If you want the risk, loot and escape tension of an extraction game without being repeatedly killed by human opponents, start with Escape From Duckov for solo play and Deep Rock Galactic for co-op. Duckov is the closest match to a traditional PvE extraction loop: you enter a raid, search for supplies, improve a persistent hideout and extract before losing the run’s haul. Deep Rock Galactic removes PvP from its core loop and turns extraction into a co-operative race to complete objectives, gather resources and survive the trip home. The Forever Winter may also appeal to co-op players, but its current official details need verification. Level Zero: Extraction is explicitly PvPvE, while GROUND BRANCH includes PvP and is not an extraction game, so neither is a clean answer to a low-PvP request.
Which PvE extraction game should you choose?
The best choice depends on what you mean by “extraction.” If you want a literal raid structure with an inventory, persistent upgrades and a meaningful chance of losing what you carried in, choose Escape From Duckov. It is a single-player PvE survival RPG built around scavenging, completing quests, improving a hideout and getting out safely.

If you mainly want to play with friends and are happy with an extraction-style objective rather than a PvP stash economy, choose Deep Rock Galactic. Its one-to-four-player missions use procedural caves, class roles, mining objectives and an extraction phase against alien hordes. Human opponents are not part of the core loop.

Escape From Duckov: the clearest strict-PvE extraction choice
What the loop involves
Escape From Duckov is developed by Team Soda and published by bilibili. It released on October 16, 2025, and Steam lists it as a single-player game described as a “PVE indie survival RPG.” You enter a map, search for useful items, fight hostile creatures, complete tasks and decide when to leave. Extracting protects the value of what you found; failing the run puts the raid haul at risk.
That structure makes Duckov the closest fit for someone who likes the decisions of an extraction shooter but does not want a stranger deciding whether the run ends. Your pressure comes from the environment, enemy encounters, limited carrying capacity, changing loot and weather, and the temptation to stay for one more valuable item. There is no need to monitor a human kill feed or assume every sound is another player setting an ambush.
Persistent progression
The run is connected to a longer campaign rather than being an isolated match. Resources feed into hideout construction and upgrades; equipment becomes stronger; blueprints unlock additional crafting possibilities; skill trees shape the character; and quests provide direction when free-form scavenging is not enough. This gives each successful extraction a purpose beyond simply increasing a bank balance.

The Steam listing advertises five unique maps, more than 50 weapons and “50+ hours of content for a single playthrough.” Those are the developer’s store-page figures, not a guaranteed completion time for every player. Loot and weather can change, so returning to a familiar map is not necessarily the same run repeated with a different enemy patrol.
Why the setting matters
Duckov uses a top-down presentation and a deliberately cartoon duck setting instead of a realistic military tone. That changes the emotional texture without removing the extraction decisions: you still weigh inventory space, route safety and the value of staying longer, but the presentation is less grim and less overtly militaristic than many Tarkov-inspired games.

Who should play it
- Solo players: Steam lists single-player support, so you do not need a regular squad or matchmaking pool.
- Players who want literal extraction: The raid ends with an explicit extraction decision, and the haul is at risk if the run fails.
- Players who enjoy management: Hideout construction, gear upgrades, blueprints and skill trees turn scavenging into a persistent campaign.
- Players who prefer a lighter tone: The cartoon setting makes the game less intimidating than realistic tactical shooters.
Limitations to understand first
Duckov is a digital PC game in the cited store information. No physical edition was established, and the available facts do not establish console support, pricing or review totals. Those details can change by region and date, so check the current store listing before purchase.
It is also important not to confuse “PvE” with “easy.” Hostile enemies, time pressure and the possibility of losing a haul still create meaningful risk. Removing human opponents changes the source of uncertainty; it does not remove the need to plan a route, manage supplies or recognize when to leave.

