For many Kindle owners, a screen-contact clip paired with a handheld remote is the most established hands-free option: the clip taps the screen for you, so the Kindle does not need to pair with a generic Bluetooth controller. Amazon’s newly reported Kindle Click is a Bluetooth alternative, but its official model-by-model compatibility and regional availability are not confirmed in Amazon’s surfaced help pages. Check the exact Kindle generation and local listing before buying.
Which Kindle page-turner options actually work?
There are three distinct approaches: a screen-contact clip and remote, Amazon’s new Kindle Click, and a built-in double-tap feature on two specific Signature Edition models. A generic Bluetooth remote is not automatically compatible just because it uses Bluetooth.

Screen-contact clip remotes: what to check before buying
This is the established choice when you want to operate an existing Kindle without relying on its Bluetooth support. The clip’s sensor must reach a suitable area of the screen, while the remote controls the clip’s receiver. The operating details and exclusions in manuals apply to those products, not every clip-style remote.

- Match the exact generation. Use the listing’s model table and the included instructions, rather than relying on a broad label such as “Paperwhite compatible.”
- Check case and screen clearance. Confirm the clip can sit where its sensor is meant to touch the screen and that a case, bezel, or screen protector will not obstruct it.
- Confirm what the remote controls. Check whether it turns pages in both directions and how the handheld unit pairs with the clip receiver.
- Review power details. Look for the stated charging method, battery information, and any auto-off behavior; these details vary by listing.
- Check returns and local stock. Availability and policies differ by retailer and marketplace.
Kindle Click: a new Bluetooth option, with compatibility still to verify
TechRadar’s October 1, 2026 launch report identifies Kindle Click as Amazon’s Bluetooth page-turn remote and reports a U.S. price of $34.99. T3’s coverage from the same date reports compatibility with Kindle e-readers made from 2024 onward. Amazon’s general Kindle Bluetooth guidance says, “Pairing a Bluetooth phone, keyboard, or mouse isn’t supported at this time.” That limitation is about those device categories; it does not establish whether Kindle Click works with a particular Kindle model. Double-tap page advance on supported Signature Editions
Owners of the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition or Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (12th Generation, 2024 release) can use Amazon’s documented double-tap gesture to turn a page or navigate to Home or Library. How to choose the right setup
- Identify the precise Kindle model and generation. Check the device’s About page or its original product details; do not assume compatibility from the Kindle family name alone.
- If you have a 2024 Signature Edition listed above, try the built-in double-tap feature first if you do not need a handheld remote.
- For other models, compare clip-remotes’ model lists. Match the generation and read the placement instructions for the actual product.
- Consider Kindle Click only after verifying its official listing. Check that your exact device and country are covered, since launch reporting alone does not settle either point.
- Before ordering, check fit and practical details. Confirm case clearance, controls, charging, and the seller’s return terms.
Keep Kindle apps and Fire tablets separate from Kindle e-readers
Amazon’s accessibility material discusses page-flipping and continuous scrolling in Kindle apps, and switch access using compatible Bluetooth devices on Fire tablets.
