There is no officially confirmed “best” racing wheel for Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 yet. The Logitech G923 PlayStation version is the clearest PS5-compatible candidate in the currently available product information, but neither the game announcement nor the PlayStation Store listing confirms that it will work with Forza Horizon 6 on PS5.
Forza Horizon 6 launches on PS5 on January 26, 2027. Premium Edition owners receive early access from January 21, 2027. If you are buying a wheel specifically for this game, treat the G923 as a candidate rather than a guaranteed purchase until official FH6 peripheral support is published.

What you can safely buy today
The most defensible PS5 wheel choice identified so far is the PlayStation version of Logitech’s G923 wheel and pedal set. Logitech lists a dedicated PlayStation/PS5 variant, and PlayStation Direct lists that version for PS5. Logitech describes the system as a 2.3 Nm TRUEFORCE racing wheel with aluminum paddle shifters, a leather-covered wheel and a pressure-sensitive brake.
Those are manufacturer and retailer specifications. They establish that the hardware is designed for PS5; they do not establish that Forza Horizon 6 will recognize it or expose force feedback on Sony’s console. Logitech’s published compatibility material names Forza Horizon 5, but Forza Horizon 6 is not listed in the material reviewed.

Why PS5 compatibility does not prove Forza Horizon 6 compatibility
A wheel can be electrically and operationally compatible with a PS5 while still being unsupported by a particular game. The console must recognize the peripheral, and the game must include the appropriate wheel and force-feedback integration. Both conditions matter.
PlayStation Direct makes that distinction explicit. Its G923 listing says the system requires games that support Logitech force-feedback racing wheels and that TRUEFORCE and advanced features require game integration. In other words, a PS5 label on the box is not a promise that every racing game will use the wheel’s force-feedback functions.
The official Forza Horizon 6 announcement and the PlayStation Store listing reviewed for this guide do not publish a list of supported racing-wheel models or force-feedback features. Until an official game-support statement or a launch update names the G923, compatibility remains unconfirmed.

The table is deliberately narrow: it separates facts about the product from the unresolved question that matters most to a prospective FH6 buyer. The G923 is a credible PS5 candidate, not a confirmed FH6 recommendation.

What Forza Horizon 6’s published specifications do—and do not—tell you
The PlayStation Store describes Forza Horizon 6 as including more than 550 real-world cars and steering animations with up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation. Those figures describe the game’s content and steering presentation. They do not identify compatible wheel models or prove that force feedback will function on PS5.
The PS5 edition was developed by Panic Button in close collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Playground Games also says PS5 players will have cross-platform play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions. Those features may make the PS5 release attractive to existing players, but they do not answer the peripheral-support question.
A game showing a 540-degree steering range is therefore not the same as a hardware specification. Your wheel still needs game-side support for input mapping, rotation behavior and force-feedback commands. The game’s large car roster likewise does not imply that every car supports every type of peripheral feature.

Buy the G923 now only if you have another supported use
Buying before January 2027 is easier to justify if you already want the G923 for other PS5 or PlayStation-compatible racing games. Its PS5 listing, 2.3 Nm TRUEFORCE description and pedal set give you a known hardware package. You should still retain the receipt and confirm the seller’s return terms, because FH6-specific support has not been announced in the material reviewed.

Wait if Forza Horizon 6 is the only reason you want a wheel
If FH6 is your sole use case, waiting for an official compatibility list, a developer statement or launch-day testing is the lower-risk choice. A PS5-compatible product can remain unusable in one title until that title receives the required integration. The unresolved issue is not whether the G923 exists; it is whether FH6 on PS5 will support it.
Do not treat a cheaper or more elaborate wheel as safer without evidence
The available sources do not establish a confirmed set of multiple FH6-compatible PS5 wheels, comparative performance results or value rankings. More expensive hardware is not automatically supported, and a wheel advertised for PS5 is not automatically supported by this game. Until FH6 names specific models or a supported standard, price and feature counts cannot substitute for a compatibility statement.
What to verify near the January 2027 release
Support information can change between a product page viewed in 2026 and the game’s launch. Use this sequence when the PS5 release is close:
- Check the official Forza Horizon 6 PS5 announcement and support pages. Look for an explicit racing-wheel or force-feedback list, not merely a statement that the game is a racing title.
- Check the PlayStation Store listing and the game’s launch notes. A wheel-specific note should identify whether support applies to PS5, which models are recognized and whether force feedback is included.
- Check Logitech’s compatibility information again. The important change would be an entry for Forza Horizon 6, not just the existing Forza Horizon 5 entry.
- Confirm the platform variant on the product page. Choose the PlayStation version listed for PS5. Do not assume that a wheel variant intended for another console family will behave identically.
- Look for separate statements about force feedback and advanced features. Basic steering input and full TRUEFORCE behavior are different levels of support. The retailer’s wording requires a game that supports Logitech force-feedback wheels.
- Check the date of every statement. A pre-launch product page can describe the wheel without covering FH6, while a later game update may add support. Prefer information dated at or after the PS5 launch.
What “supported” should mean in practice
For a purchase decision, a useful support statement should answer four separate questions:

