An independent 2026 guide interprets that recommended CPU and GPU tier as suitable for approximately 60 frames per second at 1080p. That is a hardware-tier estimate, not a published benchmark for individual graphics options.
Rockbeasts’ exact graphics menu, frame-cap behavior, upscaling support, driver requirements, and per-setting performance have not been documented in the available sources. The safest tuning method is therefore to begin with the default preset, measure frame pacing during actual play, then reduce resolution or the most demanding effects only when you see sustained drops or stutter.

Recommended starting point
Use this sequence before changing individual options:
- Install Rockbeasts on a system that meets or exceeds the official recommended tier.
- Choose 1920×1080 if your monitor is 1080p or if smoothness matters more than image detail.
- Apply the default or recommended graphics preset.
- Play a repeatable section for several minutes rather than judging performance from a menu or loading screen.
- Watch for average smoothness, sudden hitching, and sustained frame-rate drops.
- If performance is unstable, lower output resolution first, then reduce the heaviest available effects one at a time.
This order avoids guessing which setting is responsible. No controlled Rockbeasts test establishes that shadows, textures, reflections, foliage, or another named option produces a particular frames-per-second gain, so treat every change as a troubleshooting experiment rather than a guaranteed optimization.

Rockbeasts PC requirements explained
The current Steam requirement fields list 8 GB of system memory for both the minimum and recommended configurations, plus 25 GB of available storage. The official minimum graphics choices are Intel UHD 620 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 3. The recommended graphics tier is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 550. Steam’s recommended processor class is an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, and the operating-system requirement is Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit.
| Component | Official minimum information | Official recommended information | What it means for tuning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 64-bit requirement is listed for the game | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Use a supported 64-bit installation and keep Windows fully updated through normal system maintenance. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM | Moving from 8 GB to more memory is not an official requirement for the game, but additional headroom can help if other applications are open. |
| Processor | Not stated in the cited requirement fields | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 class | If the processor is materially below this class, lowering resolution may not remove stutter caused by CPU work. |
| Graphics processor | Intel UHD 620 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 3 | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 550 | The GPU tier is the clearest hardware distinction between entry-level play and the recommended 1080p target. |
| Storage | 25 GB available | 25 GB available | Keep at least the required free space on the installation drive so updates and temporary files can be created. |
The requirement list does not promise a specific frame rate. The approximately 60-fps-at-1080p interpretation comes from PC Games Guide’s 2026 verification, which maps the recommended CPU and GPU class to that target. It should not be read as a guarantee for every scene, patch, background workload, or graphics preset.
Choose the right resolution and frame-rate goal
Your target determines whether you should preserve detail or prioritize consistency. A 60-fps goal at 1080p is the best-supported target in the available guidance. Higher resolutions require more graphics work, and the guide describes stronger hardware tiers for 1440p and 4K without identifying exact models in the available material.
| Target | Hardware guidance | Recommended approach | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p, approximately 60 fps | Recommended CPU and GPU class: Core i5-8400/Ryzen 5 2600 and GTX 1050/RX 550 class | Start with the default or recommended preset at 1920×1080; adjust only after observing play. | The frame-rate figure is an independent guide’s interpretation, not a per-setting benchmark. |
| 1440p | Use hardware stronger than the recommended 1080p tier | Begin at the monitor’s native resolution, then reduce resolution or demanding effects if frame pacing is uneven. | Exact processor, GPU, and measured Rockbeasts results are not stated. |
| 4K | Use a substantially stronger graphics tier than the 1080p recommendation | Prefer a stable lower resolution over an inconsistent native-4K image; test your own scenes. | No exact 4K hardware recommendation or controlled benchmark is available. |
If your monitor supports a high refresh rate, do not assume Rockbeasts will sustain it simply because the display can show it. Set a realistic target first, then evaluate whether the game remains consistent during busy scenes.
How to set up the game without over-tuning
1. Confirm the display mode
Open Rockbeasts’ display or video section, if present, and select the monitor you actually use. Choose the monitor’s native aspect ratio. For a 1080p test, select 1920×1080. If the game offers windowed, borderless, and exclusive full-screen modes, test the mode that gives the most stable frame pacing on your system; the available sources do not establish a universal winner.

