The best PC gaming headsets with good microphones depend on your room, connection preference, and sound priorities—not one universal winner. The shortlist below includes current review picks for open-back, wireless, and multi-device use, alongside wired and mic-focused options. Treat review findings as evidence to compare, not a guarantee: fit, voice, room noise, and setup all affect the result.
How to choose a gaming headset for PC
Start with the conditions in which you will use it. A quiet room and a preference for an airy presentation point toward different choices than a noisy room where sound leakage is a problem. For everyday voice chat, an attached boom mic is convenient; streaming or other voice work that demands more control may warrant a separate microphone.

- Microphone: Voice clarity and noise rejection are different qualities. A mic can make speech intelligible while still picking up a keyboard, speakers, or room noise.
- Sound and imaging: Consider whether you prefer a bass-forward or more balanced presentation, and whether game cues are easy to locate. Virtual surround processing alone does not guarantee accurate positioning.
- Connection: Wired headsets do not need charging. A 2.4 GHz USB wireless connection is common for PC gaming; Bluetooth can be useful for other devices, but should not be assumed to provide the same low-latency experience.
- Fit: Weight, clamp force, pad shape, heat, glasses, and head size can change comfort substantially. A review cannot establish how a headset will fit you.

Check these details before ordering
- Match the exact model and variant. Check the full product name, platform suffix, and whether the listing includes the USB dongle or base station needed for your PC.
- Confirm your connection. Identify whether you plan to use USB wireless, Bluetooth, or a wired connection, and confirm your PC has the required port or adapter.
- Choose for your room. If you use speakers or share a room, an open-back headset’s sound leakage may be a drawback; if isolation matters, compare closed-back options in their current reviews.
- Assess mic needs realistically. For chat, prioritize intelligible voice and usable noise handling. For streaming, do not assume an integrated headset mic will meet your desired recording standard.

How to interpret microphone claims
Independent measurements and reviewer impressions answer different questions.