- Detection: Does the PS5 version of FH6 recognize the wheel as an input device?
- Control mapping: Can you assign steering, pedals, paddles and other controls inside the game?
- Rotation behavior: Does the game apply its steering range correctly, including the published maximum of 540 degrees where appropriate?
- Force feedback: Does the game send feedback commands, and are Logitech’s TRUEFORCE features integrated rather than merely powered on?
A listing that answers only the first question is not equivalent to full support. This distinction is especially important for the G923 because its headline feature is a force-feedback system whose advanced behavior depends on game integration.
Conditional setup guidance for the G923
Once official FH6 support is confirmed, use the wheel according to the current Logitech and PlayStation instructions for the PlayStation version. The exact in-game menu labels may change before release, so avoid relying on an old video or a setup guide for another platform.
- Identify the correct hardware. Verify that the packaging and product page identify the PlayStation/PS5 version and include the wheel and pedal set.
- Connect the complete set before starting FH6. Connect the wheel and pedals as directed by the manufacturer, then start the PS5 and the game.
- Open the game’s controller settings. Look for a wheel or racing-wheel profile rather than assuming the default gamepad layout will map every control correctly.
- Assign and test each control. Check steering, throttle, brake and paddle inputs individually. A wheel being visible to the console does not prove that every input is mapped in the game.
- Test feedback at a low, comfortable setting first. If the game exposes force-feedback controls, confirm that feedback is present before adjusting intensity. TRUEFORCE behavior requires game integration according to the PlayStation Direct listing.
- Drive a short test route before changing many settings. Confirm that steering direction, pedal travel and paddle assignments behave as expected, then adjust the available game settings one at a time.
This procedure avoids a common mistake: changing hardware or buying another wheel when the actual issue is an unsupported game profile or missing game-side integration.

The PS5 sees the wheel, but FH6 does not
First verify that the game is running a version that officially supports the wheel. Console detection alone cannot add game integration. Check the game’s current support notes and Logitech’s compatibility information before concluding that the hardware is defective.

Steering works, but there is no force feedback
Basic input and force feedback are separate capabilities. Recheck whether FH6 specifically supports Logitech force-feedback wheels on PS5. The G923’s TRUEFORCE features require compatible game integration, so a working steering axis does not prove that feedback should be present.
The game recognizes the wheel but controls are wrong
Open the in-game wheel profile and inspect each assignment. Confirm that the PlayStation version is selected where the game offers platform-specific profiles, then test steering and both pedals individually. Avoid copying settings from another game unless FH6’s own documentation recommends them.
You bought the wrong platform variant
Check the model and platform wording on the box and receipt. Logitech lists separate platform variants; a listing that does not identify the PlayStation version should not be treated as the PS5 model.
Support changes after launch
Keep the game and console software current, then recheck official release notes. A later update could add or alter wheel support, while a retailer listing may remain unchanged. Record the version and date when you test so you can distinguish a software change from a hardware problem.
Why this guide does not name several “best” wheels
Many buying guides rank several models even when no source confirms that the target game supports them. That approach would be misleading here. The currently available official material establishes one PS5-compatible candidate—the PlayStation G923—but does not provide a verified FH6 PS5 compatibility matrix or comparative tests across multiple wheels.
Leaving unsupported models out is more useful than creating a speculative shortlist. Once Forza Horizon 6 publishes a model list, the meaningful comparison should cover PS5 recognition, FH6 input support, force-feedback integration and the hardware specifications disclosed for each model. Until then, a longer list would imply certainty the evidence does not provide.
Launch-date buying checklist

- Candidate hardware: Logitech G923 PlayStation version with wheel and pedals.

Verdict: The PlayStation Logitech G923 is the leading PS5-compatible candidate identified for Forza Horizon 6, but it cannot honestly be called a confirmed FH6 wheel before official game support is published. If FH6 is your only reason to buy, wait for that confirmation; if you already need a PS5 wheel for supported games, the G923 is the clearest documented option to investigate.
