Choose the Roborock Qrevo Curv for a more general-purpose machine that also cleans hard floors strongly in TechRadar and RTINGS assessments. Homes with rugs, pets, high thresholds, low furniture or heavy clutter should weigh navigation and mop handling at least as heavily as suction figures.
There is no universal winner. A robot that excels at dry debris may not be the easiest stain cleaner, and a dock that minimizes daily work needs more floor space and adds cost. The guide below separates independent test observations from manufacturer feature claims so you can match the machine to your floors and your tolerance for maintenance.

Best hard-floor robot vacuums at a glance
| Model | Best fit | What the published testing or product information says | Main trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eureka J20 | Homes centered on hard-floor vacuuming and frequent mopping | TechRadar’s hard-floor pick; 8,000 Pa maximum suction specification; roller mop continuously siphons dirty water and adds clean water; dock empties and refills tanks and cleans and dries the mop. | Large dock, high purchase cost and short battery life when using stronger settings were reported in the guide’s testing. |
| Roborock Qrevo Curv | Most people who want one robot for hard floors and mixed household duties | TechRadar’s best robot vacuum for most people; 18,500 Pa maximum suction specification, dual spinning-disc mops and self-emptying. TechRadar reported strong suction and mopping results, and RTINGS includes it among hardwood-floor recommendations. | Its spinning-pad system is a different maintenance and stain-cleaning proposition from a continuously refreshed roller. Actual results depend on layout, debris and settings. |
| Roborock Saros 10R | Shoppers prioritizing navigation and obstacle handling | Included in RTINGS’ current hardwood-floor list. The published material does not establish a single suction, mop or price figure that can be compared directly with the two picks above. | Confirm the exact variant, current test position, price and dock dimensions before buying. |
| MOVA P50 Pro Ultra | Readers considering a feature-rich alternative | Included in RTINGS’ current list, with the list covering different strengths in debris pickup, stain removal and obstacle handling. | The supplied product information does not provide a complete, directly comparable specification set. |
| Ecovacs DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI | Readers comparing another all-in-one dock option | Appears in RTINGS’ current hardwood-floor recommendations, which were refreshed on August 7, 2026. | Check the latest assessment and regional availability; older lists may no longer reflect RTINGS’ recommendations. |
| eufy Omni E25 | Mixed floors and pet-hair households interested in a roller mop | eufy’s manufacturer-authored guide describes a combined vacuum/mop, roller mopping, an all-in-one station and features aimed at mixed floors and pet hair. | Those are manufacturer statements, not independent performance validation in the material reviewed. |
Published Pascal (Pa) values describe a maximum suction specification, not a standardized floor-cleaning score. Do not rank models solely by 18,500 Pa versus 8,000 Pa; brush design, airflow, edge coverage, navigation, floor debris and the cleaning pass all affect what remains on the floor.

What makes a robot vacuum suitable for hard floors?
Hard flooring includes sealed hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, tile, stone, vinyl and similar surfaces. These floors expose fine dust, grit, crumbs, hair and dried spills differently from carpet. A useful machine must do two separate jobs:
#1 Best Overall
- 【2-in-1 Mopping and Vacuuming】 The ROPVACNIC Robot S1 integrates advanced electronically controlled mopping technology, significantly enhancing both cleaning efficiency and effectiveness, which makes your floors remain free from footprints, dirt, and dust throughout the day. It features an upgraded high-capacity water tank with a four-stage personalized water adjustment system, enabling it to address various stains across different settings according to user requirements.
- 【Comprehensive Intelligent Control】 Multiple Cleaning Modes, combined with personalized settings, allow you to easily accomplish various household cleaning tasks with zero effort from your smartphone. Moreover, by voice commands, you can start your cleaning while kicking back and relaxing (compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant). Enjoy an utterly hands-free cleaning experience.
- 【5200Pa Powerful Suction】A 3-point cleaning system coupled with strong suction ensures your floors are free from all dirt, dust, and crumbs for a thorough, superior clean. The highly passable compact design combined with 3-level suction facilitates cleaning in hard-to-reach areas where you can't, making it suitable for a wide range of surfaces from wood, and hard floors to low pile carpets.
- 【Smarter High Automation & Self-Recharge】 The robot aspiradora is equipped with an advanced high-coverage sensing system and multiple algorithmic data points, enabling autonomous completion of cleaning tasks—from scheduled starting, detecting obstacles, adjusting direction, and switching modes, to automatically returning to recharge. This hassle-free operation ensures a clean home when you return.
- 【Engineered for Pet Owner】 The exclusive no-entanglement design negates the need for your dirty hands to clean up tangled dog or cat hair, unlike traditional roller brushes. Its dual rotating electric side brushes sweep and collect hidden pet hair more efficiently throughout the house, saving you the hassle.
- Dry pickup: collect abrasive grit and fine dust without scattering it, reach edges and avoid leaving hair wrapped around the brush.
- Wet cleaning: loosen or remove marks when you want mopping, while controlling water near wood seams and furniture.
Some homes need only vacuuming. Others benefit from a vacuum-and-mop robot that can run often enough to prevent tracked-in soil from becoming a stain. Decide which job matters before comparing dock features or suction numbers.
How to choose: the criteria that matter most
1. Debris pickup, not the headline suction number
Maximum suction is measured under a product’s own specification conditions and is not a common test standard. A high figure can coexist with weak edge pickup, a brush that scatters rice-sized debris or poor hair management. Look for independent observations covering fine dust, larger crumbs, hair and the floor types in your home. TechRadar reported strong suction performance for the Qrevo Curv in its testing, while its J20 guide emphasizes the machine’s hard-floor and mopping focus; those observations are more useful than treating either Pa figure as a league table.
2. Roller mop versus spinning pads
A roller mop contacts the floor with a continuously moving surface. The J20’s roller is described as siphoning dirty water away and adding clean water as it works, while its dock washes and dries the mop. Spinning-disc systems, such as the Qrevo Curv’s dual pads, scrub with rotating pads and return to the dock for their maintenance cycle. Neither design is established as universally superior. A refreshed roller can be attractive for repeated wet passes, whereas spinning pads may suit buyers who prefer a familiar dual-pad arrangement. Check how the robot handles a dirty pad or roller during a long run, not only how the system looks in a product photograph.

