The closest official match is the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox. Announced by The Pokémon Company International on February 27, 2026, it is a Game Boy-inspired sound toy containing 45 cartridges, each with a melody or sound effect from the original games. It is best understood as a Pokémon collectible with built-in game sounds—not as a general-purpose player for your own music files.
If you want Pokémon music on equipment you already own, official CDs and vinyl are the more practical route. Pokémon Center Online Japan listed soundtrack collections, anime releases and a Pokémon Music Collective LP, although availability and regional shipping vary and several checked products were sold out.

Which Pokémon product actually plays music?
There are two different interpretations of “a physical music player” in Pokémon merchandise:
- A Pokémon-themed object that produces music without requiring a separate collection of discs or records.
- A physical Pokémon music release that you play on a conventional CD player or turntable.
The Game Boy Jukebox addresses the first use case. It is modeled after Nintendo’s original Game Boy and is described officially as a “sound toy.” Its cartridges contain selected melodies and sound effects from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. The official examples include “Title Screen,” “Professor Oak,” “Pewter City Theme,” “Rocket Hideout,” “Jigglypuff’s Song,” “Lavender Town Theme” and “Ending Theme.”

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That distinction matters before you buy. The official announcements do not establish support for arbitrary music files, Bluetooth, headphones, file transfer, rechargeable batteries, power specifications or detailed speaker specifications. Treat the Jukebox as a purpose-specific novelty device and collectible, not as a replacement for a portable music player.
Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox
What is included
The February 27, 2026 announcement says the Jukebox contains 45 cartridges. Each cartridge holds a melody or sound effect from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, allowing the owner to select sounds from the Kanto-era games through a physical, Game Boy-inspired format.
The cartridge concept is the product’s central appeal. You are not loading a playlist or transferring files; you are handling a themed set of miniature physical pieces tied to specific sounds. That makes the item particularly suitable for display, gifting and nostalgic listening sessions built around the first-generation games.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteFor a collector, the 45-piece set also changes how the item is used compared with a normal speaker. The physical cartridges are part of the interaction and should be treated as components of the product, not as interchangeable game software. Keep the complete set together, since a second-hand unit missing even a few cartridges is not equivalent to the complete package described by the manufacturer.
How to describe its listening experience accurately
Use terms such as “sound toy,” “novelty jukebox” or “collectible music device.” Those descriptions match the official wording and avoid promising features that have not been documented. The announcements do not provide a conventional audio-player specification sheet, so claims about volume, frequency response, battery life, charging, stereo output or recording would go beyond the available product information.
It is also safer to avoid calling it a soundtrack player in the same sense as a CD deck. The documented content is a curated selection of game melodies and effects, not an indication that every piece of music from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue is included. If a particular theme is essential to you, verify that it appears in the current package description rather than assuming the 45 cartridges represent a complete score.
Availability and the October 2026 restock
The Pokémon Company International published a restock notice on October 9, 2026, stating that the Jukebox was back in stock at Pokémon Center at that time. This is a dated inventory report, not a guarantee that stock remains available on the day you read this. Limited merchandise can sell through again, and the notice does not establish a permanent production schedule.

When checking a listing, confirm that it is the Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox rather than a Game Boy-shaped decoration, an unrelated Pokémon sound item or a used listing missing cartridges. A current product page should be treated as the authority for what is in the box and whether an order can actually be placed.

Physical Pokémon music for a CD player or turntable
CDs and records are the better choice if your priority is listening to longer-form Pokémon soundtracks on equipment you already own. They are conventional physical releases, so the important question is whether you have compatible playback hardware and whether the specific release is still available.
What the official Japan catalog lists
When accessed on October 13, 2026, the Pokémon Center Online Japan CD/DVD catalog displayed 23 items. Visible entries included music collections for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Pokémon Sword and Shield with its expansion pass, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The catalog also included Pokémon Music Collective on LP and Pokémon anime theme-song releases.
The count is a snapshot, not a fixed catalog size. Products can be added, removed or marked unavailable, so use the current listing rather than relying on the historical number. The catalog confirms that these releases exist; it does not confirm that every title is in stock, that every title is pressed in the same format or that a particular edition can be exported to your country.

