobs. A robot can collect cereal effectively yet leave an oily film, or remove a dried splash only after several passes. Vacuum Wars says its 2026 test suite measures 14 dried stains, water left behind, carpet handling, navigation and mop/dock features. That breadth is more useful than comparing Pascal figures in isolation, but results remain specific to the publisher’s methods and test conditions.
Decide how much dock work you will accept
Self-emptying reduces bin handling; water management reduces tank filling and emptying; pad washing and hot-air drying reduce the need to remove wet pads after every run. Those conveniences add dock size, plumbing-like routines for clean and dirty tanks, and possible consumables such as disposable dust bags. Measure the proposed location with the robot’s approach path clear, not just the dock’s width.

Model-by-model guide
Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2: a budget candidate with a broad feature set
Tom’s Guide identifies the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 as a budget robot mop with spinning pads, self-cleaning, hot-air drying and 10,000 Pa listed suction. In its hard-floor tests, it picked up 80% of Cheerios and 95% of kitty litter. The guide also describes the mop as capable with sticky messes.
Those numbers make it a sensible lower-cost match for homes dominated by hard flooring and routine food debris. They do not establish equivalent performance on every floor or stain. Tom’s Guide reports that navigation occasionally struggled and that pet hair on rugs required extra passes. In a cluttered layout with many chair legs, thresholds or narrow turns, that limitation can matter more than the suction specification.

Roborock QV 35S: strongest published hard-floor evidence, with a carpet warning
The QV 35S is the clearest hard-floor performer in the cited comparisons. Tom’s Guide measured 92% test-hair pickup, 94.5% puffed-rice-cereal pickup and 98% flax-seed pickup on hardwood. On low-pile carpet, the results changed to 60% hair, 93% cereal and 99.5% flax. The review says hair and smaller debris were difficult on high-pile carpet.
Its mop system demonstrates why a carpet-protection feature is useful but not magical. The robot recognized carpet and lifted its pads. On hard flooring, the review reports that mud and dried soy sauce were cleaned over repeated passes, while some oily mayonnaise residue remained. Pad lifting protects the rug from routine wet contact; it does not guarantee that every stain disappears or that a damp edge never reaches a rug.

That can remove several daily chores, but you still need a reachable dock location and a plan for tanks and any consumables the system uses.
MOVA V70 Ultra Complete: premium dock and mop automation
Vacuum Wars’ guide, updated October 7, 2026, places the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete in its $1,000–$1,300 premium tier and names it the tier’s pick. The guide lists spinning pads, automatic mop removal, edge cleaning, detergent dispensing and a bagless dock. It showed a $999 sale price at the time of access.

Its dual rotating electric side brushes sweep and collect hidden pet hair more efficiently throughout the house, saving you the hassle.
Automatic mop removal is a different protection strategy from simply lifting pads: the mop components can be taken off the robot when the cleaning plan calls for vacuuming carpets. That may appeal to homes with mixed surfaces, but the cited material does not establish long-term reliability, service coverage or performance percentages for this model. Treat the selection as Vacuum Wars’ price-tier recommendation, not proof that it beats every less-expensive combo.
Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai: choose it when mopping is the priority
Tom’s Guide calls the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai the best robot vacuum/mop combo it tested in its guide. It uses a roller mop, self-cleaning, self-drying and 18,000 Pa listed suction. A roller design can be attractive for frequent wet cleaning because it continuously presents a cleaning surface, but the guide’s recommendation is specifically for readers who prioritize mopping.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The trade-offs are a large dock and a higher price. Check that the dock can sit where the robot can approach straight on and that opening its tanks or service areas will not be blocked by furniture. The cited guide does not provide a price figure or a comparative debris table for this model, so do not infer that its suction number predicts better carpet pickup than the QV 35S.
Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro: a recent dry-carpet design to investigate
TechRadar’s September 2026 review describes the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro as a combo with detachable mop plates intended to keep carpets dry. It lists an August 2026 launch and regional list prices of $799.99, £649.99 and AU$1,199. The reviewer notes that the robot is relatively tall and that intensive mopping can leave the floor wet.