3. What happens on rugs and carpet?
Mixed-floor homes need a robot that recognizes rugs, avoids wetting them and continues vacuuming effectively after leaving hard flooring. Verify whether the chosen model lifts its mop, retracts it, or requires a no-mop zone or physical removal. A robot that cannot keep a damp mop away from a delicate rug may need separate room schedules even if its hard-floor results are excellent.
4. Thresholds, furniture and clutter
Measure the tallest door saddle, transition strip and rug edge the robot must cross. Also measure the clearance beneath sofas, cabinets and beds, including any sagging fabric that reduces the usable height. Obstacle avoidance varies: a machine that sees cables and pet toys reliably can complete a run with less preparation, while another may need floors cleared first. RTINGS’ current list distinguishes models partly by obstacle handling, so navigation is a selection criterion rather than a minor convenience.
5. Dock footprint and service access
Self-emptying, tank refilling, mop washing and drying reduce hands-on work but require a permanent parking area with room to open or remove tanks. TechRadar praised the J20’s dock functions while noting that the dock is large. Before purchase, allow space for the robot to approach straight on, for doors or tanks to open, and for you to reach filters, brushes and dirty-water containers. A dock squeezed into a corner can turn an automated routine into a daily chore.
6. Battery behavior and noise
Battery life changes with suction level, mopping, navigation complexity and the number of passes. The J20 guide reports short battery life on stronger settings, so a larger home may require automatic recharge-and-resume cycles or lower power. Check whether the robot can resume where it stopped. If the machine will run while people work or sleep, look for a quiet mode and schedule cleaning when noise is acceptable; no single published noise figure in the supplied material supports a universal ranking.
7. Purchase price and recurring supplies
Prices and US stock change quickly. The available comparisons describe the J20 as expensive but do not provide a stable price, and no live price should be assumed from an older page. Budget for bags if the dock uses them, filters, brushes, mop components and approved cleaning solution. Roborock lists compatible replacement main brushes and manufacturer floor-cleaning solution for supported models; verify the exact robot variant before ordering, and do not assume every owner needs every accessory.
Detailed look at the leading choices
Eureka J20: the hard-floor and mopping specialist
TechRadar names the J20 its hard-floor pick. The guide reports an 8,000 Pa maximum suction specification and a roller mop designed to continuously siphon dirty water while adding clean water. That arrangement is intended to keep the contact surface fresher during a run than a pad that simply becomes wetter and dirtier, although the published material does not establish a universal advantage on every stain or floor finish.
Rank #2

- Ultra-Slim Design, Smart Sensors: The robot cleaner is 2.99 inches in height, it easily reaches under beds, sofas, and cabinets for thorough cleaning. With anti-collision and anti-fall sensor technology, it intelligently navigates around obstacles, walls, and stairs
The all-in-one dock is the J20’s defining ownership feature. It handles tank emptying and refilling and cleans and dries the mop, reducing the number of times you need to handle wet components. The same dock is physically large, and TechRadar lists its size and high cost as drawbacks. The guide also reports short battery life when stronger settings are selected. In a large or heavily soiled home, plan for recharge-and-resume behavior and a dock location that can accommodate its footprint.
Choose the J20 when hard-floor mopping is central, you value automated mop care, and you can accept the dock space and investment. It is less compelling if your home is mostly carpet, your storage area is tight, or you rarely want wet cleaning.

