HubSpot Service Hub, Salesforce Service Cloud, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center with Customer Service are the strongest-supported candidates in this shortlist for businesses that need customer support connected to sales. Zendesk is a useful support-led comparison, but the available evidence does not establish it as a complete sales CRM. No independent, apples-to-apples test or comparable current price set establishes one universal winner. Choose by the channels your customers use, how support context reaches sales, and the routing, automation, and integrations your operation needs.

What “omnichannel CRM” should mean for support and sales

A platform is not meaningfully omnichannel just because its product page displays many channel logos. The practical test is whether customers can move between the channels you actually support while agents retain relevant customer context and conversations can be routed to the right team. Salesforce describes consistency as customers move among voice, email, chat, and messaging; that is a vendor description of its offering, not independent proof of results. For a support-and-sales CRM, also ask whether service interactions are visible to sales, how cases or conversations are assigned and escalated, and whether the channels are native or depend on integrations. “Omnichannel” does not by itself establish that every channel is included in every plan, available in every region, or connected to every sales record.

Comparison of the shortlisted platforms

This is a shortlist based on the official product descriptions available for these candidates, not a hands-on performance ranking or a census of every product on the market. The evidence is strongest for the three platforms that explicitly combine service capabilities with customer context or sales handoff. Zendesk is included as a support-led comparison point because the description available here comes from Salesforce, not from an independent assessment.

1. HubSpot Service Hub: a connected service-and-sales record

HubSpot’s omnichannel product page describes Service Hub as a CRM-centered service platform in which customer interactions can flow to sales and marketing. It names email, live chat, and WhatsApp, and says channel APIs can integrate messaging or voice platforms. That makes it a relevant candidate when support should contribute to the same customer relationship used by sales, rather than sit in a disconnected service tool. HubSpot’s omnichannel customer-service page

What to weigh

  • Standout: The stated connection between service interactions and sales and marketing gives the product a clear cross-team use case.
  • Channels: Email, live chat, and WhatsApp are named. The page also describes channel APIs for messaging or voice integrations; it does not establish that every channel is native.
  • Plans and price: The cited evidence does not establish current prices or which tiers include each channel or integration.
  • Limit: Availability and entitlements may depend on the plan, integration, and region. The product description alone does not establish the configuration your team would receive.

Best fit: A team looking to connect service conversations with sales and marketing activity, especially if its required channels match the named options or can be integrated. Confirm the channel and plan details for the intended market before comparing quotes.

2. Salesforce Service Cloud: routing and CRM-connected engagement

Salesforce describes Service Cloud as supporting omnichannel service, automation, and AI agents. Its digital engagement page presents CRM-integrated channels, shared customer context, and omnichannel routing. Together, these vendor-stated capabilities make it a candidate for organizations that need a configurable service operation connected to CRM records and handoffs. They do not independently demonstrate implementation effort, service outcomes, or total cost. Salesforce’s service-software comparison; Salesforce digital engagement page

What to weigh

  • Standout: Salesforce explicitly describes omnichannel routing alongside shared customer context, addressing both conversation assignment and continuity across interactions.
  • Channels: The comparison describes movement among voice, email, chat, and messaging. Exact channel availability and plan requirements are not established by the cited pages.
  • Automation and AI: Automation and AI agents are described as part of the service offering; the evidence does not validate accuracy or outcomes.
  • Plans and price: The cited evidence does not provide a comparable current price set or establish which capabilities are included at each tier.
  • Limit: The available product descriptions do not establish implementation complexity, total ownership cost, or fit with a particular organization’s existing systems.

Best fit: Organizations that place a high priority on configurable routing and CRM-connected service interactions and are prepared to assess the required configuration and commercial terms.

3. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center and Customer Service: contact-center capabilities in the Microsoft ecosystem

Microsoft Learn describes Dynamics 365 Contact Center as a cloud product with omnichannel capabilities including IVR, AI agents, conversation summaries, sentiment analysis, live transcription, and translation. Related Customer Service documentation discusses voice calling through PSTN, automatic case creation, and queue management. These are documented product capabilities, not evidence of a particular deployment’s results. The Contact Center overview search result was last updated May 8, 2026; the related omnichannel introduction was last updated August 18, 2026. Microsoft Contact Center overview; Microsoft Customer Service omnichannel introduction

What to weigh

  • Standout: The documented feature set spans voice handling, queue and case workflows, and AI-assisted conversation processing.
  • Channels and operations: Microsoft documents omnichannel contact-center capabilities and PSTN voice in Customer Service material; the exact channel mix depends on product boundaries and deployment configuration.
  • Plans and price: The cited documentation does not establish comparable current license prices or which features are included in a particular license.
  • Limit: Buyers need to establish how Contact Center, Customer Service, and their intended Dynamics 365 Sales setup fit together, including licenses, integrations, and configuration.