The official Japan listing for the limited 7-inch “Mezase Pokémon Master / Hyakugojūichi” identifies the songs as the first Pokémon television anime opening and ending themes. It gives a release date of December 27, 2023, describes a colored record and included paper goods, and showed sold-out status when checked.
A 7-inch single is a collectible format with less playing time than a full soundtrack album. It makes sense for a fan who specifically wants those opening and ending themes, a colored record or the included paper goods; it is not the most efficient format for someone seeking an entire game soundtrack. Because it is a limited item, condition and completeness matter: ask whether the record, sleeve and paper goods shown on the official listing are all present in a resale package.
Jukebox, CD and vinyl: choose by use case
| Option | Music format | Additional equipment | Best fit | Availability evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Game Boy Jukebox | Selected Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue melodies and sound effects on included cartridges | No separate disc or record collection is required; the official pages do not state detailed power or audio specifications | A Pokémon display piece, gift or tactile sound toy | Reported back in stock at Pokémon Center on October 9, 2026; current stock is not guaranteed |
| Pokémon CDs | Album-length game or anime music releases, depending on the title | A compatible CD player | Listening to a soundtrack on standard physical media | Titles appeared in the Pokémon Center Online Japan catalog; individual stock varies |
| Pokémon vinyl | LP or 7-inch record releases, depending on the product | A compatible turntable and the associated audio setup | Collecting records, artwork and selected songs | Pokémon Music Collective LP was listed; the checked 7-inch “Mezase Pokémon Master / Hyakugojūichi” page was sold out |
None of these categories is universally “best.” The Jukebox is the most direct answer when the Pokémon object itself is the priority. A CD or record is the better answer when the music collection and compatibility with existing audio equipment matter more than the novelty hardware.
Costs, value and what can actually be compared
No universal retail price, resale average or performance comparison is established for these products. The value question is therefore practical rather than numerical. With the Jukebox, you are paying for a branded object, the 45 physical cartridges and the Game Boy-inspired presentation. With a CD or LP, you are paying for a conventional music release that can be used with equipment you may already own.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFactor in the full purchase cost, not just the item price. A record may require a turntable and other audio components; a CD requires a working CD player. Japan-market products may also involve international shipping, taxes or import charges, while a reseller’s price for a sold-out collectible can be substantially different from its original price. None of those amounts is fixed by the catalog pages, so check the checkout total and return terms before deciding which format is the better value for you.

How to buy the Jukebox without ending up with the wrong item
- Define the role you want. Decide whether you want a collectible that produces Pokémon sounds or a release you can add to a normal music library. If you need your own digital files or a general playlist device, the official information does not show that the Jukebox supports those functions.
- Match the exact product name. Look for “Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox.” Do not assume that any listing containing “Pokémon,” “Game Boy” and “music” is the same product.
- Check what the seller says is in the package. The official description centers on the Jukebox and its 45 sound cartridges. For second-hand listings, ask for photographs of the device and cartridges and confirm whether any pieces are missing.
- Check the inventory date. The October 9, 2026 announcement proves a restock was reported then, not that every marketplace has stock now. Prefer a page that shows a current order status and a clear seller identity.
- Review the return and condition terms. A collectible with damaged packaging, non-working controls or missing cartridges is materially different from a complete new item. Marketplace listings can mix new, open-box and used stock.
- Do not infer unlisted features. If the listing promises Bluetooth, USB transfer, a headphone jack, a rechargeable battery or a particular speaker configuration, compare that claim with the manufacturer’s current specifications before paying a premium.
How to choose a Pokémon CD or record
Start with your playback hardware
A CD requires a functioning CD player, while vinyl requires a compatible turntable and the rest of the audio chain needed by that turntable. The Pokémon Center catalog lists the music products; it does not establish that playback equipment is included with them. If you are building a system from scratch, account for the hardware separately.
Choose the release by the music you actually want
- Game soundtrack focus: Look for collections tied to a specific game or expansion, such as Legends: Arceus or Scarlet and Violet with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.
- Anime nostalgia: Anime theme-song releases, including the “Mezase Pokémon Master / Hyakugojūichi” 7-inch, target songs rather than an entire game score.
- Curated vinyl: Pokémon Music Collective on LP is aimed at listeners who want a record-format release and its physical presentation.
Read the title and format carefully. “CD/DVD catalog” is the name of the Japan storefront section; an individual product may be a CD, LP, 7-inch record or another listed release. Do not infer the format from a thumbnail or from a marketplace headline alone.
Check whether a Japan-market item can reach you
The catalog reviewed is Pokémon Center Online Japan. Pokémon Center Support’s regional guidance, updated August 14, 2026, identifies Pokémon Center websites serving the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, and distinguishes those sites from Pokémon Center retail locations in Japan. A product appearing in the Japan catalog does not by itself prove that it is sold in another region or shipped internationally.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Before ordering, verify the destination country, currency, shipping restrictions, import charges and return process on the store serving your region. If a release is Japan-only, a local listing may be the only practical route, but you should confirm the seller’s authenticity and the media format before purchase. Regional storefronts can also show different stock, so searching one country’s site is not a reliable inventory check for another.
Where official Pokémon merchandise may be sold
Pokémon Center Support’s distributor guidance, dated June 24, 2026, identifies Pokémon Center, Pokémon Automated Retail Vending Machines and limited-time deals with major retailers such as Target and GameStop as licensed sales channels. The same guidance notes that Pokémon Trading Card Game cards are an exception distributed through existing mass-market-retailer partnerships.
This is channel guidance, not confirmation that the Game Boy Jukebox or a particular CD is available through every named channel. Product-level stock must be checked separately. A retailer carrying Pokémon merchandise does not automatically carry this specific music item.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Confusing a sound toy with a general music player
The Jukebox’s documented content is the included Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue melodies and sound effects. Nothing in the official announcements establishes support for arbitrary tracks, streaming services or personal files. If you need a device for a broad music library, buy hardware designed for that purpose and treat the Jukebox as a themed supplement.
Treating a restock notice as permanent availability
The October 9, 2026 notice records stock at that moment. It does not promise that the item will remain in stock, that production is ongoing or that every regional Pokémon Center has inventory. Recheck the current store page immediately before ordering.