Roborock Qrevo Curv: the broadest general-purpose option
TechRadar calls the Qrevo Curv its best robot vacuum for most people and reports an 18,500 Pa maximum suction specification, dual spinning-disc mops and self-emptying. In that guide’s testing it performed strongly for both suction and mopping. RTINGS also includes the original Curv among hardwood-floor recommendations.
The Curv’s spinning pads differ fundamentally from the J20’s roller. Pads rotate against the floor and are returned to the dock for washing; this can suit a household that wants vacuuming and regular light mopping without a separate mop. The material reviewed does not establish that the pads remove every dried or greasy mark better than a refreshed roller, so consider your typical spills and your willingness to maintain pads and dirty-water parts.
RTINGS notes that the newer Qrevo Curv 2 Flow uses a roller mop, while its assessment still finds the original Curv stronger overall for cleaning. Treat those as model-specific findings: confirm the exact name and variant in the listing, because a similar-sounding replacement is not automatically the same machine.
Other models on the current comparison radar
RTINGS’ list also includes the Saros 10R, MOVA P50 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI. The list was substantially refreshed on August 7, 2026, with models added and recommendations changed. That date matters because a page saved from an earlier buying cycle can recommend discontinued or superseded products. Use these models as alternatives to investigate when a particular strength—such as obstacle handling, debris pickup or stain removal—matches your home, then read the current assessment for the exact variant and region.
eufy Omni E25: a manufacturer-described mixed-floor option
eufy’s own guide presents the Omni E25 as a combined vacuum and mop with roller mopping, an all-in-one station and features aimed at mixed floors and pet hair. Those details can help you identify the type of system you want, but they are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results in the supplied material. Seek independent measurements and confirm rug behavior, dock dimensions and replacement-part availability before treating it as an alternative to the tested picks.
Roller mops and spinning pads: a practical comparison
| Question | Continuously refreshed roller | Dual spinning pads |
|---|---|---|
| Contact method | A moving roller wipes the floor while the system removes dirty water and supplies clean water on the J20 as described by TechRadar. | Two rotating discs scrub the floor; the Qrevo Curv uses this design. |
| In-run soil management | Designed to refresh the contact surface during cleaning, but dirty tanks and channels still need servicing. | Pads can accumulate soil during a run and rely on dock washing between cycles. |
| Rug transitions | Confirm lift, retraction or no-mop-zone behavior for the exact model. | Confirm lift height or removal behavior; do not assume every spinning-pad robot protects rugs identically. |
| Best reason to choose | You want frequent wet cleaning with automated roller washing and drying. | You want an all-purpose vacuum with rotating scrub pads and self-emptying. |
| What is not established | No reviewed source proves a universal stain-cleaning advantage over pads. | No reviewed source proves a universal advantage over a refreshed roller. |
Check whether your home is a good fit before ordering
- List every floor surface. Mark sealed wood, tile, vinyl, stone, laminate, rugs and carpet. Note rooms where water is undesirable.
- Measure transitions. Record the height and shape of thresholds and the thickness of rug edges. Compare those measurements with the manufacturer’s clearance specification for the exact variant.
- Measure low furniture. Measure the lowest point, not the advertised sofa-leg height, and leave enough room for the robot to turn or reverse.
- Map the dock location. Allow approach space, tank and bag access, a nearby outlet and a floor surface that can tolerate occasional moisture.
- Identify hazards. Cables, socks, pet toys, fringed rugs and spilled water can defeat even capable obstacle systems. Decide what you will routinely pick up.
- Estimate cleaning frequency. Daily dust runs, weekly mopping and pet-hair collection create different battery, brush and tank demands.
Setup steps for reliable hard-floor cleaning
- Prepare the dock area. Install the dock on a level surface with the clearance specified in the manual. Keep the clean- and dirty-water access clear.
- Charge before mapping. Start with the robot fully charged so the first map is not interrupted by a low battery.
- Run an initial vacuum-only map. Remove cables and loose objects, open doors you want included and let the robot learn the layout before adding wet cleaning.
- Name rooms and mark zones. Label hard-floor rooms, carpeted areas, no-go zones and no-mop zones in the app. Check the map for rooms that were merged or split incorrectly.
- Set floor-specific routines. Use vacuum-only schedules for rugs and carpet, then schedule mopping only in rooms with suitable sealed surfaces. Select higher suction for grit or pet hair only when the extra noise and battery use are acceptable.
- Test a small area. Run the mop on an inconspicuous section and inspect moisture, streaking and transition behavior before scheduling the whole home.
- Observe the first full run. Watch how the robot approaches thresholds, handles cables, returns to the dock and resumes after charging. Correct the map or zones immediately instead of allowing repeated failed runs.
Maintenance that prevents hard-floor performance from declining
After each wet-cleaning cycle
- Empty or inspect the dirty-water container if the dock does not do this automatically.
- Check that the clean-water tank has enough water and that the manufacturer-approved solution is mixed as directed.
- Confirm the roller or pads actually washed and dried; a damp, sour-smelling component needs attention before the next run.
- Remove hair, threads and grit from the roller ends and brush bearings.
Weekly checks
- Wipe sensors, charging contacts and the dock’s drainage or wash area with a dry or slightly damp cloth as the manual permits.
- Inspect the main brush, side brush and wheels for wrapped hair and stones that could scratch floors.
- Look for streaks, missed edges or new navigation failures; these often indicate a dirty sensor, blocked channel or worn consumable rather than a software setting.
Periodic replacement
Replace filters, brushes, mop elements, bags and seals at the interval specified for your exact model and usage. Heavy pet hair, construction dust and frequent mopping shorten service life. For supported Roborock models, the manufacturer lists compatible replacement main brushes and floor-cleaning solution, but compatibility must be checked by model number.