What the missions involve
Deep Rock Galactic is a one-to-four-player co-op FPS from Ghost Ship Games and Coffee Stain Publishing, released on May 13, 2020. Steam describes dwarven miners entering procedurally generated, fully destructible caves, mining minerals, completing objectives, extracting valuable resources and surviving endless alien hordes.
The game’s extraction feeling comes from getting the team back out after the objective is complete. You are not normally protecting a Tarkov-style personal stash of raid gear; instead, the squad is trying to finish the assignment, gather the available resources and reach the escape route before the enemies overwhelm it. That distinction is the central trade-off between Deep Rock Galactic and Duckov.
Class roles and replayability
Four classes give a squad different tools and responsibilities. The caves are procedurally generated and destructible, so traversal is part of the problem: a team may have to carve a route, create firing positions, cross a gap or retreat through terrain it altered earlier in the mission. The store listing names 11 biomes and more than 50 enemy types, giving missions different environmental hazards and combat patterns.

- [Easy Disassemble] Making incidental repairs quick and easy! Very nice, flexible cable
- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
Because the cave layout changes, memorizing one optimal route is less useful than learning how the classes complement one another. One player may open a path, another may provide mobility or illumination, while the rest manage objectives and hold back waves. The resulting tension is co-operative rather than adversarial: communication and positioning matter, but another human team is not waiting to take your minerals.
Ongoing content
Steam states that six seasons of additional content are free. That supports a long-running co-op experience without turning the recommendation into a claim about a particular current season or event. Seasonal content, platform features and availability can change, so confirm the current listing if a specific update matters to you.
Who should choose it
- Small groups: The official player range is one to four, making it suitable for a solo session or a complete squad.
- Players who value teamwork: Class tools, cave traversal and enemy control reward communication more than individual aim alone.
- Players who want replayable missions: Procedural caves and multiple biomes keep the route and environmental problem from being fixed.
- Players who prefer action: More than 50 enemy types and large alien hordes make combat a major part of the experience.
What it does not provide
Deep Rock Galactic is extraction-style rather than a strict raid-and-lose-everything shooter. If your favorite part of extraction games is sorting a persistent stash, deciding which firearm to risk and losing that exact loadout on death, Duckov is the closer match. If your favorite part is entering a dangerous space, completing a job, collecting resources and surviving the return trip with friends, Deep Rock Galactic is the stronger choice.
The Forever Winter: a promising but unverified option
Secondary reporting describes The Forever Winter as a co-op survival PvE extraction shooter set in a bleak war zone dominated by mechs. That premise could suit players who want squad-based extraction without routine PvP. However, the official store page was inaccessible for the available information, so several purchase-critical facts remain unresolved.
- Current release status was not established.
- Solo support was not established.
- Current pricing was not established.
- The exact extraction rules and failure costs were not established.
Treat it as a game to investigate rather than a confirmed recommendation. Check the developer’s current store page, supported platforms, recent update notes and player reports before spending money. Do not assume that a description calling it PvE guarantees that every mode, map or future update excludes PvP.

Games that look suitable but do not meet a low-PvP requirement
Level Zero: Extraction
Level Zero: Extraction should not be presented as a low-PvP game. Its official Steam description calls it asymmetrical PvPvE multiplayer, with rival mercenaries fighting alongside or against alien monsters. The listing includes online PvP and co-op. That makes it a legitimate horror extraction option for players who want human-versus-human tension, but it conflicts with the goal of avoiding repeated player kills.
The distinction is practical: choosing a PvPvE game means accepting that another player can be the main cause of a failed run. Enemy AI may create additional pressure, but it does not replace the human threat. If you are specifically trying to reduce ambushes, gear loss to rival squads or matchmaking frustration, Level Zero belongs on the “avoid for this purpose” side of the list.
GROUND BRANCH
GROUND BRANCH is a broader tactical alternative, not a direct extraction recommendation. Steam lists single-player, online co-op and online PvP. Its deliberate tactical shooting may appeal if what you really want is slower movement, careful positioning and squad tactics, but the official description does not establish a raid-and-extract progression loop.
Choose it when your priority is tactical combat rather than persistent extraction loot. If you want both strict PvE and a documented extraction structure, Duckov is the evidence-backed fit; if you want co-op missions with an extraction-style return, Deep Rock Galactic is the safer match.

