There is no single proven best mo.co weapon for every fight. For a documented ranged kit with piercing, slowing, area damage, and healing, start with Speedshot. For team protection through enemy taunting and healing, choose Wolf Stick. For fast close-range attacks, stuns, invisibility, and multi-directional damage, choose Squid Blades. Those are role-based recommendations from the abilities described by the developers—not a measured damage ranking—and they should be rechecked after future beta updates.

How the current weapon system changes the decision
In the reworked mo.co system, a weapon is a complete class with predefined skills rather than a blank weapon that you customize with a build. That makes the choice less about assembling perks and more about matching a fixed kit to the job in front of you.

Best mo.co weapons for bosses
Speedshot: the ranged, control, and sustain option
Speedshot is the clearest choice when a boss fight rewards distance and repeated repositioning. Its arrows pierce enemies in a line, so a boss with adds behind it can potentially be hit together with those nearby targets. The kit also includes a dash, a slowing attack called Cold Snap, an area-damage attack called Rain Supreme, and a healing-over-time ability.
The May 19 relaunch notes list timings of 2.5 seconds for the dash, 4 seconds for the slowing attack, 10 seconds for the explosive volley, and 12 seconds for the healing-over-time ability. Those are ability timings in the developer description, not measured damage or survivability results, and later balance changes may alter them.

Rain Supreme is more valuable when the boss and supporting enemies overlap than when the boss is alone. Healing over time gives the kit a way to recover without abandoning the fight, but it does not make mistakes harmless.
Wolf Stick: threat management and shared healing
Wolf Stick solves a different boss problem. Its wolf can direct enemy attacks toward itself, allowing the player to influence where pressure lands. The charged ability heals both the wolf and the player, giving the kit a form of shared sustain rather than only personal recovery.

The June 17 season announcement describes a three-shot ranged attack, a dash, a piercing attack, the wolf taunt, and the charged healing or frenzy ability. That combination makes Wolf Stick worth trying when a boss’s dangerous attacks can be made more manageable by moving the target away from the player or from teammates.
Do not interpret the taunt as guaranteed immunity for the player or as proof that the wolf can survive every encounter. The available descriptions do not state taunt duration, damage reduction, wolf health scaling, or boss resistance rules. Treat the weapon as a threat-control and sustain tool, then verify how a particular boss reacts in the current build.

Speedshot: line clearing and controlled approaches
Speedshot’s piercing arrows are naturally suited to enemies arranged in a lane. Instead of treating each target as an isolated single-target problem, you can aim through the front enemy and continue along the line. Cold Snap’s slow can delay a push, while Rain Supreme supplies area damage when several enemies occupy the same space.
This kit is strongest when you can influence enemy positioning. Pulling back so enemies stack in a corridor or approach from one direction increases the chance that piercing and area attacks affect multiple targets. If enemies spread widely, the same attacks may hit fewer targets, and the weapon’s theoretical advantage becomes less relevant.
Squid Blades: close-range pressure against clusters
Squid Blades is a fast single-target close-range weapon with tools that broaden its reach. Its dash-and-stun can interrupt or reposition around a threat, its cone-shaped attack can cut through a group in front of you, and its charged attack sends blades in all directions. The June 17 description also gives it five seconds of invisibility and says the charged attack heals on hits.

