OBS describes its software as free, open-source and commercially usable. Its Media Source documentation lists MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV; for extended media support, it documents a VLC playlist source. Clear Indian-music rights before setting up the stream
A song being available on a music service or in a playlist does not mean you may rebroadcast it. YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image; if the content remains, it may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even a licence may not prevent a live interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Confirm both the necessary permissions and any allowlisting directly with the relevant rights holders before going live.

Do not use songs played from YouTube or YouTube Music as the source for a public rebroadcast simply because the tracks are available there. PPL’s homepage describes its repertoire as more than 1.04 crore songs across several Indian languages, but that repertoire claim does not establish YouTube digital-livestream rights. YouTube’s live Content ID matching feature is for certain partners using Content Manager. Its stated requirements include global rights and exclusive ownership of the material in the live stream; it is a rights-owner tool, not a way for a channel to acquire permission to use songs it does not own. Set up a local playlist with OBS and VLC
Use this route for music you own or are explicitly licensed to livestream. OBS’s documented options establish playlist playback and looping, but do not promise uninterrupted service; plan to monitor the desktop workflow and respond if it stops.

- Prepare cleared files. Keep only recordings for which you have the necessary digital livestream permissions. Organize them locally and check that the files are in formats supported by the selected source.
- Install VLC as well as OBS. The OBS VLC playlist source depends on VLC being installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. Check the current OBS Help Portal for instructions applicable to your operating system and software version.
- Add the playlist source to your scene. In OBS, add the VLC playlist source and select the local audio or video files to include. Set the order you want; use shuffle only if you want the order to vary.
- Choose loop behavior and check playback. Enable looping for a repeating playlist. Preview the scene and confirm the files play as intended before starting a public broadcast.
- Configure YouTube delivery separately. OBS’s playlist feature handles media playback; it does not replace the YouTube broadcast configuration. Set up the channel’s live broadcast and connect the encoder using YouTube’s current workflow. Do not assume the playlist source supplies or configures a YouTube stream key.
- Plan for continuity. Keep the desktop, network connection and broadcast chain operating, and arrange a way to notice interruptions and restart the workflow. OBS’s cited documentation does not promise continuous-service reliability.
If you need scheduled radio rotation, AutoDJ, or live-DJ handoff, AzuraCast may fit better than a single desktop scene. Assign uploaded media to playlists and configure the desired rotation or schedule in AzuraCast; then separately configure and monitor the encoder or relay that carries the broadcast to YouTube. Its documented radio automation should not be mistaken for a turnkey YouTube relay.

Its playlist controls can organize sequential or shuffled rotation, scheduled blocks, and triggers based on songs or elapsed minutes. Operators can also use its documented live streamer accounts with compatible Icecast- or Shoutcast-broadcasting software.