Best fit: Organizations evaluating Microsoft’s contact-center and customer-service capabilities and needing to map them to an existing or planned Dynamics 365 environment.

4. Zendesk Agent Workspace: a support-led comparison point

In its own comparison page, Salesforce characterizes Zendesk Agent Workspace as bringing company channels together on one screen with customer data and collaboration tools. That makes Zendesk worth considering when the immediate need is a shared agent workspace. Because the cited description is authored by a competitor and does not establish how Zendesk meets a combined sales CRM requirement, it is a narrower basis for inclusion than the product documentation available for the three platforms above. What to weigh

  • Standout: The cited description emphasizes bringing channels, customer data, and collaboration tools into one workspace.
  • Channels and routing: The cited description does not enumerate channel entitlements or establish routing and automation details.
  • Plans and price: The cited description provides no current price or plan information.
  • Limit: The evidence does not establish that Agent Workspace by itself supplies the shared sales-record and handoff model required for this topic.

Best fit: A support-led team comparing agent workspaces, provided it separately determines how customer and sales records will be managed.

How to choose the right platform

Before comparing feature lists, define the operating model: which conversations must be joined to a customer record, who owns sales follow-up, and which team handles an escalation. Then assess candidates against the same real workflows.

  1. List required channels. Specify whether customers must reach you by voice, email, live chat, WhatsApp, or other messaging channels. Mark each as native or integration-dependent, and confirm availability in your region and target plan.
  2. Trace the customer record. Follow a sample journey from first contact to service resolution and possible sales follow-up. Identify which interaction history sales can see and whether agents have the context needed to continue a conversation.
  3. Map assignment and escalation. Define how cases or conversations enter queues, reach the right team, and move across teams or channels. Compare that map with the platform’s documented routing and queue features.
  4. Separate AI features from outcomes. Record which functions are offered—such as summaries, transcription, translation, sentiment analysis, or AI agents—and which require a human review step. Product descriptions establish capabilities, not accuracy or business impact.
  5. Check ecosystem fit. Confirm compatibility with your CRM, identity, telephony, data, and productivity systems. General integration claims do not guarantee compatibility with a specific setup.
  6. Compare total commercial scope. Ask for pricing based on the actual seats, editions, add-ons, integrations, onboarding, migration, and channel-provider fees. Confirm contract term and regional availability; the sources cited here do not support a fair, comparable price ranking.

What the available evidence can—and cannot—establish

The product pages and Microsoft Learn documentation support a reasoned shortlist, not a tested winner. Vendor descriptions identify capabilities they say their products offer, but they do not independently validate performance, implementation effort, or customer outcomes. Nor do they settle security, data residency, accessibility, or migration requirements for a particular buyer. Treat those as procurement checks for the intended deployment, not as established differences among the products above.

For a first shortlist, compare HubSpot when shared service and sales context is central, Salesforce when routing and CRM-connected engagement are priorities, and Microsoft when Contact Center and Customer Service need to fit a Dynamics 365 environment. Include Zendesk as a support-led workspace comparison, not as a proven substitute for the sales CRM component. The available evidence does not support a universal winner or a current price ranking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is omnichannel the same as multichannel?

Not necessarily. Multichannel means customers can use more than one channel; omnichannel generally implies that channels work together with relevant context carried across interactions. When evaluating a product, test the continuity and routing of the actual customer journey rather than relying on the label alone.

Can one platform cover both customer support and sales?

Some service platforms describe CRM context or handoffs to sales, but the term “omnichannel” alone does not prove that a product covers your full sales process. Establish how leads, customer records, and service histories connect in the specific configuration you are considering.

Should I choose based on the number of supported channels?

No. A channel matters only if your customers use it and your team can manage it with the context and routing the operation requires. A smaller, well-connected channel set may serve a team better than a longer list whose availability or integration requirements are unclear.
