If you like F1 25 but want a different kind of racing, start with Gran Turismo 7 for road cars, circuit events, collecting and tuning. Choose EA Sports WRC for point-to-point rally stages across dirt, snow and asphalt. If you would rather roam a large map between events, consider an open-world racer such as Forza Horizon 5—but check that the edition you want is currently available for PS5 in your region.
These games suit different tastes; there is no single objective winner across circuit racing, rally and open-world driving.

Gran Turismo 7: the broadest circuit-racing alternative
For an F1 25 player who wants to try more cars and types of circuit competition, Gran Turismo 7 is the most direct next step. Its official product page describes a game built around collecting and tuning cars, racing events, missions and a licence center, with online play and local split-screen also available. It lists over 550 cars from more than 70 automotive brands, plus tracks from 41 locations in 121 layouts. Those are the publisher’s current figures; the page does not specify when those counts were last updated.

What changed in the latest major update
Gran Turismo’s official page says Spec III arrived on 4 December 2025. The update added eight cars, two circuits, a Data Logger, enhanced Weekly Challenges and Café Menus.
What to know before buying
The US PlayStation Store lists Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 and PS4, with a release date of March 4, 2022. Its online features require a PlayStation account, and its VR features require PlayStation VR2. The official product page says that offline, only Arcade Mode is available; do not buy it expecting the full game progression to work offline. Check your local PlayStation Store for current price, edition contents and availability.

EA Sports WRC: the pick for rally stages
If the appeal of F1 25 is the focus and intensity of competition, but you want races that unfold on narrow point-to-point roads rather than circuits, EA Sports WRC is the rally-focused option. PlayStation describes it as an official FIA World Rally Championship game, with WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC cars from the 2023 season. Its stages cover dirt, snow and asphalt, and its features include Builder and Moments modes.

The season qualification matters: PlayStation’s description identifies the cars as from 2023, so it should not be read as a promise that the roster reflects a later championship season. This is a different discipline from circuit racing, so choose it for rally stages and varied surfaces rather than as a like-for-like F1 career substitute. Check the current local store listing for the edition and platform details before purchasing.

Want to explore between races? Look at open-world racing
If you prefer a large area to roam and flexible activities instead of a mainly circuit-based progression or point-to-point rally stages, open-world racing is a third style to consider. PlayStation’s racing-games guide places Forza Horizon 5 in this category. The cited guide does not establish current PS5 edition or availability details, so confirm the exact platform and edition in your local store before buying.