2. Apply the default or recommended preset
Presets provide a reproducible baseline. Record the initial resolution and preset before changing anything. If the game offers an automatic recommendation, use it as a starting point rather than treating it as a guarantee of 60 fps.
3. Establish a repeatable test
Use the same save, area, camera movement, and activity after each change. Play long enough to encounter ordinary gameplay rather than judging a static view. A setting that looks smooth in an empty area may behave differently when many effects or characters appear.

4. Change one variable at a time
Lowering every option simultaneously makes it impossible to know what helped. Change resolution or one demanding effect, retest the same situation, and keep the change only if it improves consistency without an unacceptable loss of image quality.
Which settings to lower first
The sources do not include a Rockbeasts-specific ranking of graphics options by frames-per-second impact. Use the following order as a practical diagnostic method, not as a measured game benchmark.
Resolution or render scale
Reducing output resolution or render scale lowers the number of pixels the GPU must process and is usually the clearest way to test whether the graphics card is the limiting component. Try a modest step below native resolution before making several quality changes. If the frame rate barely changes, the limitation may be CPU-related, an application in the background, or a different bottleneck.

Heavy visual effects
If Rockbeasts exposes options for shadows, reflections, volumetric effects, ambient lighting, foliage, post-processing, or similar effects, reduce one of the highest-quality options at a time. These categories often affect complex scenes, but no Rockbeasts measurement supports promising a particular gain. Compare frame pacing in the same location after each adjustment.

Texture quality
Textures primarily affect image detail and video-memory use. Lower them when you see texture streaming problems, severe hitching while turning the camera, or warnings about graphics memory. Do not lower textures first if the game is already smooth and you are only trying to gain a few frames; resolution or costly effects may be a better trade.
Anti-aliasing and image reconstruction
If an anti-aliasing, upscaling, or reconstruction option exists, test its quality modes individually. The available material does not confirm which technologies Rockbeasts supports, so do not expect a named option or a particular mode to appear in every installation.
View distance and geometry
Distance-related options can affect scenes with many visible objects. Lower them only after testing resolution and the most expensive effects, because the visual impact can be more noticeable during exploration.
How to tell whether the change worked

If Rockbeasts includes an in-game performance display, use it. Otherwise, Steam’s overlay can provide an FPS counter: open Steam, select Steam in the top-left menu, choose Settings, open In Game, and enable the in-game FPS counter. The exact overlay appearance may differ by Steam update. Use the counter for comparisons, not as proof of a fixed benchmark.
Frame pacing is especially important when a system alternates between high and low values. A lower, steady target can feel better than a higher average with frequent spikes. If the game offers a frame-rate cap, test a cap near the rate your PC can sustain; the sources do not document Rockbeasts’ cap behavior, so verify the result in your own installation.

Close avoidable background work
Before testing, close browsers with many active tabs, video encoders, file synchronizers, and other applications that consume processor time, memory, or disk bandwidth. Keep essential security software running, but avoid starting a large download or installation during a performance comparison.
Check the active display adapter
On a laptop or hybrid system, confirm that Rockbeasts is using the intended high-performance GPU rather than an integrated adapter. In Windows, open Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the game if it is not listed, choose Options, and select the high-performance preference when that option is available. Labels can vary by Windows build and hardware.

