There is no single best robot companion among Mirumi, Moflin, Loona, Ropet KAMOMO and Eilik: they are designed for different places and styles of interaction. Choose Mirumi for a bag-attached wearable, Moflin or Ropet for a plush pet-like companion, Loona for a mobile home robot with a camera and Wi-Fi features, or Eilik for a small desk companion.
The features, battery figures and prices below come from manufacturers or sellers, not independent hands-on testing. In particular, prices, stock, warranties and even Mirumi’s power details depend on the market and listing.

Compare the five robot companions
| Robot | Best fit | Published features and runtime | Purchase and qualification notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mirumi | A wearable companion attached to a bag | Yukai Engineering describes a Tokyo-designed device that responds to sound and touch. No runtime figure is established consistently across the cited listings. | Listings differ on price and power: a Yukai-linked page displayed a $149 pre-order, a pilot storefront showed $39.99 and three AAA batteries, and a UK-oriented storefront described USB-C charging and around eight hours. These are listing- and configuration-specific, not interchangeable specifications. |
| CASIO Moflin | A plush, largely stationary companion for touch-based interaction | CASIO lists touch, microphone, illuminance, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors. Its stated typical daily use is about five hours at 25°C, with about 3.5 hours to recharge. Its MofLife app includes emotion information, an interaction journal, naming, volume, battery level and software updates. | CASIO says the box includes a Moflin bed and AC adapter, and that it sells Moflin on its official e-commerce site and Amazon. The runtime and charging figures are manufacturer claims under stated conditions. |
| Loona Petbot | A mobile home robot with camera, voice and AI features | The official Japanese product page describes more than 1,000 expressions, ChatGPT mode, Blockly programming, remote home viewing and two-way voice. It lists maximum continuous operation of about 90 minutes and about 2.5 hours to recharge. | The Japanese page says Wi-Fi is required for voice recognition, AI features and updates; it lists a one-year warranty and recommends use from around age six. Confirm local model, warranty and store terms. |
| Ropet KAMOMO | A plush AI-pet format with optional styling and charging accessories | The Korean shop lists KAMOMO, a charging base, hair, masks and a keyring product. A separate international listing offers Basic and Pro bundles and describes shipping, returns and warranty terms. | The international seller’s authorization for a given market is not established. The Korean shop’s price, if viewed, should not be treated as a global price. |
| Eilik | A compact desktop companion | The product page lists dimensions of 108 × 105 × 133 mm, weight of 230 g, a 450 mAh battery, about 1.5 hours of use, USB-C and a one-hour full charge. It describes touch- and movement-responsive expressions and dancing to music. | The page presents itself as an official storefront; verify authorization, current regional price and stock. Runtime is a listed specification, not an independent test result. |
The runtime figures are not directly comparable: the products and stated conditions differ, and no standardized battery comparison is available. Mirumi’s cited storefronts also disagree on power configuration, so check the exact listing before buying.

Which robot suits your setting?
For a bag or commute: Mirumi
Mirumi is the only one in this group designed to attach to a bag. Yukai Engineering presents it as reacting to touch and sound, making it a better fit for a small wearable presence than for roaming a room or acting as a plush you hold. Check which seller and configuration you are considering: the cited listings vary on both price and power.

For a plush, quieter companion: CASIO Moflin
Moflin is the stationary, plush option. Its listed sensors and MofLife app features support touch interaction and companion-style routines, rather than household navigation. CASIO explicitly clarifies that Moflin does not have actual human emotions: “Moflin does not possess actual emotions like humans do. Their emotional expressions are simulated by AI.”
For movement and home viewing: Loona
Loona is the mobile choice, with a camera and features including remote home viewing, voice interaction and programming described on its official Japanese page. Those functions make Wi-Fi dependence and camera access central buying considerations, not minor extras. The page’s runtime and warranty details are Japanese-market claims; check the terms for the model and region you would buy.

Check before choosing
- Where it will live: Mirumi attaches to a bag; Moflin and Ropet use a plush-pet format; Loona moves around the home; Eilik sits on a desk.
- Camera and connectivity: Loona’s Japanese FAQ says Wi-Fi is required for voice recognition, AI features and updates, and its product page describes remote home viewing. The cited Moflin and Eilik pages do not describe a camera; that absence is not a guarantee about privacy or every product behavior.
- Interaction expectations: Touch reactions, animations or AI-described behavior do not establish humanlike consciousness. For Moflin specifically, CASIO says its emotional expressions are simulated.
- Runtime and charging: Treat each figure as the maker’s or seller’s specification for that product, not as a result from a shared test. Confirm what the listing means by typical use or maximum continuous operation.
- Price, seller and region: Record the currency, country, product bundle and retailer for any price you compare. Confirm current stock, seller authorization, fulfillment and return terms on the listing you will actually use.
- Warranty and age guidance: Loona’s Japanese page lists a one-year warranty and an age guideline of around six; check the applicable local terms rather than assuming they apply everywhere.
Conditional recommendations
Choose Mirumi if the defining feature you want is a companion that attaches to a bag; choose Moflin if you want a stationary plush companion with manufacturer-described simulated emotional expressions; choose Loona if you specifically want a mobile robot with camera, Wi-Fi-dependent voice and AI features; consider Ropet if the plush format and accessories appeal and you can verify the seller; and choose Eilik for a compact desk companion. These are use-case matches based on published descriptions, not a tested overall ranking.