- SONIC MOPPING FOR STUCK-ON STAINS: Sonic mopping scrubs floors up to 100x per minute to lift tough stains, grime, and dried spills, while intelligently avoiding carpets; use the SharkClean app to set carpet zones for vacuum-only cleaning.
- SELF-EMPTYING & SELF-CLEANING BASE: The NeverTouch base self-empties debris into a 60- day capacity bagless bin, refills water for up to 30 days, and automatically washes and dries the mop after every clean for convenient, hands-free cleaning.
- PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: Advanced suction and sonic mopping removes pet hair, dirt, and dander, while HEPA filtration with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal helps trap dust and allergens for a fresher home.
- EDGE & CORNER CLEANING WITH EDGE DETECT: Blasts of air pull debris from edges and corners into the cleaning path, ensuring more thorough pickup along walls and tight spaces.
Detachable plates are promising for mixed floors, but they create a different ownership question: where will the removed parts go, and will you use the mode consistently? Measure low furniture before ordering. Because the cited comparison does not provide the same debris and stain figures available for the QV 35S, use the Qrevo 2 Pro as a feature and price comparison rather than a proven performance leader.
Protecting rugs during a combined run
Look for one of three mechanisms: carpet detection with pad lifting, automatic removal of mop plates, or a cleaning map that lets you exclude rugs. The QV 35S provides a concrete example of detection and lifting. The Qrevo 2 Pro uses detachable plates, according to TechRadar. A feature label is not a guarantee: wet edges, incorrect carpet classification, a damp floor after intensive mopping or a map error can still create a problem.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- During the first mapping run, watch the robot cross every rug and threshold.
- Confirm in the app that carpets are identified correctly and that the selected routine lifts or removes the mop hardware.
- For delicate, shaggy or high-pile rugs, create a no-mop zone until you have verified the behavior.
- After a wet cycle, inspect the rug edge and the hard floor for leftover water before scheduling another unattended run.
What the stain tests mean in daily use
Sticky and dried messes require dwell time, water and repeated passes. Tom’s Guide reports that the QV 35S removed mud and dried soy sauce over repeated passes but left some oily mayonnaise residue. That is a realistic boundary: a robot can maintain floors and reduce fresh spills without replacing immediate spot cleaning for thick grease or a set-in stain.
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is described as capable with sticky messes, but its cited figures are debris-pickup percentages rather than a standardized stain score. Vacuum Wars’ 14-dried-stain methodology shows why a broad test suite matters, yet Vacuum Wars’ published results do not provide a model-by-model stain table from that suite. Compare like with like and avoid turning one publisher’s qualitative description into a universal ranking.

