Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteFor a prerecorded podcast prepared as video, the lowest-effort route is a managed cloud looping service; the most configurable DIY route is a VPS running an encoder. There is no evidence here for a universal cheapest or most reliable option: the right cost depends on your stream’s format, bitrate, runtime, storage, and how much server work you want to own. This comparison is for episodes or playlists streamed as video, not for producing a genuinely live podcast from microphones and cameras.
What counts as a 24/7 podcast stream?
A prerecorded podcast stream sends an already-recorded episode, or a playlist of episodes, to YouTube as a continuous video stream. The video might include the episode artwork, a waveform, captions, or recorded footage. YouTube’s encoder documentation explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming; its verified encoder directory includes tools for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams.

This is different from a live-origin show, where hosts, guests, microphones, cameras, and a production setup create the program in real time. A looping service can keep uploaded video playing, but it is not a substitute for a live studio or the production equipment and workflow a live show needs. If your podcast is audio-only, you still need to prepare a video source acceptable to your chosen workflow and YouTube before starting a video stream.

- StreamNeo — managed looping, with a flat price per slot. Upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and start the stream; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud. The same plan supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card. It is the first option to consider if you want the channel to keep running without leaving a computer on.
- Gyre — a cloud-based prerecorded-stream option listed by YouTube. YouTube’s verified encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams. The material available for this comparison does not establish a current price, included storage or transfer, or a common-workload reliability figure, so check its current terms against your episode length, output quality, and playlist needs before choosing it.
- A self-managed VPS — more control, more administration. A virtual private server can run an encoder that sends your prepared video to YouTube. Amazon Web Services lists Linux Lightsail bundles starting at $5 per month with 1 TB of data transfer on the entry plan (AWS pricing page accessed October 3, 2026). That is a starting plan price, not an all-in cost for a continuous stream: bitrate, outbound transfer beyond the allowance, storage, and encoder workload all matter. You also configure and maintain the software and handle recovery if the stream stops.
- Google Cloud Live Stream API — managed encoding billed by configuration and use. Google Cloud’s pricing page, accessed October 3, 2026, lists H.264 input at $0.07 per hour for its stated base tier. Input charges vary by configured resolution, and output charges vary by resolution and codec. That base input rate alone is not a total monthly quote for a 24/7 podcast pipeline; estimate the actual input, output, and runtime configuration before comparing it with a bundled service.
Compare the cost model, not just the headline price
| Option | Published price or billing model | What the price does not settle | Who operates the stream |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Daily $0.99 per day · Weekly $2.99 per week · Monthly $9.99 per month · 6 months $49.99 for 6 months · Yearly $89.99 a year | Each slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots. Check that your uploads fit the available storage. | StreamNeo runs the uploaded-video loop in the cloud; you provide the YouTube stream key and content. |
| Gyre | Not stated in the available source material; check the provider’s current terms. | Current storage, transfer, quality limits, and plan conditions are not established here. | Cloud-based option listed in YouTube’s verified encoder directory; specific recovery performance is not established here. |
| AWS Lightsail Linux VPS | Starting at $5/month with 1 TB transfer on the entry plan, according to AWS’s pricing page accessed October 3, 2026. | AWS notes that outbound transfer above the allowance may incur charges. A continuous stream’s bitrate and runtime determine whether the allowance is sufficient; storage and any additional resources also affect total cost. | You manage the encoder, server configuration, software, and recovery. |
| Google Cloud Live Stream API | Usage-based. The pricing page accessed October 3, 2026 lists $0.07/hour for H.264 input at the stated base tier. | Input charges depend on configured resolution, and output charges depend on resolution and codec. The listed input rate is not an all-in 24/7 pipeline quote. | Google Cloud provides managed encoding infrastructure, but you still need to configure and estimate the service for your workflow. |
These prices are not directly comparable: they use different billing units and cover different combinations of encoding, server resources, storage, and data transfer. No common-workload monthly total or independent comparative uptime statistic is established for these options.
Estimate whether a VPS transfer allowance is enough
For a continuously running stream, approximate monthly outbound data as: bitrate in megabits per second × 0.45 = terabytes per 30-day month. This is a planning estimate using decimal units and assumes a constant bitrate; actual traffic can differ because of variable bitrate, protocol overhead, reconnects, and how the provider counts transfer.

