Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a laptop with a replaceable, compatible wireless module, Intel’s AX210 is a Wi-Fi 6E option and its BE200 is a Wi-Fi 7 option. Neither is a universal best: the right card depends on your laptop’s exact slot, interface, antenna wiring and firmware support, as well as your router and operating system. Check compatibility before buying; an M.2-shaped module is not automatically a drop-in upgrade.
AX210 vs. BE200: which fits your laptop?
These modules represent different Wi-Fi generations, but the specifications alone do not establish how either will perform in a particular laptop. Intel lists the BE200 as Wi-Fi 7, while the AX210 product brief identifies the AX210 as Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax). The BE200 may be a candidate when the laptop and router support its features; the AX210 is a documented Wi-Fi 6E option. Neither card can add features that the laptop or access point does not support.

| Spatial streams | 2×2, per Intel’s product brief. | 2×2, per Intel’s specifications. |
| Published maximum rate | Not stated in the cited product brief excerpt. | 5.8 Gbps under the stated 320 MHz channel-width and 4096-QAM conditions; this is a manufacturer specification, not typical laptop throughput. Intel BE200 specifications |
| Module form factor | M.2 2230; Intel describes standard Key A or Key E socket use for this form factor. | M.2 2230 or M.2 1216. |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth 5.2. | Bluetooth 5.4. |
| Operating systems listed | Windows 10 and Windows 11 in Intel’s module brief; check current vendor-specific support. | Windows 10, Windows 11 and Linux on Intel’s specification page. |
All specifications in the table are manufacturer documentation, not independent measurements. The BE200’s listed 5.8 Gbps ceiling is conditional on 320 MHz and 4096-QAM; it is not a promise of file-copy or internet speed. The cited AX210 brief excerpt does not provide a directly comparable maximum rate, so a like-for-like speed ranking cannot be made from these figures.

Check laptop compatibility before ordering
Intel’s module documentation describes the cards, not whether a specific laptop supports them. Confirm the precise laptop model and revision in its service manual or manufacturer compatibility list. Some laptops have soldered radios; others may impose firmware or model-specific restrictions.
#1 Best Overall
- ⭐【Wi-Fi 7】With Intel Wi-Fi 7 technology network adapter provides strong performance and good compatibility, while reducing power consumption and improving service life.
- ⭐【BE200 NGW Wireless LAN Card】Provides tri-band (6GHz, 5.8GHz and 2.4GHz) signal. Maximum speed up to 8774Mbps(5800Mbps @6GHz + 2400Mbps @5GHz + 574Mbps @2.4GHz).
- ⭐【Bluetooth 5.4】Based on Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth 5.4 adds LE enhanced connection/Host set Controller key length function/LE channel hierarchy function. Make Bluetooth 5.4 lower latency, stronger anti-interference, improve battery life.
- ⭐【Installation Requirements】For motherboards with Intel CPU and M2 network slot, only supports the M.2 E-key interface.Only supports Intel 12th generation and above CPUs, does not support AMD processors.
- ⭐【Compatible System】Support Windows 11/10 64-bit,LINUX. WiFi and Bluetooth drivers need to be installed on the running PC (search "BE200NGW" from Intel website to download and install wifi and Bluetooth drivers).
- Replaceability: Verify that the wireless module can be removed rather than soldered to the motherboard.
- Physical fit and key: Match the module’s dimensions and M.2 key to the laptop slot. The AX210 is M.2 2230; the BE200 is listed in M.2 2230 or M.2 1216 forms.
- Electrical interface: Confirm that the host supports the card’s required interface. Similar-looking M.2 slots do not prove electrical compatibility; check the laptop documentation for PCIe/USB or any vendor-specific requirements.
- Antennas: Check connector type, connector count and cable reach, and whether both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are wired as expected.
- Firmware and software: Check for BIOS restrictions and supported operating-system drivers for the exact laptop configuration.
- Local 6 GHz rules: Review applicable regulatory requirements before relying on 6 GHz operation.
What a new card can—and cannot—change
A wireless card changes the laptop’s endpoint radio. It cannot make an older router provide Wi-Fi 7 features, overcome weak signal or interference by itself, or raise internet speed beyond the service and network path available to the laptop. To use a card’s newer capabilities, the access point must support them too, and the relevant band and channel conditions must be available.
Actual transfer rates depend on the router, channel width, signal strength, interference, client configuration, protocol overhead and the other device involved. Intel’s BE200 maximum of 5.8 Gbps explicitly assumes 320 MHz and 4096-QAM, so treat it as a conditional specification rather than an expected real-world result.

Operating-system and WPA3 support
Intel’s WPA3 support article lists both the AX210 and BE200, but support depends on software as well as the adapter. In that article, Intel states these Windows requirements:
- WPA3-Personal: Windows 10 May 2019 Update, version 1903 or later, and driver 21.10.x or later.
- WPA3-Enterprise: Windows 10 May 2020 Update, version 2004 or later, and driver 21.90.3 or later.
These are Intel’s stated Windows requirements in an article last reviewed February 7, 2025—not a guarantee for every operating system, Linux distribution, driver build or enterprise network. Confirm support for the exact card, OS and driver you plan to use. Intel’s WPA3 support guidance

A practical upgrade sequence
- Identify the laptop precisely. Record its full model and revision, then find the service manual or manufacturer compatibility list.
- Confirm the existing module is replaceable. If the radio is soldered or the manufacturer does not support the proposed module, do not assume an internal-card swap is possible.
- Match the module to the host. Check form factor, key, electrical interface, antenna connectors and firmware restrictions against the laptop documentation.
- Check the rest of the network. Confirm the router supports the Wi-Fi generation and bands you want to use, plus the necessary channel conditions.
- Prepare a recovery path. Keep the original card and drivers so you can restore the prior setup if the replacement is not recognized or does not work correctly.
- After installation, verify operation. Confirm the operating system recognizes both wireless functions, install a supported driver, and check that the router and security settings work as expected.
Choosing between the two
Start with the laptop’s approved module options, not the headline speed. If both cards are explicitly supported, choose based on the Wi-Fi generation and bands your router can use, the OS and driver support you need, and whether you value the BE200’s listed Bluetooth 5.4 versus the AX210’s Bluetooth 5.2. If compatibility is unconfirmed, neither specification sheet is enough to justify the upgrade. Prices, stock and laptop-specific compatibility are not established by these product specifications, so verify them for your region and exact machine before purchasing.
