For a self-managed VPS, Inservers is the most directly relevant Indian option in the available published comparisons: its entry streaming VPS is advertised with 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, a 1 Gbps unmetered link and a monthly price of ₹880. Those are vendor claims, not independently tested results; verify egress and fair-use terms before relying on it for a nonstop stream. If you do not specifically need to administer a VPS, StreamNeo is the #1 managed alternative to consider: it runs an uploaded-video YouTube stream from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.
Start with the real cost: monthly video transfer
A VPS price is not a useful comparison until you know whether its outbound transfer allowance can carry your stream. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for H.264 video at 1080p and 30 fps. At a steady 5 Mbps, 30 days of continuous video is approximately 1.62 TB of payload: 5,000,000 bits per second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8. That is a calculation from YouTube’s recommendation, not a provider quote; it excludes protocol overhead and retransmissions, so allow headroom.

This is why a low monthly price with a small transfer cap can be a false economy. For every VPS, check included outbound transfer, overage charges or throttling, and whether “unmetered” has fair-use conditions. Also distinguish a stream that simply relays or plays an already encoded video from one that encodes or transcodes media: the latter has different CPU needs.
Best options for keeping a prerecorded YouTube stream running
The first entry is a managed alternative, not a VPS. It is included because some creators want the always-on result without operating a server. The remaining entries are VPS options, ranked by how directly the published offer appears to fit continuous streaming—not by independently verified performance.
#1 Best Overall
| Rank and option | Published offer | What to weigh before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo (managed alternative) | Cloud service for looping uploaded videos to YouTube, with one flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps. First day free, with no card required. See StreamNeo. | No VPS administration or home computer needs to stay on. It is not a VPS, and it streams uploaded videos to YouTube rather than from a live camera. Plan details and prices are given below. |
| 1. Inservers streaming VPS | Advertises a New Delhi deployment, 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 1 Gbps unmetered bandwidth and an entry price of ₹880 per month. The provider describes RTMP relay use. | The most directly positioned VPS offer in this comparison, but still vendor marketing rather than a performance test. Confirm egress and fair-use conditions, taxes, renewal price and whether your workload is relay-only or includes encoding/transcoding. |
| 2. VPSWala KVM VPS 4 | Published at ₹596 per month before GST, with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe and 200 GB transfer. VPSWala lists Mumbai, Noida and Jaipur nodes and full root access. Its catalogue and pricing were reviewed on 21 August 2026. | The listed transfer is far below the approximately 1.62 TB monthly payload at 5 Mbps. Ask what a plan with sufficient egress costs before treating this as a low-cost 24/7 streaming host. |
| 3. HeavenCloud Mumbai budget VPS | Advertises an offer from ₹340 per month, including a listed 2 GB configuration. | The available offer details do not establish enough outbound transfer for continuous video or validate encoder performance. Do not infer 24/7 suitability from the sticker price or RAM alone. |
| 4. AWS Lightsail Mumbai | A secondary comparison gives an approximate Mumbai Nano price including GST and included transfer, but does not establish a current checkout quote here. | AWS notes that Mumbai bundle transfer allowances are half the amounts shown for some other regions. Check the current Mumbai bundle, applicable taxes and foreign-exchange treatment, and excess-transfer charges before estimating the real bill. |
| 5. DigitalOcean, Vultr and Akamai/Linode | A secondary comparison lists India locations and approximate monthly prices; it is not a current quote from these providers. | These are options to validate at checkout if you need cloud features such as APIs, snapshots or multiple Indian regions. Do not assume a small instance’s included egress will cover a nonstop stream. |
| Managed comparison: StreamSetu | Its official page lists $5 per month per channel, with storage charged separately. It says the stream can run while the PC is off, and each output destination counts as a channel. | Confirm the selected resolution’s actual rate, storage, India billing and tax treatment, and renewal terms before comparing total costs. |
The provider figures above are published offers or dated secondary-comparison snapshots, not personal test results. TechPlained’s comparison was updated on 16 September 2026. Prices, tax, transfer allowances, routes and terms can change; confirm current details with the provider before paying.
How to choose a VPS for your stream
- Estimate outbound transfer first. Use your intended resolution, frame rate and bitrate to estimate monthly payload. Compare that number with the provider’s included transfer, then account for overhead and any overage pricing.
- Confirm the actual location and route. A provider naming an Indian city does not establish how well its route will perform from your location. Confirm the deployment region and test the route or workload during the applicable trial period, if one is offered.
- Match resources to the job. For playback or relay of an already encoded file, do not pay for transcoding capacity you do not need. If you plan to encode or transcode on the VPS, verify the software’s requirements and test sustained CPU and memory use; the listed specifications alone do not prove that an instance can handle your chosen settings.
- Check storage and recovery. Confirm usable media storage, what happens when a process stops or the VPS reboots, and how you will restart the encoder. A provider’s bandwidth or “streaming-ready” wording does not by itself guarantee process recovery or uninterrupted delivery.
- Calculate the whole bill. Include GST or other tax, transfer overage, storage, currency conversion where relevant, renewal terms and the time you will spend administering the server. Compare that total with managed streaming, not just the VPS headline price.
Connect a VPS encoder to YouTube Live
YouTube’s encoder workflow covers the platform connection; it does not endorse a VPS provider or document a particular prerecorded-video loop. The YouTube Live Control Room supplies the server URL and stream key that the encoder needs.

- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream. To schedule one, use the Manage tab and schedule the stream there.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the corresponding server and key fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in public logs, screenshots or shared configuration, and reset it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Set encoder output to match YouTube’s guidance. For H.264 at 1080p30, YouTube recommends a 5 Mbps video bitrate, RTMPS, CBR bitrate encoding and a 2-second keyframe frequency (not exceeding 4 seconds). Use the appropriate settings for your chosen output rather than assuming the 1080p30 values apply to every resolution or frame rate.
- Start the encoder and check the live preview. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed and that video and audio are present before relying on the stream. A successful connection confirms delivery at that moment, not future uptime or automatic recovery.
- Plan for streams longer than 12 hours. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume the same automatic archive behavior for a longer continuous feed; retain your source recording if you need a copy.
Copyright, reused content and monetization
Streaming a prerecorded file does not make it original, licensed or eligible for monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies to live streaming as well as Shorts and long-form videos; its clarification updated on 15 July 2025 says monetized material is expected to be original and authentic, and identifies repetitive or mass-produced content as inauthentic and ineligible. Review rights for music, images, performances and other material in the actual programming, and assess the substance of the channel rather than relying on the fact that it is live.
YouTube’s encoder instructions explain how to send a live feed; they are not approval of a VPS host, a loop configuration, the content’s rights or its monetization eligibility. Resolve those issues independently before scheduling a long-running stream.

Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the prerecorded YouTube channel live without maintaining a VPS, StreamNeo is a managed option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It loops uploaded video from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera and it is for YouTube.

Common problems and what to check
- The stream stops when the transfer allowance runs out: compare the provider’s outbound-transfer accounting with your calculated monthly payload and check overage, throttling and fair-use rules. Increasing CPU will not fix an egress cap.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: verify that the server URL and stream key are copied into the correct encoder fields, the key is current, and the encoder is sending to the intended scheduled or active stream. Reset an exposed key.
- Playback or delivery falters under load: check sustained CPU and memory use, the VPS route and whether the job is transcoding rather than relaying an already encoded video. Published vCore, RAM and link-speed figures do not establish real-world performance.
- The process does not resume after a restart or disconnect: check how the encoder process is supervised and restarted on your chosen VPS. Do not assume the host provides automatic recovery unless its terms explicitly say so.
- The channel gets a copyright or monetization issue: review the rights and originality of the programming itself. Changing VPS providers or presenting prerecorded material as live does not resolve content-policy concerns.