The robot leaves grit along edges
Run an edge-focused pass if the app offers one, clear the side brush and inspect for hair wrapped around its hub. Check whether furniture or a threshold prevents the robot from getting close enough. A higher suction setting cannot compensate for an inaccessible edge.

Wet streaks or a dirty smell appear
Stop the mop routine, inspect the dirty-water path and wash the roller or pads. Empty stagnant water, clean the dock’s wash area and allow components to dry. Reduce solution concentration if the manual warns against excess detergent, and test a small section of floor before restarting.

Pause mopping, create a no-mop zone or remove the rug, and verify the robot’s lifting or retraction behavior. Do not rely on a generic “carpet detection” label without confirming the exact model’s settings and the rug’s pile height.
The robot cannot cross a doorway
Measure the threshold again, remove a loose transition strip and check that the robot is approaching squarely. If the height exceeds the model’s published capability, use a low-profile ramp or keep the rooms in separate maps; do not force the robot over the obstacle.
The robot runs out of battery before finishing
Lower suction or reduce duplicate passes, empty the brush and filter, and enable recharge-and-resume if available. Strong settings can shorten runtime, as reported for the J20, and thick rugs or clutter increase navigation work.
The dock cannot empty or wash correctly
Move it to a level position, clear the robot’s approach path, check tank seating and inspect for a blocked air or water channel. A large all-in-one dock needs service access; installing it tightly between cabinets can make routine maintenance impossible.
Budget and availability decisions
The supplied comparisons do not establish a durable US street price for these models, and listings can change by retailer, bundle and promotion. Treat any price seen on an older guide as historical until you verify the live listing. Compare the complete ownership package rather than the robot alone:
- Robot and dock purchase price.
- Disposable bags, if used by the station.
- Filters, brushes, rollers or pads and replacement seals.
- Approved floor-cleaning solution for wet systems.
- Floor space and electrical access for the dock.
- Your time to clear obstacles, refill tanks and clean components.
A cheaper robot that requires manual mop washing every run may cost more in time than a larger dock you can service easily. Conversely, paying for a complex station is hard to justify if you only vacuum a small, mostly uncluttered apartment.
A decision checklist
- Mostly sealed hard floors, frequent wet cleaning, room for a large dock: start with the Eureka J20.
- Mixed floors and one general-purpose robot: start with the Roborock Qrevo Curv, then verify rug handling and threshold clearance.
- Obstacle-heavy home: compare current RTINGS navigation findings for the Saros 10R, MOVA P50 Pro Ultra, DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI and other current models rather than relying on an old list.
- Pet hair and mixed surfaces: examine roller design, brush access, carpet behavior and the eufy Omni E25’s manufacturer-described features, while seeking independent confirmation.
- Small home or limited storage: measure the dock first; a robot that cannot be parked and serviced comfortably will not deliver hands-off cleaning.
- Water-sensitive wood or delicate rugs: favor precise no-mop controls and test a small area before scheduling wet cleaning.
What to verify immediately before buying
Confirm the exact model suffix, US availability, current price, dock dimensions, threshold specification, mop-lift or removal behavior, app support, warranty terms and replacement-part compatibility. RTINGS’ August 7, 2026 update demonstrates that recommendations can change, while manufacturer pages may list variant-specific features or inconsistent specifications. One example is Roborock’s Qrevo Edge S5A page, which shows both 17,000 Pa and 18,500 Pa claims in different sections; do not use either figure for that model until the manufacturer confirms the correct variant and specification.
