Apply the baseline, play several sections, and look for consistent symptoms rather than changing settings because of a single momentary hitch. A one-time pause while a level loads is different from repeated judder whenever the camera, particles, or a large group of objects appears.

These figures establish that the game was designed to run on very modest Windows hardware. They do not guarantee a particular frame rate on every machine, and they say nothing about a specific resolution, visual preset, or frame-time result. A system can meet the minimum and still stutter because of background activity, a power-saving mode, a driver problem, or an unrelated process.
SteamDB records the game as using Unity Engine and supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux. Its record, updated in 2026, says the default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck. That observation supports using the default configuration as a sensible modern baseline; it is not a universal FPS claim and should not be treated as one.

- Close unnecessary programs. Exit browsers with many tabs, video encoders, game overlays you do not need, and downloads that are actively using the disk or network. This creates a clean baseline without altering the game.
- Launch the game and open its video or graphics options. The authoritative listings do not document exact menu labels, so the wording and location can vary by build. Look for controls covering resolution, quality, effects, scaling, fullscreen or windowed mode, and frame rate.

When a lower resolution is justified
Lower resolution is reasonable on a machine close to the stated minimum, or when testing shows that the GPU is the limiting factor. Drop only one available step, preserve the sharpest scaling mode, and replay the same demanding section. If the picture becomes noticeably softer while frame pacing does not improve, restore native resolution and investigate background load, power mode, or drivers instead.

Highest preset versus one-step reductions
The highest preset is the correct starting point because the game’s published minimum is exceptionally modest. If a particular effect causes repeated hitches, reduce that effect or the overall preset by one step rather than moving immediately to the lowest setting. Frame-rate caps and uneven motion
A cap can prevent the system from rendering frames far beyond what the display can show, which may make frame delivery more consistent. Troubleshoot stutter without making the image worse
Work through the branch that matches what you see. The aim is to identify the limiting factor, not simply to make every setting as low as possible.
The whole game feels slow
- Confirm that the game is using the intended display and resolution rather than an unexpectedly high desktop mode.
- Connect a laptop to AC power and disable an aggressive battery-saving mode for the test.