Measure before you buy
- Record the dock’s footprint and height, then add clearance for the robot to enter and leave.
- Check that you can remove clean and dirty water tanks, dust containers or bags without moving the dock.
- Allow a dry, level surface; a wet-mop dock needs ventilation for pad drying and access for cleaning.
Understand what “self-maintaining” covers
Self-emptying addresses collected dust, not tangled hair in the brush or a blocked inlet. Water management addresses filling and draining, not mineral buildup or a dirty tank. Pad washing and hot-air drying reduce manual handling, not the need to inspect pads and the wash tray. The Dreame listing includes self-cleaning and hot-air drying; the QV 35S dock handles dust, water and pad cleaning; the MOVA dock is described as bagless with detergent dispensing; and the Dyson system is described as self-cleaning and self-drying. These are different bundles, so compare the exact tasks rather than assuming every “Ultra” dock does the same thing.
Set a practical ownership routine
- Empty or replace the dock’s dust collection system when the app or indicator requests it.
- Refill clean water and remove dirty water according to the dock’s instructions; do not leave stagnant water in a tank between long absences.
- Inspect the brush, side brush, wheels and sensors for wrapped hair or debris.
- Check mop pads and the wash tray for residue, even when the dock washes and dries them.
- Keep firmware, maps and consumable replacement intervals aligned with the manufacturer’s current instructions.
The cited sources do not establish replacement-part compatibility, long-term reliability, warranty quality or country-specific service. Confirm those points locally before treating a dock as a set-and-forget appliance.
Best Value
- UP TO 75 DAYS HANDS-FREE CLEANING. Dirt and dust stay gone because it empties into the AutoEmpty dock with a bag that traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns. That means no mess or cloud of dust when you empty it. Just drop the used bag into the trash and put a new one in the base.
- DEVOURS DIRT WITH 70X MORE POWER-LIFTING SUCTION. Find, reach and eliminate messes with the combined power of 70X more suction*, multi-surface brush, 20% better edge and corner cleaning with an edge-sweeping brush, to devour dirt and dust bunnies, plus a microfiber mop pad to leave floors shiny.
- SUPER-SMART MAPPING AND NAVIGATION. ClearView LiDAR quickly maps your home to maximize coverage and provide a precise clean while steering smoothly around obstacles and specialized sensors prevent falling down stairs.
- RUGS STAY DRY WHILE MOPPING. Unlike other cleaning robots, the Roomba 105 Combo Robot automatically detects and avoids carpets while mopping so your rugs stay dry – no complex programming required.
- FULLY CUSTOM CLEANING. Choose from settings including vac only, mop only, or combo vac-mop. Schedule and target rooms based on your daily routine and adjust the number of cleaning passes, levels of suction power, and amount of mopping solution pumped onto the microfiber mopping pad.
Navigation and home-layout checklist
Navigation quality determines whether a robot finishes a route or repeatedly retries the same corner. The Dreame review notes occasional navigation trouble. Tight corners, clutter, dark transitions and furniture with low clearance are common stress points for any mapping system, while the Qrevo 2 Pro’s relatively tall body adds a specific under-furniture constraint.
- Clear cords, socks and small toys before the first map.
- Measure the lowest furniture edge against the robot’s height.
- Keep the dock in a permanent location so saved maps remain useful.
- Use room labels and no-go or no-mop zones for pet bowls, cable clusters and delicate rugs.
- Run a supervised full-home cycle before enabling a recurring schedule.
Buying by budget without overreading sale prices
The evidence supports a price-tier approach, not a single universal “best budget” label. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is identified as a budget candidate, but no fixed price is established in the cited material. Vacuum Wars places the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete in the $1,000–$1,300 premium bracket and reports a $999 sale price on October 7, 2026. TechRadar lists the Qrevo 2 Pro at $799.99, £649.99 and AU$1,199 as regional list prices in its September 2026 review.
Promotional prices can disappear, and regional bundles may contain different pads, detergent or dust supplies. Compare the delivered price, dock consumables and replacement parts available in your country, not only the robot’s advertised figure.
A decision path that fits most homes
- Mostly hard floors and ordinary dry debris: start with the QV 35S’s published hardwood results, then compare dock size and current price.
- Hard floors, sticky spots and a lower budget: evaluate the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2, accepting the reported navigation and rug-hair limitations.
- Frequent mopping is the main reason for buying: consider the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai’s roller mop and self-cleaning/self-drying system, provided its large dock fits.
- Mixed floors and maximum automation: compare the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete’s mop removal and bagless, detergent-equipped dock with the Qrevo 2 Pro’s detachable plates.
- High-pile carpet or heavy pet hair: treat every combo as a vacuum first and inspect carpet-specific evidence; the QV 35S and Dreame results show why hardwood claims cannot be generalized.
Common problems and fixes
The robot leaves hair on rugs
Check whether the problem appears only on low- or high-pile carpet, clean the brush and inlet, and run an additional pass in the affected room. The QV 35S’s published hair pickup fell from 92% on hardwood to 60% on low-pile carpet, while the Dreame guide reports extra passes for pet hair on rugs; neither result is corrected by increasing a suction number alone.
The floor is still greasy after mopping
Remove heavy grease manually, verify that the pad is clean and wet, and use repeated passes where the app allows them. Tom’s Guide observed remaining oily mayonnaise residue on the QV 35S after its other reported stain work, so a residual film is a known limitation rather than proof that the dock failed.
A rug becomes damp
Pause the run, inspect carpet recognition and map boundaries, and create a no-mop zone until the route is corrected. Pad lifting or removal reduces risk but cannot compensate for a wrong map, an unrecognized rug or water left behind after intensive mopping.
The robot misses rooms or circles furniture
Clear the route, clean navigation sensors, return the dock to its mapped position and remap if the layout changed. The reported navigation struggles on the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 make a supervised first map especially important in intricate homes.
