There is no proven universal “best” LinkedIn plugin for WordPress: the right choice depends on whether you need to publish site content to LinkedIn, let visitors sign in or share, or measure LinkedIn ad activity. Those tools support different steps in a customer journey; none, by itself, proves it will win customers.
Choose a plugin by the job you need done
WordPress.org’s LinkedIn plugin directory groups together tools with very different purposes, including automatic publishing, social login and sharing, embedded feeds, and ad tracking. Start by identifying the step you want to improve, then check where content should go and how much control you need.
- Distribute content: Automatically send selected WordPress posts or pages to a LinkedIn profile or company page.
- Enable visitor interaction: Add LinkedIn sign-in or sharing features to your site.
- Measure advertising: Install LinkedIn’s Insight Tag to support conversion tracking, retargeting audiences, and audience insights.
The WordPress.org LinkedIn tag directory is a discovery list, not an independent comparison or effectiveness ranking. Choose according to your publishing destination, desired approval workflow, and implementation and privacy needs.
For publishing WordPress content to LinkedIn
WP LinkedIn Auto Publish
WP LinkedIn Auto Publish is a free listed option for automatically sharing posts, custom post types, and pages to a personal LinkedIn profile and/or company pages you administer. Its directory listing describes controls for sharing text or a featured image, formatting a default message, filtering by category and post type, and opting out on an individual post.

WordPress.org displayed version 8.27, 8,000+ active installations, and an update one month before its page was accessed on September 30, 2026. Those are time-sensitive directory details, not evidence of reliability, performance, or customer results.
WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish
WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish is another listed option. Its directory documentation describes category selection and the ability to choose post fields such as title, content, excerpt, permalink, and publish date for a share. Treat these as vendor-documented capabilities: check the current listing for compatibility and confirm LinkedIn authorization requirements before adopting it.
How to choose between auto-publishing options
Compare the workflow you want rather than relying on install counts or a feature list alone:
Rank #2
- Destination: Confirm whether the plugin supports the personal profile, company page, or both that you intend to use.
- Control: Decide whether every qualifying post should publish automatically or whether you need to approve or skip individual posts.
- Filtering and message control: Check for category or post-type filters and the ability to tailor the share text and included fields.
- Current fit: Review the plugin’s latest maintenance and compatibility information, and verify the LinkedIn account permissions it requires.
Automation can reduce manual sharing steps. It does not establish that posts will reach prospective customers or generate leads or sales.

For LinkedIn social login or sharing
The LinkedIn-tagged WordPress directory lists miniOrange Social Login, Social Sharing as supporting LinkedIn alongside other platforms. Consider this category if your site specifically needs a social sign-in option or LinkedIn sharing controls; it is a different job from publishing your posts or measuring ads.
Before choosing a social plugin, verify which features are currently available, any account requirements, its privacy behavior, and compatibility with your WordPress setup. A listing does not show that LinkedIn sign-in will increase registrations or that sharing buttons will bring customers.

For measuring LinkedIn advertising with the Insight Tag
LinkedIn’s Insight Tag documentation describes a JavaScript tag for measuring ad-driven website activity. LinkedIn says it supports conversion tracking, website audiences for retargeting, and audience insights. This is an advertising measurement tool, not a social-sharing plugin. Installing the tag is only one part of the process: you still need to configure and validate conversions and audiences in Campaign Manager.
Ways to install the tag
LinkedIn documents adding the tag’s JavaScript directly or using a tag manager. A WordPress plugin is another possible way to manage placement, but it is an optional implementation method—not the tag service, an ad campaign, or a compliance guarantee.

The WordPress.org listing for Pagup’s Add LinkedIn Insight Tag for LinkedIn Ads describes entering a LinkedIn Partner ID and enabling the base tag in the WordPress admin without editing theme files. That description is a listed capability; check the current listing’s maintenance and compatibility details before deciding whether it fits your site.

What the tag collects and where to take care
LinkedIn says the tag uses LinkedIn cookies to match visitors to member accounts. Its documentation describes visit-related data such as the URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics, and timestamp. LinkedIn says advertiser reports are aggregate and do not identify individual members; that does not mean the tag collects no visit-related data.
LinkedIn warns against placing the tag on certain consumer pages involving sensitive medications, financial-account management, or medical appointments, because doing so could inadvertently share sensitive health or financial information. Review the content of pages where the tag may load and the requirements that apply to your site before installation. A plugin does not make tracking compliant.
LinkedIn recommends using only one Insight Tag per website, while allowing that tag to be shared across ad accounts. Check your existing theme, tag manager, and plugins so you do not add another copy inadvertently.
A practical decision checklist
- Want to distribute new content? Compare the auto-publishing plugins against your profile or company-page destination and the level of per-post control you need.
- Want visitors to sign in or share? Look at social login and sharing features, and confirm their current limits and privacy behavior.
- Running LinkedIn ads? Decide whether direct code, a tag manager, or a WordPress interface best fits your setup, then configure and validate measurement in Campaign Manager.
- Have sensitive health or financial pages? Assess whether the tag should load on those pages before installing it site-wide.
No independent comparison cited here establishes a single best plugin or demonstrates that any of these listed tools increases leads or sales. Select a tool for the task it performs, and evaluate customer outcomes separately.