- At 1 Mbps, the estimate is about 0.45 TB for 30 days.
- At 2 Mbps, it is about 0.9 TB for 30 days.
- At 3 Mbps, it is about 1.35 TB for 30 days.
- At 4 Mbps, it is about 1.8 TB for 30 days.
These are arithmetic estimates, not provider measurements. They show why the AWS entry plan’s 1 TB allowance may be a constraint for a higher-bitrate continuous stream, even before considering other outbound traffic. Confirm the provider’s transfer accounting and overage rules, then leave a margin rather than sizing exactly to the estimate.
Choose based on how much operational work you want
Pick managed looping for a set-and-run prerecorded playlist
A managed loop service is the simpler fit when the source is already recorded and the main job is to keep it playing to YouTube. Compare the plan’s price basis, upload limits, storage, supported quality, playlist controls, and what happens after a disconnected stream. A vendor may describe recovery features, but that is not the same as an independently measured uptime result.

Pick a VPS if you want control and can maintain an encoder
A VPS suits a publisher comfortable with server administration who needs control over the encoder and its configuration. Budget for the whole workload, not only the monthly server line: calculate continuous transfer from the chosen output bitrate, account for source files and storage, and verify whether the plan has enough CPU or other resources for the encoder settings you intend to use.
Price a cloud encoding API for a configured workload
A managed encoding API can make sense when you need its configurable encoding infrastructure, but usage-based pricing requires a specific estimate. Include the configured input resolution, output resolution and codec, and continuous runtime. Do not multiply the published base input rate and treat that as the total if output charges and other billable configuration are also relevant.

Set up a podcast video stream safely
Prepare the source and playlist
- Export the episode or playlist as video in a format accepted by the service or encoder you plan to use. For an audio podcast, make a video version rather than assuming an audio file alone is a complete video-stream source.
- Check the entire program for silence, blank frames, accidental private information, and transitions that would be confusing when repeated. If you loop multiple episodes, decide whether the order and repetition are appropriate for viewers who arrive at any point.
- Keep a copy of the original files. A looping stream does not replace your own archive or content backup.
Configure YouTube ingest and encoder settings
Use YouTube’s current encoder-settings guide as the baseline, and confirm its recommendations against the encoder and intended output. YouTube recommends RTMPS and publishes guidance for resolution and bitrate; it also transcodes streams for playback across devices and network conditions. Do not assume that uploading a higher-bitrate file guarantees viewers will receive that exact bitrate.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and copy its stream key into the managed service or encoder’s YouTube ingest settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or commit it to public code.
- Choose RTMPS where supported, then match the encoder’s resolution and bitrate to YouTube’s current published guidance and your source material. A bitrate that is too high for the available upload path can cause dropped frames or disconnects; an unnecessarily low bitrate can reduce image quality.
- Set keyframes and other encoder parameters to the values in YouTube’s current guide for your selected format. Requirements can change, so verify the live documentation rather than relying on a setting copied from an old tutorial.
- Start a private or unlisted test if appropriate for your workflow and inspect YouTube Studio’s stream health before scheduling a public run. Verify audio, picture, title, latency choices, and the destination channel.
Check rights and YouTube policy before going live
Confirm that you have the rights needed for every element in the episode and its video, including music, clips, guest material, artwork, and any third-party material. Review YouTube’s current rules on copyright, reused content, monetization, and livestream archives for your specific circumstances. Eligibility and archive handling are policy questions; do not assume that a continuous prerecorded stream qualifies for monetization or that its archive will be handled in a particular way.
Troubleshooting a stream that stops or looks wrong
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or change |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the stream | Incorrect or expired stream key, wrong destination, or ingest configuration error. | Confirm the stream is associated with the intended channel, re-copy the current key into the service or encoder, and verify the selected ingest protocol and server address against YouTube Studio. |
| Stream disconnects or drops frames | Unstable upload path, insufficient server resources, or encoder settings that exceed available capacity. | Check YouTube Studio stream health and encoder logs; reduce output bitrate or resolution if the source and workflow allow, and check VPS CPU and network use. For a managed service, check its status and recovery guidance. |
| Viewers see poor picture quality | Low source quality, bitrate too low for the selected output, or a mismatch between source and encoder settings. | Inspect the source file first, then compare the output resolution and bitrate with YouTube’s current encoder guidance. YouTube transcodes for playback, so viewer rendition can vary. |
| Loop restarts at an unexpected point or playlist pauses | Playlist configuration, an unsupported or damaged file, or a service-side setting. | Test each file individually, verify playlist order and loop settings, and inspect the service’s supported formats and logs. |
| VPS costs exceed the headline plan | Outbound transfer beyond the included allowance, additional resources, or storage requirements. | Recalculate transfer from the actual sustained bitrate and runtime, review provider usage and overage billing, and resize or change the workflow if necessary. |
| Cloud API estimate is higher than expected | The estimate included only input encoding or used a different resolution, codec, or runtime from the deployed configuration. | Rebuild the estimate using the actual input and output settings and full operating hours, then confirm the current pricing page before deployment. |
