For an easy modern-console starting point, choose Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha or Bravo on Nintendo Switch: each bundles six games, and the right pick depends on the lineup you want. For PC, check the exact game and publisher in your regional Steam store before buying; older listings and later listings may not be the same product.
Which Psikyo games are on Switch?
Nintendo’s US store lists both Psikyo Shooting Stars collections as digital Nintendo Switch editions. Each supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play, with one or two players on one system. Nintendo also says each behaves consistently on Switch 2. Those details describe the US store listings; check your own region’s store for local availability.

What’s in Alpha and Bravo, and which should you play first?
Start with the collection containing the game or series that most interests you. Alpha is the straightforward choice if you want to begin with Strikers 1945 and its sequels. Bravo is the choice if Gunbird or Samurai Aces is your priority. If you are new to Psikyo and have no series preference, either offers a six-game cross-section; the available product listings establish contents and features, not that one collection is objectively better or a superior port.
The included titles also mean the collections are not interchangeable: buying one does not give you the other’s six-game lineup. If your decision is between playing on a television or in portable mode, both Switch listings specify TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. For local play, each lists a maximum of two players on a single system.
Which Psikyo shoot-’em-up should you play first?
Try Strikers 1945 for a vertical-scrolling starting point
City Connection’s 2020 announcement describes Strikers 1945 as a vertical-scrolling shooter that first appeared in arcades in 1995. For the Steam version announced then, the release described six playable aircraft with different characteristics, seven selectable Arcade-mode difficulty levels, screen-orientation options, continues, configurable controls, score attack, and online rankings. These are details of that announced game version, not a statement about every platform edition or its current store status. Read the City Connection/Psikyo announcement.

Choose by the games you want, not an unverified ranking
The official listings make it possible to compare the collections by series and platform, but they do not establish a definitive quality ranking across Psikyo’s games. If you already know a title you want, look for that exact game on your preferred platform. If you do not, Alpha and Bravo provide clear console entry points based on their published lineups.

The official Psikyo Portal catalogs games for Switch and PS4 and links to Steam listings for a broader set. A catalog entry or link is not proof that a game is currently for sale in every country. Steam availability can also depend on the exact product version.
That distinction matters for Strikers 1945. City Connection’s April 2020 announcement covers an earlier Steam version. A separate Steam product listing surfaced with a 2025 date, while a secondary report published in October 2025 said 12 earlier Psikyo titles had been removed from sale following a license expiry. These references do not establish that the older and later listings are one continuous product, or that the older version remains available. Are Psikyo collections available physically?
The cited Nintendo US listings identify Alpha and Bravo as digital Switch editions, not boxed copies. The official Psikyo Portal also lists package editions of Psikyo Shooting Library Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 for PS4, with 2022 release dates, as well as earlier Switch package editions. These are Japanese-market listings; before buying a used or imported copy, confirm its region, language, exact contents, and platform compatibility with the seller.
The portal is the place to check the catalog’s listed platform versions: official Psikyo Portal. Its catalog is not a guarantee that a particular edition is currently stocked by a retailer or available in your country.