Choose Squid Blades when you are comfortable entering the pack and can turn enemy density into an advantage. The cone is directional, so face the largest portion of the group before committing. The all-direction charged attack is more valuable when enemies have surrounded you than when only one target is present. Invisibility can create a window to disengage or set up another attack, but the published description does not establish how every enemy or encounter mechanic interacts with it.
Other documented mob-oriented options
The relaunch notes describe Head Banger as close-range area damage. That makes it a logical candidate when the encounter consistently puts several enemies within its range, although no damage values or comparison tests are provided.
Venom Bow is described with damage-over-time and spread mechanics. It may fit encounters where effects can be distributed across several targets or allowed to continue while you reposition. The available material does not state its total damage, spread radius, duration, or clear-time advantage, so it should be treated as a situational alternative rather than a proven mob winner.
Mob selection checklist
- Look at the enemy formation before choosing: lines favor piercing, while surrounding packs favor cone or all-direction attacks.
- Decide whether you can safely fight at close range. If not, begin with Speedshot rather than forcing Squid Blades into a dangerous position.
- Identify the control you need. A slow can delay an approach, a stun can interrupt a threat, and invisibility can provide a temporary escape or setup window.
- Check whether enemies remain alive long enough for damage-over-time or spread effects to matter.
- Reassess after the first wave. A weapon that feels efficient against a tight pack may be less suitable when the next wave is dispersed or ranged.
Best mo.co weapons for co-op missions
The official support index includes help for teaming up with friends, Expeditions, and Rifts. Those activities make team function an important selection criterion, but no published team-performance study identifies one required composition.
Wolf Stick for protection and target control
Wolf Stick offers the most explicit party-facing utility among the documented kits. Lonesome Howl can taunt enemies toward the wolf, which may let teammates attack with less immediate pressure or give the group time to revive, reposition, or focus a priority target. Feral Frenzy heals the wolf and player, supporting the same threat-management plan.

Coordinate the taunt rather than activating it randomly. It is most useful when the team agrees which enemy should be redirected and where that enemy should stand. Because taunt behavior, duration, and boss resistance are not specified, confirm the result in the particular Expedition or Rift instead of assuming every elite responds identically.
Speedshot for space and wave control
Speedshot’s slow and area damage can help a group maintain room to maneuver. A player using it can attack from range, slow an approaching wave, and place explosive damage where several enemies converge. Piercing attacks may also reduce a line of ordinary enemies while teammates concentrate on a dangerous target.
This is utility inferred from the kit, not evidence that Speedshot increases a team’s completion rate by a measured amount. The value depends on whether teammates can exploit the space and whether the mission actually produces grouped enemies.
Squid Blades for mobile close-range play
Squid Blades can suit a co-op player who is assigned to fast target pressure or flanking. Its dash-and-stun, cone attack, invisibility, and all-direction charged attack provide several ways to enter and leave a crowded fight. Healing on charged-attack hits may help sustain an aggressive rotation.

A third-party tier list dated September 26, 2026 places Jaded Blades, Speedshot, and Spinsickle in its top weapon tier. That is an overall opinion snapshot from that publisher, not a ranking issued by the game’s developer and not a boss-versus-mob-versus-co-op matchup test.
Use the list as a short list of weapons worth investigating, not as a reason to ignore encounter mechanics. Speedshot’s placement is at least consistent with its documented range, control, area damage, and healing tools. The material available here does not provide equivalent ability details for Jaded Blades or Spinsickle, so their tier placement cannot be translated into a specific recommendation for a boss, mob wave, or team role.

How to test a weapon without mistaking a feeling for a ranking
If you want a personal choice rather than a universal claim, use the same procedure for each candidate:
- Write down the mission requirement. Choose one measurable question, such as “Can I stay out of melee range?” or “Can the team survive the first elite wave?”
- Use the same encounter type. Do not compare a tightly packed mob wave with a spread-out ranged wave and call the difference a weapon result.
- Record practical outcomes. Note whether you were forced to retreat, whether a control ability was available when needed, and whether healing prevented a reset. Do not infer DPS from a single visual hit.
- Repeat with the same objective. One successful run can reflect enemy movement or teammate actions rather than the weapon itself.
- Keep the role separate from the result. A weapon can be valuable because it protects teammates or creates space even if another weapon appears to deal more damage.
- Check the current kit in-game. Timing and availability can change when the beta receives an experimental update.
Current beta status and why rankings can change
On September 24, 2026, the mo.co team announced that the game had returned to beta and would run in low-maintenance mode. The announcement says following seasons will not release new weapons, seasonal passes will not include weapons, and content will be recycled. It also says the team wants more frequent experimental updates and is aiming to launch the next update before the end of 2026, while confirming that no date had been set.
“We haven’t confirmed a date for the next update yet, but we’re aiming to launch it before the end of 2026.”
That statement is an aim, not a scheduled release. The May 19 and June 17 ability descriptions are useful references for the documented kits, but their timings and behavior may not remain unchanged. Before relying on any recommendation, inspect the current in-game weapon information and the official support topics for Weapons, Expeditions, Rifts, and Teaming Up With Friends.
