For Haunted by Daylight, start with a Killer who can reach event objectives without giving up chase pressure, or a Survivor whose perks match the job you can perform consistently. The Blight and The Nurse reward players who can use high-mobility powers; The Artist supplies information and area control; The Huntress offers a straightforward ranged-down learning path. For Survivors, Dwight Fairfield, Meg Thomas, Feng Min, and Zarina Kassir cover team awareness, repositioning, chase practice, and safer rescue or information play. Haunted by Daylight 2025 ran from October 14 through November 4, 2025. Behaviour Interactive has not confirmed a 2026 schedule in the material available here, so check the in-game News panel before relying on dates, rewards, or current perk details.

What changes during Haunted by Daylight

Haunted by Daylight adds the Void Realm to normal Trials. Portals and Void Rifts appear during a match, creating optional routes and objectives rather than replacing the ordinary generator-and-chase structure. The event rewards players who interact with those systems while still managing the main win condition for their role.

How players earn Void Energy

Both sides can collect Void Energy by interacting with event objects and by performing familiar Trial actions. The official 2025 rules list collecting Void Orbs, destroying Pumpkins, repairing Generators, stunning or blinding the Killer, downing a Survivor, and hooking a Survivor. Because several of these actions happen naturally, you do not need to abandon every chase or repair to participate; route through event objects when the opportunity is safe.

Survivor Void Crystals

Survivors can craft a Void Crystal. Placing it on an eligible Generator creates a Smoke Bomb and lets the Generator be repaired remotely for a limited duration. The crystal is therefore both an objective tool and a positioning tool: it can keep progress moving while you leave the immediate area, but using it in a dangerous location can expose the team or waste the limited window.

Killer Captured Haunts

Killers can craft Captured Haunts. A released Haunt fires a straight-line projectile that injures Survivors. Captured Haunts also passively improve break action speed, while breaking a Pallet consumes a charge. Treat charges as a chase resource rather than pressing the ability on cooldown: a projectile that secures an injury or a faster break at a strong loop is usually worth more than a speculative shot.

Rules inside the Void Realm

While in the Void Realm, a Killer is Undetectable but cannot use the Killer’s Power. Survivors can become Exhausted and Broken in the situations defined by the live event rules. Released Haunts can grant role-specific effects, including Haste, Endurance, action-speed bonuses, Undetectable, or Hindered. Read the current in-game description before planning a route, since the exact trigger conditions and durations are event-specific.

Best Killers for the event

The best event Killer is not automatically the strongest Killer in ordinary tier lists. Compare each choice by how quickly it reaches a first chase, converts a hit into a down, moves between generators, maintains pressure, and collects Void Energy without creating a free reset for the Survivors. The following are practical starting points, not an official Behaviour Interactive ranking or a claim of event-specific win-rate superiority.

Killer Why the pick works Best fit Main caution
The Blight High mobility can reach distant event interactions and return to a threatened generator quickly. Players who can steer rushes and convert contact into a down. Missed rushes cost time, and power use is unavailable inside the Void Realm.
The Nurse Teleportation gives exceptional map access and can shorten the time between event objectives and chases. Experienced players who already control blink timing. Her learning curve is steep; a player who misses blinks may lose more pressure than a simpler Killer would.
The Artist Birds provide information and area pressure, helping identify movement around generators and event routes. Players who prefer prediction, zoning, and planned pressure. She still needs a reliable chase conversion after information reveals a Survivor.
The Huntress Ranged hatchets offer a clear way to practice injuring or downing from outside a loop. Players learning a ranged-down pattern without relying on extreme mobility. Hatchet availability and line of sight matter; missed throws can give away tempo.

The Blight: mobility with a resource plan

Use rushes to connect the event’s scattered objectives with the ordinary generator patrol. A good sequence is to check the nearest likely generator, take a fast chase if a Survivor is exposed, and then use mobility to return to the next pressure point. Do not enter the Void Realm merely because it is available if doing so leaves several active generators untouched; the loss of the Power inside that space can outweigh the stealth benefit.