Assuming every Pokémon Center catalog is interchangeable
Japan-market CDs and vinyl may have different availability, shipping rules and return procedures from stores serving North America, Europe or Oceania. Confirm the regional storefront and destination eligibility instead of assuming that a Japanese listing can ship worldwide.
Buying a sold-out record from an unclear reseller
The checked 7-inch “Mezase Pokémon Master / Hyakugojūichi” listing was sold out. If a reseller offers it, inspect photographs, catalog details, condition notes and seller history. A high price alone does not prove authenticity, and a vague title may describe a different pressing.
Paying for specifications that were never published
Do not treat unverified claims about battery runtime, charging, wireless connectivity or audio output as established facts. Ask for a manufacturer specification or clear documentation before using those features as a purchase criterion.
Care, storage and gifting considerations
The Jukebox and its cartridges are best treated as a complete collectible set. Store the cartridges with the unit, retain the packaging and keep the item away from conditions that could damage printed materials. For a gift, tell the recipient what the product is: a Pokémon Red and Blue sound toy with 45 included cartridges, not a device for playing a personal music library. That expectation prevents the most common disappointment.
For CDs and vinyl, protect the media and packaging as you would any other physical music collection. Check that the recipient owns the required player or turntable, especially when giving a 7-inch record. A record-only gift may be attractive but unusable without compatible equipment.
A practical decision guide
- Choose the Jukebox if you want a distinctly Pokémon-shaped collectible, tactile cartridges and sounds from the original Red and Blue games.
- Choose a CD if you already own a CD player and want a longer soundtrack release in a familiar format.
- Choose vinyl if you own compatible record-playing equipment and value the physical record, artwork and collector presentation.
- Wait or keep searching if the exact item is sold out, the seller cannot verify contents or the shipping terms for your region are unclear.
What is established—and what is not
The official material establishes the Jukebox’s Game Boy-inspired design, its 45 included sound cartridges and its Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue content. It also establishes that official CDs and vinyl are cataloged through Pokémon Center Online Japan, that the checked 7-inch anime record was sold out, and that a restock was reported at Pokémon Center on October 9, 2026.
It does not establish a universal retail price, a guaranteed current inventory position, worldwide shipping, an affiliate program, ordinary music-file playback or detailed electrical and acoustic specifications. Those details must be verified on the current product page and for your own region before purchase.

The official announcements specify 45 cartridges. Each contains a melody or sound effect from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue.
Was the Jukebox restocked?
The Pokémon Company International reported it back in stock at Pokémon Center on October 9, 2026. That is a dated restock report, not a guarantee of current inventory.
What Pokémon music can I buy on CD or vinyl?
The Pokémon Center Online Japan catalog displayed 23 items when accessed on October 13, 2026, including game soundtrack collections, anime releases and Pokémon Music Collective on LP. Individual titles and formats vary.

Do Pokémon Center Japan music products ship worldwide?
The catalog listing alone does not establish international shipping. Check the storefront serving your country, destination restrictions, import charges and return policy. Pokémon Center websites operate in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, separately from Japan retail locations.
Where are licensed Pokémon products sold?
Pokémon Center Support identifies Pokémon Center, Pokémon Automated Retail Vending Machines and limited-time deals with major retailers such as Target and GameStop. This does not mean every named channel stocks the Jukebox or a specific music release.
What should I check in a second-hand listing?
Confirm the exact product name, photographs of the Jukebox and all 45 cartridges, condition of the controls and packaging, seller identity, return terms and the claimed format. Missing cartridges or unclear provenance can materially reduce the item’s value.
The Bottom Line
For a Pokémon-themed physical music object, choose the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox. It is a 45-cartridge sound toy and collectible, not a general-purpose player. For conventional listening, choose an official Pokémon CD or vinyl release that matches your equipment and the music you want. Check current stock, regional eligibility and the complete checkout cost every time, because the October 9, 2026 restock and the Japan catalog listings are snapshots rather than permanent availability guarantees.