Leave working space on the drive
The listed requirement is 25 GB of available storage. Keep at least that amount free on the installation drive, and avoid filling the drive completely. Low free space can complicate updates and temporary-file creation even when the game itself is installed correctly.
Troubleshooting by symptom
Low frame rate everywhere
- Confirm that the system is using the dedicated GPU, if one is installed.
- Return to 1920×1080 and the default or recommended preset.
- Lower resolution or render scale and retest.
- If the change has little effect, investigate CPU load, background programs, and thermal limits rather than continuing to lower visual quality.
Stutter when turning or entering new areas
- Test lower texture quality if the game exposes it.
- Close applications that access the drive or consume memory.
- Verify the Steam installation.
- Compare a capped, stable target with an uncapped presentation if Rockbeasts provides that control.
Performance degrades during a long session
- Check whether the processor or graphics card is becoming unusually hot and reducing its speed.
- Make sure vents are unobstructed and the system is not operating in a restrictive power mode.
- Retest after the machine has cooled; do not treat a short initial run as representative.
The game looks blurry after tuning
- Restore native output resolution first.
- Raise render scale or anti-aliasing one step if available.
- Keep heavy effects reduced only if they were the source of the instability.
Crashes or visual corruption
- Restore the default preset.
- Verify the installation through Steam.
- Undo any overclock or experimental graphics setting.
- If the issue persists, record the system specification, Windows version, graphics adapter, and exact symptom for support; no specific Rockbeasts driver version is established in the available evidence.
Do you need a graphics-card upgrade?
If your current GPU is below the official recommended tier, a GTX 1050-class graphics-card upgrade is the clearest hardware path supported by the available guidance. The equivalent recommended class is an RX 550. An upgrade is most relevant when lowering resolution and effects still leaves the GPU fully occupied and the frame rate below your target.
| Your situation | Most sensible next step | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Integrated graphics near Intel UHD 620 or Radeon RX Vega 3 | Use low resolution and conservative settings first; consider a dedicated GPU if you need a steadier 1080p experience. | The official minimum graphics tier is below the recommended GTX 1050/RX 550 class. |
| Dedicated GPU below GTX 1050/RX 550 class | Test 1080p with reduced effects, then evaluate a GPU upgrade. | The recommended tier is the evidence-backed hardware step associated with the approximately 60-fps 1080p interpretation. |
| GTX 1050/RX 550 class or better, but inconsistent performance | Check CPU load, temperatures, background work, storage, and frame pacing before buying parts. | A new GPU will not fix every CPU, thermal, or software bottleneck. |
| Targeting 1440p or 4K | Plan for hardware stronger than the 1080p recommendation, or lower the rendered resolution. | The guide identifies stronger tiers for those resolutions but does not provide exact models here. |
Replacing the whole PC is justified only when several parts are below the recommended class or the platform cannot accept a practical GPU upgrade. If the CPU is already near the recommended class and the GPU is the clear limit, a graphics-card upgrade is more targeted. If the GPU is adequate but frame pacing remains poor with little response to resolution changes, investigate the processor, memory pressure, thermals, and software first.
A practical tuning checklist
- Confirm Windows 10 or 11 64-bit and at least 8 GB of RAM.
- Check that 25 GB of storage is available on the installation drive.
- Compare your processor and GPU with the recommended Core i5-8400/Ryzen 5 2600 and GTX 1050/RX 550 classes.
- Start at 1920×1080 with the default or recommended preset.
- Test a repeatable gameplay scene.
- Use an FPS counter if available, but judge frame pacing as well as the average.
- Lower resolution or one demanding effect at a time when performance is unstable.
- Verify Steam files and close unnecessary background applications.
- Check GPU selection and thermal behavior.
- Consider a GTX 1050-class-or-better upgrade when the existing GPU is below the recommended tier and software tuning is insufficient.
Bottom line
The evidence-backed sweet spot for Rockbeasts is 1080p on hardware around the Steam recommended tier, with the default or recommended preset used as the baseline. A 2026 independent guide associates that CPU/GPU class with approximately 60 fps, but no published test ranks individual Rockbeasts settings. Tune by observation: establish a repeatable scene, monitor frame pacing, lower resolution or the heaviest available effects when necessary, and verify that software or thermal problems are not being mistaken for a need to replace the entire PC.
