If you want another taste of Star Wars podracing, start with STAR WARS Episode I: Racer. If the appeal is less about the franchise and more about high-speed arcade action, try Burnout Paradise Remastered; for futuristic anti-gravity craft and customization, choose Redout 2. They match different parts of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, rather than reproducing the same game.
Galactic Racer was announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a worldwide release date of October 6, 2026. That date has passed; check your regional platform store for current availability. Lucasfilm Games executive producer Craig Derrick described its intended feel as “cinematic, skill-driven, and unmistakably Star Wars.” (Lucasfilm Games announcement)

Which part of Galactic Racer do you want more of?
| Game | Best fit | Setting and vehicle | What makes it a match |
|---|---|---|---|
| STAR WARS Episode I: Racer | Star Wars and podracing | Star Wars; podracers | The direct franchise connection and podracing fantasy. |
| Burnout Paradise Remastered | Arcade speed, stunts, and crashes | Open-world driving; road cars | High-energy racing built around stunts and destruction. |
| Redout 2 | Futuristic craft and tuning | Anti-gravity hoverships | Fast arcade racing with vehicle customization. |
These are different kinds of recommendation, not a quality ranking: the official descriptions support comparisons by setting, vehicle type, racing feel, and customization, but not a definitive best-to-worst verdict.

This is the clearest choice if you want to stay in the Star Wars universe. StarWars.com describes the game as based on the podracing sequence in The Phantom Menace, with players controlling podracers. Its article covers Nintendo Switch and PS4 releases; the publisher, Aspyr, also maintains a game page, and Steam has a store listing. (StarWars.com; Aspyr; Steam)
#1 Best Overall

- Connect and compete. Join an international community of drivers to share race strategies, tuning tips, livery designs and photos, before taking to the track to go head-to-head.
Choose it for the vehicles and franchise connection, not because it is established as a match for Galactic Racer’s runs-based adventure or modes. The cited pages do not establish that those formats are alike. Store availability and editions can vary by region, so confirm what your platform offers before buying.
For arcade speed, stunts, and crashes: Burnout Paradise Remastered
Burnout Paradise Remastered is the pick if you want aggressive arcade racing rather than a space setting. EA describes the series as arcade-fueled racing built around stunts and crashes, and the remaster’s page highlights high-octane stunts and destruction. (EA)

Its open-world driving makes it a different structural experience from the runs-based adventure announced for Galactic Racer. Think of it as a match for speed and spectacle, not for Star Wars vehicles or the same progression format.
For anti-gravity racing and customization: Redout 2
Pick Redout 2 if futuristic craft and tuning matter more to you than a familiar franchise. Its official page describes it as a tribute to classic arcade racing and highlights anti-gravity hoverships and customization. (Redout 2)
