For a practical PC starting point, lower shadows, effects, foliage, and post-processing; keep native resolution if it meets your frame-rate goal; and test an available upscaler if it does not. These are guide-recommended adjustments, not a guaranteed best preset: the right balance depends on your hardware, resolution, patch, and tolerance for input delay or screen tearing. Judge changes in a demanding fight, not only in a quiet menu.
Start with a balanced baseline
Begin with the display and performance settings that affect frame rate or combat readability most directly. Make one change at a time so you can tell what helped.

- Confirm your display setup. In Windows and the game’s display settings, select your monitor’s native resolution and intended refresh rate. Turn on the game’s FPS display, if available, or use a trusted performance overlay.
- Reduce visual workload first. Lower shadows, effects, foliage, and post-processing. These categories are commonly recommended starting points for performance and less visual clutter; their effect varies by PC and patch.
- Keep textures as high as your system can handle steadily. Retain a higher texture setting if video memory and frame-time stability allow it. Without your hardware details, there is no reliable universal texture tier to recommend.
- Keep native resolution if it meets your target. If it does not, try an upscaler offered for your hardware, such as DLSS or FSR. Check fine edges, distant opponents, and moving effects during play; a static image may not reveal blur or other loss of clarity in motion.
- Try VSync off as a responsiveness baseline. If tearing bothers you, test VSync on; a frame cap can also help some players manage tearing or uneven frame pacing. Compare in a representative fight rather than assuming one option is best for everyone.
- Retest in a high-action match. Note average FPS and dips, then keep the clearest configuration that meets your target. Change only one variable between comparisons.
Choose between performance and visual fidelity
Lower settings can recover performance, but settings that affect lighting, reflections, and resolution can also change how the game looks. Prioritize the settings that improve your frame rate without making opponents or effects harder for you to read. If you are already meeting your target, lowering every option may sacrifice image quality without solving a problem.
Published benchmark results illustrate why settings cannot be treated as universal prescriptions. In its 2025 Marvel Rivals guide, PCGamesN reported, on its own 1080p test system, averages of 110 FPS at Medium, 100 FPS at High, and 85 FPS at Ultra. With its low-oriented settings on that test machine, it reported 141.9 FPS average and an 84.3 FPS 1% low at 1080p; at 1440p, 114.9 FPS average and a 50.7 FPS 1% low; and at 4K, 83 FPS average and a 22.5 FPS 1% low. Those are results from that publication’s setup, not expected results for every player. See PCGamesN’s settings guide and test details.

Use upscaling and frame generation selectively
Marvel Rivals’ official February 21, 2025 patch notes said: “NVIDIA DLSS 4 is available now, featuring DLSS Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU.” The same notes documented AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 support on Radeon RX 5000 series or newer and a fix for FSR3 frame pacing. These details are dated: later patches may change what is available or how it behaves, so check current in-game options and official notes rather than treating this as a complete current feature list. When native resolution misses your target, compare supported upscalers by image quality in motion as well as frame rate. For competitive play, treat frame generation as optional: generated frames may increase the displayed count on supported hardware, but you should decide whether responsiveness and any visual artifacts are acceptable. NVIDIA promotes Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and Reflex for Marvel Rivals; its feature page claims “up to 5X” frame rates and “up to 55%” lower PC latency. Those are vendor claims, not independent results or guarantees for an individual PC. A 2026 Overgear guide recommends disabling frame generation for competitive play, underscoring that players may weigh the tradeoff differently. NVIDIA’s Marvel Rivals feature information and Overgear’s settings recommendations provide further context.

- Quality Visuals: The KG271U 27" IPS monitor with 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
- AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provide the smoothest gaming experience.
- Up to 180Hz: The 180Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver an ultra-smooth 2D motion scene. With a rapid refresh rate of up to 180Hz, Acer Gaming Monitors shorten the time it takes for frame rendering, lower input lag and provide gamers an excellent in-game experience.
- Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG271U Gaming Monitor.
- New Depths of Color Accuracy: is monitor is ideal for color-critical projects producing accurate colors, supporting DCI-P3 95%. An amazing monitor for graphic designers, photographers, and film editors.
Set VSync and frame pacing around your priorities
VSync off is a reasonable starting point when responsiveness is the priority, but it can leave visible tearing. Turning it on may reduce tearing, while a frame cap can help some systems produce steadier pacing. Guides differ on display-setting recommendations because hardware, monitors, and player preferences differ. Test the alternatives in the same kind of match and keep the one that best balances smoothness, tearing, and control for you.

Steam lists a GeForce GTX 1060, AMD RX 580, or Intel Arc A380 as minimum PC graphics hardware, and a GeForce RTX 2060 Super, RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A750 as recommended. Both tiers list 16 GB of RAM and DirectX 12; Steam also recommends installing the game on an SSD. These are system requirements, not promises of a particular FPS. See Marvel Rivals on Steam.

A high-refresh-rate monitor can show more frames only when the PC renders them; it does not create additional game-rendered FPS. NVIDIA discusses 120 Hz, 144 Hz, and 240 Hz display targets, but the useful target for you depends on what your system sustains and what your display supports. Check that Windows is set to the monitor’s intended refresh rate before judging the in-game result. NVIDIA’s feature page describes its display examples.
Treat crashes as a separate problem from low FPS
If Marvel Rivals crashes, performance tuning may not address the cause. In a notice dated June 24, 2025, NetEase advised NVIDIA players to use GeForce Game Ready Driver 576.80 or later, and described a crash condition affecting specified RTX 40- and 50-series cards when Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling was disabled under driver 572.40 onward. That notice is historical, not current October 2026 driver advice. Check NetEase’s latest guidance and current NVIDIA driver notes before changing drivers or scheduling settings. Remember that patches can affect visibility
Settings are only part of readability. NetEase can change how combat effects appear in a patch; PC Gamer reported on July 16, 2026 that the developer made visual-effects changes intended to reduce battlefield chaos. If the game suddenly feels harder or easier to read after an update, check the patch notes before assuming your display settings are responsible. PC Gamer’s July 16, 2026 report covers those changes.