The Nurse: choose the player, not the headline

The Nurse is a strong recommendation only when you can already blink accurately. Her value comes from compressing distance and ending chases quickly, not from the event changing her fundamental controls. Practice a conservative first blink, confirm the Survivor’s direction, and reserve the second blink for a committed attack. If your blink errors are frequent, switch to a Killer whose mobility is more forgiving.

The Artist: information before commitment

The Artist fits players who want to make the event map readable. Use information to decide whether an event interaction is safe, then send pressure toward the route that forces Survivors away from a valuable generator or into an unfavorable loop. Her strength is controlling choices across an area; do not let a distant event object pull you into a low-value chase while several generators progress.

The Huntress: a measurable ranged learning path

The Huntress lets you track improvement through simple questions: did the hatchet force a pallet, did it produce an injury, and did the injury become a down? Hold angles that cover likely exits instead of throwing at every glimpse. Event objectives can create predictable movement, but the same portals and rifts can also break line of sight, so reposition before committing to a low-probability throw.

Build a Killer loadout around three jobs

A reliable event build normally covers early information, sustained generator pressure, and chase conversion. Four perks cannot maximize every category, so choose the job your Killer lacks rather than copying a universal list. Perk ownership, descriptions, and balance can change; the live in-game text is authoritative.

Job Perks to evaluate in the current client How to use the slot
Early information Lethal Pursuer; Nowhere to Hide Find the first chase or reveal Survivors after a generator interaction so event travel does not become blind wandering.
Generator pressure Corrupt Intervention; Pop Goes the Weasel; Pain Resonance Delay the opening spread, then make each hook or completed chase produce meaningful regression or pressure where the current rules allow it.
Hook information Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage Turn a hook into information about the next target instead of immediately searching random tiles.

A mobility-focused setup

For The Blight or The Nurse, combine one early-information perk, one hook-triggered generator-pressure perk, one chase-support or reveal perk, and a fourth slot that addresses your weakest phase. The point is to preserve the mobility advantage: information gets you to a target, pressure makes the target matter, and the final slot helps finish the chase or protect a lead.

An area-control setup

For The Artist, favor an information-and-pressure mix. Reveal movement around generators, use your power to deny predictable routes, and select a regression option that rewards successful hooks. This setup is less about racing across the map and more about making every safe-looking event interaction carry a positional cost.

A ranged-learning setup

For The Huntress, choose information that supplies clear sightlines and pressure that prevents a missed hatchet from becoming a complete loss. Avoid filling every slot with effects that only matter after a down; a learning build should help you locate targets and create the next throw.

A practical Killer route through a Trial

  1. Read the opening: Identify the nearest generators and event objects, then choose the route that can reach a likely Survivor without crossing the whole map.
  2. Start a real chase: Take the first high-probability interaction rather than spending excessive time collecting energy in safety while generators progress.
  3. Use event charges deliberately: Fire a Captured Haunt when the straight line is likely to injure, or spend a charge on a Pallet whose break materially improves the loop.
  4. Protect the pressure point: After a down or hook, use your information and generator tools to select the next target. Do not automatically travel to the farthest portal.
  5. Enter the Void only with a reason: The Undetectable state can surprise Survivors, but the inability to use your Power means the trip should have a clear payoff such as a safe interaction or a decisive approach.

Best Survivors for Haunted by Daylight

Survivor character models do not have different base strength in this event. Your practical power comes from perk access, the job you perform, and how consistently you execute under pressure. In solo queue, begin with a character whose learning goal is obvious rather than chasing a supposed universal meta pick.

Survivor Learning goal Event value Choose this when
Dwight Fairfield Team awareness and coordinated objective play. Helps you understand where teammates are before committing to a Generator or Void interaction. You often lose track of the team or want a straightforward support role.
Meg Thomas Repositioning and chase survival. Useful for reaching an event object, leaving a dangerous route, and returning to an objective after the Killer rotates. You are learning when to disengage instead of forcing a risky interaction.
Feng Min Chase practice and tile decisions. Supports repeated practice of pathing around pallets and windows while event distractions are present. You want to improve loop choices and spend less time panic-running.
Zarina Kassir Safer rescue and information play. Fits players who prioritize rescue timing, anti-tunnel protection, and making informed decisions near hooks. Your team needs a deliberate rescuer rather than another player focused only on repairs.

