Photo Mode is available in 007 First Light with free Update 1.3.0, released October 1, 2026. There is no official numeric “best settings” preset: IO Interactive confirms camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses, but its update notes do not specify slider names or recommended values. For sharper, more cinematic shots, start with clear framing, keep effects restrained, and adjust one control at a time.
What Photo Mode offers in 007 First Light
IO Interactive describes Photo Mode as a way to choose camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses, then capture Bond, locations, or action from a chosen angle. It arrived in the free Extended Operations Update 1.3.0, alongside New Game+ and a new “00” difficulty. The feature and update date are confirmed in the official Update 1.3.0 patch notes.

The notes do not list individual Photo Mode control names, slider ranges, or platform-specific button mappings. That means any exact recipe for aperture, focus, exposure, focal length, or field of view would be guesswork. Use the controls shown in your current game build rather than relying on values from another platform or an unverified guide.

A repeatable workflow for sharper screenshots
- Choose a readable moment. Pause on a scene with a clear subject and an unobstructed view. Decide whether you want a character portrait, an environmental establishing shot, or an action frame.
- Set the frame before adding effects. Move the camera and adjust framing until the subject is easy to distinguish. Choose an angle that supports the scene, and leave negative space when it helps the composition rather than filling every part of the frame.
- Separate subject from background. Look for clutter, overlapping shapes, or busy detail behind the subject. Repositioning the camera can improve perceived sharpness by making the important subject easier to read; this is composition advice, not a claim that Photo Mode changes image resolution.
- Keep the image legible. Avoid stacking visual effects or filters that obscure fine detail. Review the shot at the size where you expect to share it, since an effect that looks subtle on a large display may dominate a smaller image.
- Make one adjustment at a time. Change a camera setting or effect, inspect the result, and compare it with the previous framing. The live interface determines the available controls and their behavior.
For a more cinematic look
Use a deliberate angle and a composition with visible depth or atmosphere. Try a restrained overlay or filter, and choose a pose that feels intentional for the moment. If an effect competes with Bond, the action, or the setting, reduce or remove it. Since the official notes confirm only broad categories of tools, treat cinematic choices as visual experimentation—not a guaranteed preset.

Platform image-quality context
IO Interactive says upgraded PSSR is enabled by default for 007 First Light on PS5 Pro. In a May 19, 2026 post, the studio described the reconstruction as cleaner and more stable on fine detail; the same post says other platforms use FSR 3.1.5 as the studio’s upscaler outside PS5 Pro. This is rendering context, not a Photo Mode export specification. It does not establish screenshot output resolution or guarantee that images will look sharper on every display. The available official information also does not establish that Photo Mode controls or capture behavior are identical across platforms.

What is—and is not—an official “best settings” recipe
- Confirmed: Photo Mode includes camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses.
- Not published in the update notes: exact control names, numerical ranges, a recommended preset, capture resolution, or universal platform control mapping.
- Useful starting point: prioritize subject clarity, a purposeful angle, and restrained effects, then judge the result in your intended sharing size.
