For a mostly static Hindi sleep-music stream, start with OBS at 1080p30, H.264, CBR, 10 Mbps video, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. If your upload connection cannot sustain 10 Mbps reliably, use 720p30 at 6 Mbps instead. These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming or a particular viewer-side quality. [YouTube’s encoder settings]
Recommended OBS settings
A sleep-music broadcast usually has little visual movement, so 30 fps is a sensible starting point. Choose the lower-bandwidth profile if it is more reliable on your connection; a bitrate that briefly works at peak speed may still drop frames or disconnect during an overnight stream.

The bitrate figures are YouTube’s current H.264 encoder guidance, accessed in 2026, not measured results. Set bitrate to what your internet connection can sustain consistently. YouTube transcodes live streams into formats for different devices and networks, so the encoder’s output resolution does not guarantee the rendition every viewer receives. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends testing before going live with audio and movement similar to the real stream.

Audio and color
- Set audio to AAC stereo, 128 kbps, and 44.1 kHz. YouTube also lists MP3 as an option for stereo audio.
- Use Rec. 709 for SDR video.
- Listen for clipping, silence, gaps where the file loops, and uneven left/right channel balance. This is a preflight check, not a finding from a playback test.
Ingest protocol
Choose RTMPS if it is supported by the selected YouTube stream configuration. YouTube recommends it as the secure extension of RTMP. See YouTube’s encoder settings.

Set up the repeating music in OBS
Loop one file
- In OBS, add a Media Source and select the local recording you want to play.
- Enable Loop in that source’s properties. OBS documents this option as replaying a file when playback completes; its supported formats include MP4 and MP3.
- Check the complete media cycle before broadcasting: verify that picture and sound continue and that the transition back to the beginning is acceptable.
Loop a playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed; OBS requires it for the VLC Video source type.
- Add a VLC Video source and configure the playlist with the files you intend to play.
- Confirm Loop Playlist is enabled. OBS documentation says it is enabled by default.
- Listen and watch through a full cycle, including the transition between the last and first items.
These controls repeat the media; they do not establish that OBS will recover from a crash, restart after a computer reboot, or stay connected indefinitely. OBS’s documentation for these sources is at Media Sources.
Configure YouTube and start the stream
- Open YouTube Studio and create or select the live stream in Live Control Room. Set up the encoder ahead of the broadcast, following YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Copy the stream key into OBS’s streaming settings for the selected YouTube stream. Treat it as a password: YouTube says the key tells the encoder where to send the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Do not share it or expose it in a recording or screenshot. See Manage live stream settings.
- Start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check that the intended video and audio are present before starting the public broadcast.
- During the stream, monitor stream health and review messages. YouTube’s advice is to “monitor the stream health and review messages” during the event. A long-running broadcast needs a monitoring and recovery plan; the bitrate settings alone are not an uptime solution. YouTube live streaming tips.
Protect the music rights and set viewer expectations
Confirm that you have permission for every recording and for the specific use of continuous YouTube livestreaming. The sources available here do not establish the rights status of any Hindi song, devotional recording, instrumental track, or license. Owning a copy or giving attribution does not by itself establish permission to stream it. Check the rights with the relevant rights holder and consult current YouTube policy before broadcasting.

YouTube’s DVR setting lets viewers pause and resume a live stream, but that does not establish that a 24/7 broadcast will have a complete replay archive or how long an archive would remain available. Do not promise viewers they can replay the entire broadcast on that basis. Manage live stream settings.

Troubleshoot common problems