Dwight Fairfield: make solo queue legible

Dwight is a strong starting point when your biggest problem is uncertainty. Track where teammates are repairing, healing, or approaching a hook before you use a Void Crystal. Clear team awareness reduces duplicate repairs and prevents two players from entering the same dangerous route while an unprotected generator is ignored.

Meg Thomas: practice leaving at the right time

Meg suits players who reach an event interaction quickly but struggle to escape after the Killer arrives. Use her as a lesson in repositioning: begin the objective when the route is favorable, abandon it before the Killer closes the exit, and return only after pressure moves elsewhere.

Feng Min: turn chases into repeatable decisions

Feng is useful for learning the difference between a strong tile and a familiar tile. Event portals, rifts, and Smoke Bombs can change visibility and approach angles, so practice identifying your next safe structure before the current one is exhausted.

Zarina Kassir: protect the rescue plan

Zarina fits a team that needs more than another generator hand. Plan the rescue around the Killer’s location, the hooked player’s state, and your escape route. Anti-tunnel protection and information are valuable only when you use them to decide whether a rescue is safe, delayed, or better handled by another teammate.

Survivor perk categories and sample loadouts

Evaluate perks by the job they perform, then build four slots that cover your personal failure point. The names below are starting points to check in the current client; exact effects, cooldowns, and balance may differ from older guides.

Need Perks to evaluate What the category solves
Information Kindred; Deja Vu Shows where teammates, hooks, or useful generators fit into your next decision.
Chase navigation Windows of Opportunity Helps you choose a route before the Killer closes distance.
Exhaustion and repositioning Sprint Burst; Lithe Creates a planned movement window for leaving a dangerous area or reaching cover.
Anti-tunnel protection Off the Record Gives the rescued player a defensive option after an unsafe hook sequence.
Objective efficiency Prove Thyself Supports coordinated repair when grouping is safe and productive.

Solo-queue information loadout

Pair one hook or teammate-information perk with one generator-information perk, then add a chase-navigation option and an exhaustion or repositioning option. This configuration answers the four questions solo players ask most often: where is the team, which generator is worth taking, where can I run, and how do I leave?

Chase-practice loadout

Use a navigation perk, one exhaustion option, one defensive rescue option, and one information perk. The purpose is not to guarantee a long chase; it is to make each chase produce a clear lesson about route selection, timing, and when to stop interacting with an event object.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Repair-focused team loadout

Combine generator information with the objective-efficiency category when your team can coordinate. Do not stack on one generator automatically: split when the Killer is rotating, regroup when a safe repair speed advantage matters, and leave enough awareness for a rescue or incoming chase.

Using Void Crystals without sacrificing the team

  1. Check eligibility: Confirm that the Generator accepts the crystal before committing the interaction.
  2. Read the Killer’s location: Use teammate information and recent chase direction to decide whether remote progress is safe.
  3. Place for a purpose: Use the Smoke Bomb and limited remote-repair period to create distance, finish a nearly completed objective, or keep progress alive while you reposition.
  4. Leave an exit: Do not place the crystal where the Killer can approach from multiple sides with no nearby structure or teammate support.
  5. Return only when the risk changes: A limited-duration effect is not a reason to re-enter a losing position. Preserve your health state and let the remote progress do its work.

How to compare builds instead of chasing a tier list

Record the same questions over several Trials rather than judging a build from one spectacular match. Killer comparisons should use time to first chase, ability to convert a hit into a down, map mobility, generator pressure, and safety while collecting Void Energy. Survivor comparisons should use repair efficiency, reliability of chase escapes, team information, rescue safety, and the ability to use Void Crystals without exposing the team.

Role Measure Useful question after the Trial
Killer First-chase time Did information or mobility get me to a meaningful target quickly?
Killer Chase conversion After the first hit, did the build help produce a down or a favorable reset?
Killer Pressure Did each hook or interaction force generator regression, a bad route, or a new target?
Survivor Objective value Did my repair time advance a generator without creating a preventable down?
Survivor Escape reliability Did my movement option create a planned exit rather than a panic sprint?
Survivor Team safety Did my information or rescue choice reduce risk for someone else?