How to decide between Duckov and Deep Rock Galactic
Choose Escape From Duckov when these statements sound right
- You will usually play alone and do not want matchmaking or squad scheduling.
- You want to decide how much loot to carry, when to leave and which risk is worth taking.
- You want a hideout, blueprints, quests and skill trees to connect individual raids into a campaign.
- You specifically want the possibility that a failed extraction costs the haul from that run.
- You prefer a top-down, cartoon setting to a realistic military presentation.
Choose Deep Rock Galactic when these statements sound right
- You have one to three friends and want class-based co-op.
- You enjoy mining, objective work and navigating changing cave layouts.
- You want enemy hordes and environmental traversal to be the main sources of pressure.
- You prefer a successful mission-and-return structure to a stash economy where a failed raid can erase carried gear.
- You want a mature co-op game with 11 biomes, more than 50 enemy types and six seasons of free additional content listed by Steam.
Choose neither if your priority is competitive extraction PvP
If the excitement you want comes from outplaying rival squads, listening for human footsteps and stealing another player’s haul, a strict PvE game will feel different rather than simply safer. Duckov and Deep Rock Galactic replace that mind game with AI behavior, route planning, enemy waves and objective pressure. That is their advantage for a low-PvP audience, but it is also the reason they may not satisfy someone seeking competitive raids.
Best Value
What “less PvP” changes in an extraction game
Risk shifts from opponents to systems
In a PvP extraction shooter, uncertainty comes partly from unknown human decisions: a squad can camp an exit, change direction without warning or attack while you are carrying a valuable item. In Duckov, the cited pressure comes from hostile ducks, time, changing loot and weather, and the risk attached to the current run. In Deep Rock Galactic, the pressure comes from alien hordes, cave geometry, mission objectives and the escape itself.
The result is more learnable. You can improve by understanding enemy patterns, class tools, map generation and resource priorities rather than by winning a gunfight against a better-equipped stranger. That does not make failure meaningless; it makes the causes of failure easier to analyze and practice against.
Failure costs are not interchangeable
Duckov explicitly ties extraction to protecting the haul from a run, so inventory decisions matter. Deep Rock Galactic emphasizes completing the mission and getting the crew home, not losing a personal raid loadout. Before choosing, identify which failure feels motivating to you: losing a tempting pile of scavenged items, or abandoning a team objective after surviving a long cave fight.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Solo and co-op create different kinds of calm
Solo PvE removes social coordination and matchmaking uncertainty, but every decision belongs to one player. Co-op PvE removes hostile squads while adding communication, role assignment and the possibility that a teammate’s mistake changes the outcome. Duckov offers the quieter, self-paced version; Deep Rock Galactic offers the shared problem-solving version.
Practical checks before you buy
- Confirm the current platform listing: Duckov’s cited information establishes a digital PC game, while platform details for the other candidates can change.
- Check the current price and regional availability: Prices, editions and store access are volatile and were not established in the available facts.
- Read the mode description carefully: “PvE” can coexist with optional or separate PvP modes. Level Zero demonstrates why the exact wording matters.
- Verify whether extraction is literal: Duckov has a raid-and-extract loop; Deep Rock Galactic uses an extraction-style return after objectives.
- Confirm solo support if you play alone: Duckov is listed as single-player; The Forever Winter’s solo support was unresolved.
- Check current updates: Live-service content, seasons and supported platforms can change after a store page is written.
Bottom line for a low-PvP player
Escape From Duckov is the most direct answer: a single-player PvE survival RPG with five maps, more than 50 weapons, hideout progression, quests, skill trees and a genuine decision to extract before the run’s haul is lost. Deep Rock Galactic is the best co-op answer: one to four players, four classes, procedurally generated destructible caves, 11 biomes and more than 50 enemy types, with the team’s challenge focused on completing objectives and surviving the return. Keep The Forever Winter on a watch list until its current official details are confirmed, and do not treat Level Zero: Extraction or GROUND BRANCH as low-PvP extraction recommendations.
