Start your search in YouTube Studio’s Audio Library, but check the terms for each track. No specific Indian ambient track or catalogue has been verified here as cleared for continuous livestream use.
Where to find Indian ambient music
Start with YouTube Audio Library
In YouTube Studio, open Audio Library and search by title, artist or keyword. Try “Indian,” “classical,” “meditation,” “raga,” “sitar” and “tanpura” to explore styles; these are search suggestions, not confirmation that a suitable track is currently available or licensed for your stream. YouTube says the library can be filtered by genre, mood, attribution and duration, and that new releases are added twice a month.

Open the details for each candidate and check its attribution terms. If a track has a Creative Commons license, YouTube says you must credit the artist in the video description. Tracks marked as not requiring attribution avoid that step.
Judge the sound and permission separately
- Sound: Consider the raga or classical influence, instruments, percussion, dynamics and whether the arrangement stays unobtrusive over long listening sessions.
- Permission: Confirm the rights cover live broadcasting, continuous or repeated playback, the replay or archive, monetization and the countries where viewers will access it.
- Practical access: Make sure you can obtain and retain the audio and document the license terms in case a claim arises.
A musical style or instrument does not establish permission. Rights can also involve both the composition and the particular recording, so check that the license covers the material you will actually use.

What YouTube’s music rules mean for a 24/7 stream
Audio Library is the most platform-specific starting point
YouTube says, “Only music and sound effects from the Audio Library are known to YouTube to be copyright-safe.” Its guidance also says Audio Library downloads will not be claimed through Content ID. Treat those statements as applying to that library—not as a general guarantee for music described elsewhere as “royalty-free.” Check each Audio Library track’s terms and keep any required credit with the video description.
Creator Music is not for livestreams
YouTube Creator Music does not provide a workaround for a live music stream: its licensing and revenue-sharing tracks are for long-form videos, not livestreams or Shorts. YouTube’s current help page says Creator Music is available to U.S. creators in the YouTube Partner Program, with expansion outside the U.S. pending. Creators streaming from India should not assume it is available to them or suitable for this use.

Claims can change a stream’s availability or monetization
According to YouTube’s claimed-music guidance, rights holders may choose to monetize claimed music, block it worldwide or block it in selected countries or regions. Policies can change and affect availability. YouTube says creators generally need permission before including copyright-protected material; YouTube cannot grant those rights on a creator’s behalf.
For a third-party catalogue, get clear permission for the broadcast, looping, replay or archive, territory and monetization. Credit in the description is not a substitute for permission when the license does not grant it. For legal questions, consult a qualified lawyer; this is platform guidance, not legal advice.

How to decide whether a track is safe to use
- Find a candidate: Search Audio Library using relevant style and mood keywords, then inspect the actual track rather than relying on a search label.
- Read the track’s terms: Note attribution requirements and any restrictions. Do not infer livestream permission from permission for an ordinary video.
- Verify the full use: Check that live transmission, repeated playback, the replay or archive, monetization and your intended territories are covered.
- Keep a record: Save the track information and license or permission that supports your use. If the scope is unclear, ask the rights holder and do not use the track until it is resolved.
- Review claims and availability: If a claim appears, check its stated policy and affected regions; a rights holder’s policy may change.
Keeping a 24/7 stream running
The operating setup—such as software encoding, dedicated hardware or cloud hosting—is separate from music clearance. Choose based on the continuity, monitoring, power, internet and maintenance demands you can manage. Hosting may keep a broadcast running, but it cannot grant rights to the music. No particular service’s reliability or availability is established here.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it plays your uploads rather than broadcasting from a camera. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. This does not clear music rights: use only recordings you are permitted to stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
